At 8:00 AM, Lin Lu stood at the entrance of the Beijiang District Administrative Service Center, clutching a document folder in her hand.
The folder contained two items: A “Special Identity Certificate” issued by Magical Girl Headquarters, stamped with a bright red official seal.
It read: “This is to certify that the holder’s identity information has changed due to supernatural factors. Relevant departments are requested to cooperate.”
A “Diagnosis Certificate” issued by the Affiliated Hospital of Beijiang University.
The diagnosis column read: “Post-operative recovery period for pseudohermaphroditism” — this was a fake medical record she had specifically requested at the hospital earlier that morning.
However… with the red stamp of authentication, it was no different from a real one.
‘Pseudohermaphroditism…’ Lin Lu shook her head helplessly while holding her forehead.
‘I never thought I’d “suffer” from a medical condition I’ve only read about in novels.’
Lin Lu still vividly remembered the strange look the doctor gave her when she asked for a medical certificate that could “change gender.”
“It’s…” Lin Lu had paused, “To put it simply, I’m actually female but had male characteristics that required surgery to restore my true gender.”
“Oh? So you’re currently in the post-operative recovery phase?”
“Yes.” Lin Lu buried her face in her hand.
‘If this medical record ever gets out, how will I ever face anyone again… Sigh.’
“Don’t worry, the hospital keeps these kinds of illnesses confidential,” Lilith comforted her, “Besides, looking at you now, who would ever think you used to be a guy?”
Lin Lu looked down at herself — silver hair, red eyes, a floral print dress, and white sneakers.
Her skin was so pale it seemed to glow.
Indeed, with her current appearance, if she told someone she used to be a man, they probably wouldn’t believe her.
Even a trip abroad wouldn’t result in such high-quality surgery.
She took a deep breath.
‘Alright, there’s one last thing to do.’
With that, she pushed open the door to the Administrative Service Center.

Half an hour later, Lin Lu walked out with a brand-new ID card in her hand.
[Name: Lin Lu]
[Gender: Female]
[Age: 20p
[Address: No. 188 Xuefu Road, Beijiang District, Beijiang City]
The silver-haired girl in the photo had a slightly stiff expression, but it wasn’t a big deal given her otherworldly beauty.
“Done.” Lin Lu breathed a sigh of relief and tucked the ID away.
Next — school.
***
Beijiang University, Academic Affairs Office.
Lin Lu sat in the office, facing a middle-aged woman wearing glasses — Director Li of the Academic Affairs Office.
Director Li looked at the materials in her hand, then at Lin Lu, and pushed up her glasses.
“Student Lin Lu, right?” Her voice was calm, “I’ve reviewed your situation. We’ve verified the hospital’s diagnosis certificate; there are no issues. As for the Special Identity Certificate… although it’s the first time I’ve seen one, we recognize it since it has a formal official seal.”
Lin Lu nodded, not daring to say too much.
“Regarding the change in your student status information, we will process it as soon as possible.” Director Li flipped through the documents.
“Your gender and photo will be updated, and your previous files will be sealed. You don’t need to worry about privacy issues.”
“Thank you, Director Li.”
“However…” Director Li looked up, “What’s this about your application to change majors?”
Lin Lu was prepared and took an application form out of her bag.
“I want to transfer from the Math Department to the Music Department.”
Director Li raised an eyebrow and asked, “From Math to Music? That’s quite a leap. Although that certificate allows you to change majors, may I ask for a reason?”
‘A reason?’
Lin Lu frantically wove a lie in her mind.
After all, she couldn’t exactly say she was now a magical girl who wanted to be an idol, so transferring to the Music Department was better, could she?
She put on a sorrowful expression and said, “To be honest, teacher, after this surgery, I… I’ve had new reflections on my life. Studying math before was my family’s wish, but after this ordeal, I want to pursue what I truly love.”
Director Li looked at her with a hint of sympathy in her eyes.
“You like music?”
“Yes,” Lin Lu nodded, “I’ve always loved singing, but I never had the chance to study it before.”
‘Yeah, right!’
She was notoriously tone-deaf.
Last time at the KTV, that jerk Zhang Liang had recorded her and used it as his alarm clock for three months.
But Director Li didn’t know that.
She looked at Lin Lu, then at the application, and finally sighed.
“Alright, special cases require special handling.” She signed the application.
