“Xiao He, is everything you said true?” Qiu Li asked, though uncertainty still lingered in her expression.
Qing He nodded.
“Of course… I like you the most, Sister…”
“I’m willing to be controlled by you, Sister~” Qing He tilted her head slightly, sitting across from Qiu Li on the bed.
The heat in Qiu Li’s eyes gradually deepened.
But in the next instant, her gaze shifted again.
“Xiao He… since you said you’re willing to be under my control…”
“How about we stop using the diary from now on? Every day… you can just listen to me tell you what happened before?”
Qing He looked at her, momentarily at a loss.
What was this? She would actually make such a request?
After everything that had just happened, Qing He had thought she might be able to handle Qiu Li more easily. Yet now she realized… she still had no control over the situation.
To her, Qiu Li remained just as impossible to resist.
And the situation seemed even more dangerous than before.
What was she supposed to say?
“Xiao He?” Qiu Li waved her hand in front of Qing He’s unfocused eyes.
“Why aren’t you speaking?”
“Didn’t you say… you were willing to let me control you…?” A note of questioning filled her gaze, and her breathing gradually grew uneven.
Cold sweat slid down Qing He’s back.
Damn it… how was she meant to answer?
No matter what she said, there would be risk. Agree or refuse? If she agreed, what if Qiu Li truly stopped allowing her to write in the diary from now on?
And if she refused, the fragile trust they had just built might shatter instantly.
“Xiao He…! Answer me…”
“The diary—from now on, tear it up, destroy it. How about that!?” In Qiu Li’s blood-colored pupils, the pale-faced girl was clearly reflected.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, the corners of her lips curling upward.
“Xiao He, are you afraid?”
“You told me yourself that you love me. You love me… can’t you even do this?”
“Or do you not trust me? Do you doubt me?!”
She seized Qing He’s shoulders and forced her to meet her gaze.
“I…” Qing He’s rhythm was completely disrupted.
What… what should she say…
There was no other choice—she could only gamble. If she refused, everything from before would become meaningless. She had to try agreeing. After all, Qiu Li understood that information conveyed by spoken words could never compare to that magical diary, right?
“Sister… how could that be?”
“Of course I trust you. I love you the most, Sister…”
As she spoke, Qing He threw herself into Qiu Li’s arms, pouting as though wronged.
Qiu Li froze briefly before tightening her embrace around the girl.
“Then why didn’t you agree?” she demanded, staring at her as if waiting for a satisfactory explanation.
Qing He answered softly, “Who said that? I didn’t disagree just now.”
“Not only did I not disagree, I actually quite like your proposal, Sister.”
“Being controlled by you… relying only on you to tell me each day what I remember—it sounds interesting just thinking about it.”
“And you wouldn’t hurt me, would you? I like you the most, Sister~”
Lying in Qiu Li’s arms, Qing He’s heart pounded uncontrollably. What she had just said was far too dangerous. Qiu Li was obsessive, unstable…
If she truly lost her reason and actually did it, everything would be over.
Yet based on Qing He’s understanding, Qiu Li likely would not go that far. Without the diary, each morning when Qing He lost her memory, she would be completely vulnerable. The diary transmitted memory instantly; spoken explanations did not.
If Qiu Li genuinely wished to protect her, she would not act that way.
Though fear lingered in her heart, Qing He continued to play the obedient younger sister, the compliant pet. Only like this… did it seem possible for her to survive in this world.
Qiu Li studied her for a long time. At last, a faint trace of pleasure surfaced on her face.
“Xiao He… so obedient…”
“But if we really did that, something could easily go wrong. We’ll wait until everything is completely safe in the future.” Qiu Li stroked the girl’s head, and Qing He cooperatively narrowed her eyes, looking like a small animal enjoying affection.
The smile at the corners of Qiu Li’s lips kept deepening.
“My Xiao He is so good…”
Her gaze drifted to the girl’s rosy lips, and she could not resist lowering her head to kiss her.
Qing He trembled faintly in alarm and opened her eyes, yet soon gave up the thought of resisting.
It was only a kiss… it would not cost her anything.
Not only could she not resist, she had to respond—to make Qiu Li trust her even more.
Qing He closed her eyes again…
Suddenly, Qiu Li’s face flashed through her mind.
That cascade of silver hair, that breathtaking and mature beauty. Qing He seemed to catch a faint fragrance at the tip of her nose.
“Mmm…”
Qiu Li reached out and gently pushed the girl down onto the bed. Qing He lay there obediently, like a small white rabbit waiting to be picked up.
With a soft laugh, Qiu Li leaned over her. She grasped the girl’s wrists and used her own weight to pin her down.
Qing He had almost no room to resist.
“Sister… don’t—” The word had barely left her lips before another kiss sealed them shut.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly. After a long while, Qing He was held down so firmly she could barely move, nearly suffocating.
She struggled weakly, but Qiu Li paid no attention.
“Ah…” Lost within the kiss, she suddenly felt something creeping along her back…
“No… don’t…”
Instinctively, she pushed back in resistance.
But Qiu Li looked at her with an expression filled with aggressive curiosity.
As though asking, “Aren’t you my most obedient little pet?”
Qing He pressed her lips together, torn with hesitation, her small face flushed. She knew exactly what kind of person Qiu Li was…
No… this would not work. At night, her clarity would decrease.
If this continued, the clarity she had just regained would drop once more.
“Don’t… Sister, it’s too late… If we’re really going to do something, let’s wait until tomorrow…” The girl gazed at Qiu Li pitifully, appearing irresistibly alluring.
Qiu Li paused, tilting her head as though considering.
“Then… all right…” She remembered that Qing He had no ability to endure the night.
In truth, clarity did not decline particularly fast at night. A normal person would require two or three entire nights without sleep to lose all clarity, but Qing He’s body was far too fragile.
“Sister, before sleeping, may I make one last revision to the diary?” Qing He asked cautiously.
The request clearly made Qiu Li wary. She looked at Qing He with faint unease.
Qing He shrank back slightly and gazed at her with innocent eyes. “Sister, I only need to revise a few things, and I also need to record that I’ve already confessed the diary’s existence to you.”
“Otherwise, tomorrow I’ll forget, won’t I?” She took Qiu Li’s hand and smiled with pure innocence, holding it between both of hers.
“And you can watch me revise it. If there’s anything you don’t like, you can change it as well. No matter what it is, I’ll agree.” She blinked gently.
Hearing those words, Qiu Li stared at her for a long moment, as if weighing whether to consent.
“All right… then let’s revise the diary.” After nodding, a different kind of excitement rose within her.
This excitement was unlike before. In the past, she had secretly altered the diary. Now, she had Xiao He’s permission and could revise it openly, right in front of her.