“I’ve already notified the Music Department. You can report there today. However, considering your foundational knowledge and the curriculum’s progress, you’ll have to start over from your freshman year. Just hand these materials to your counselor.”
“I understand. Thank you, Director Li!”
Lin Lu took the application, bowed in thanks, and exited the office.

The Music Department building was in the east district of Beijiang University.
It was an old-style building covered in ivy, giving it a very artistic atmosphere.
Lin Lu followed the address to the counselor’s office and knocked on the door.
“Come in.”
She pushed the door open to see a 30-year-old woman with short hair and round-rimmed glasses.
She looked quite cultured.
“Are you… Student Lin Lu?” The counselor glanced at her and froze for a moment.
“Yes, I’m here to report.”
The counselor stared at her for several seconds before snapping out of it.
“Uh… okay, please take a seat. I’m the counselor for the Music Department, my name is Zhou.”
Lin Lu sat down and handed over her materials.
While Counselor Zhou flipped through the documents, she couldn’t help but keep looking up at her.
“Alright, I understand your situation.” She typed a few things into the computer and said, “I’ve assigned you to the Vocal Performance major, Freshman Class 3. There happens to be a major-specific class this morning, so you can go straight there.”
She wrote down a room number and handed it to Lin Lu.
“Thank you, Counselor Zhou.”
Lin Lu took the slip of paper and rose to leave.
***
The vocal major’s classroom was on the second floor.
It was a spacious rehearsal hall filled with the sound of a piano and scattered singing.
Lin Lu stood at the door, took a deep breath, and pushed it open.
There were about forty students in the classroom, sitting in groups of twos and threes.
A male teacher at the podium was flipping through sheet music at the piano.
Everyone’s gaze shifted toward her simultaneously.
“Um… hello, Teacher. I’m the new transfer student, Lin Lu.”
The male teacher adjusted his glasses.
“Ah, Counselor Zhou mentioned you. Come in. We’ve only just started the lesson.” The teacher pointed to an empty seat in the back.
“Take any seat. This class is Solfège and Ear Training.”
“Okay, thank you, Teacher.”
Lin Lu lowered her head and walked quickly toward the back, scanning for an empty seat.
She could feel countless eyes tracking her every move.
Silver hair, red eyes, a floral dress, and white sneakers — among a crowd of ordinary students, she was naturally the most eye-catching and unique presence.
“Wow, the new student is so pretty…”
“Is that hair color real?”
“It’s probably dyed, right? Who has natural silver hair?”
“Have you ever seen a dye job that looks that good?”
“I wonder which major she transferred from?”
Whispers constantly drifted her way.
Lin Lu turned a deaf ear to them, walked to the last row, and sat in an empty spot.
Then, she froze.
Three people were sitting next to her, looking at her with curiosity.
One was a girl with twin tails and crimson eyes — Su Tang.
Lin Lu’s brain stalled for a second.
‘Su Tang?’
Lin Lu felt an inexplicable headache coming on; after all, this girl was far too enthusiastic.
‘What is she doing here?’
“Eh—!” Su Tang’s eyes suddenly widened as she pointed at Lin Lu.
“It’s you! Lu-lu!”
Lin Lu: “…”
“Come, come! Sit here.” Su Tang grabbed Lin Lu’s hand and whispered excitedly, “I didn’t expect to run into you here! Which major did you transfer from?!”
The surrounding students all looked over.
Lin Lu felt like she was dying inside.
“Um… please calm down…”
Su Tang placed a hand on her forehead and said in a deep, overbearing CEO-style voice, “Woman — did you specifically transfer to this major just for me? Interesting — you’ve caught my attention.”
Lin Lu rolled her eyes at Su Tang and could only nod repeatedly.
“Yes, yes, it’s fate, it’s fate.”
“Oh, right, right,” Su Tang suddenly remembered something, “Were you… okay the other day?”
“Yeah, that day I got my things and ran home through the back alleys. I was fine.”
“Hehe, that’s good!” Su Tang let out a sigh of relief, then pointed to the two people beside her.
“By the way, let me introduce you. These are my roommates — Chen Xingye and Lin Shuiyue!”
Lin Lu looked at them.
One was an orange-haired girl who seemed bursting with energy.
She waved at her, “Hello! I’m Chen Xingye. Welcome to the Music Department!”
The other was a blue-haired girl wearing glasses with a cold expression.
She simply nodded, “Lin Shuiyue.”
Lin Lu looked at them, feeling that they looked strangely familiar…
