“Meditating?”
Vivian blinked, then realized.
She was already a Sixth Order Vampire, so she didn’t need to meditate.
But for Lorevil and the others, meditation was a required course.
“That’s right. Third Order is the key to building a solid foundation of blood qi for a Vampire.”
Vivian turned serious and began pacing in the Medical Room.
“Meditation nourishes the soul and stabilizes the foundation of blood qi. The Academy also has dedicated meditation assist devices. Now that you’ve broken through to Mid Third Rank, you can go apply for one.”
Hearing her Mentor’s words, Lorevil understood.
The meditation device was like reducing the cooldown of a Secret Art—shortening the time needed to regulate breathing.
At the very least, it could help her rest when she was tired at night.
It did sound pretty good.
If she could get a meditation device, it would be a lifesaver for her right now.
But then she thought again—her Family actually had similar devices.
It was just that with her current standing, she had no right to ask for one.
Thus, a trace of helplessness and unwillingness flickered through her wine-red eyes.
“You don’t need to worry too much. The Academy’s meditation device application process is fair. As long as you reach Mid Third Rank, you can apply.”
As if sensing the girl’s dejection, Vivian didn’t pry and only gave a brief reminder.
Didn’t she also reach where she was today without her Family’s support?
The reason Holy Blood Academy was so powerful was precisely because its system treated all Trainees equally.
As long as one worked hard to raise their strength, they had the chance to obtain resources!
Lorevil regained her spirit.
“Thank you, Teacher.”
If she dwelled on these things too much, it would backfire.
Breaking into the top 50 of the points ranking had just fulfilled the first condition Jerwen put forward. She should be happy.
Since the Academy could provide it, there was no need to demand too much.
Besides, after her recent breakthrough to Mid Third Rank, her Blood Hunting Ground points were also sufficient.
Although the reason she trained hard was to fight for Family resources, what remained was pushing toward Third Order Peak.
After saying all that, Vivian had Lorevil drink some Blood Supplement until her injuries mostly healed, then left.
“Phew, feeling good.”
Lorevil clenched her fist.
The blood energy nourishment brought by the breakthrough made her condition far better than before.
Getting up from the sickbed, Lorevil thought for a moment and mused inwardly:
‘I don’t lack Secret Arts for absorbing Blood Qi now, and I’ve mastered some fusion secret technique. The only thing missing is a reliable Blood Core weapon.
Leina’s Red Lotus, Fini’s Moon Blade… it’s time to exchange for a powerful Blood Core weapon.‘
Just as she stepped out of the Medical Room door, her peripheral vision caught a petite figure crouching in the corner of the corridor.
“Fini?”
Lorevil saw the girl hugging her knees, head drooping low, not knowing how long she’d been squatting there. Her pretty skirt was stained with dust.
“Lorevil, you’re finally out! I’ve been waiting for you for a while. I wanted to go in and find you, but I was afraid of disturbing your rest, so I waited outside.”
Fini looked up at the girl, then stood up, brushed the dust off her skirt, and said somewhat shyly.
“Waiting here for me?”
“If I had stayed in the Medical Room resting all day, would you have just waited here the whole time?”
Lorevil said with a helpless tone.
Fini scratched her head.
“Hehe.“
“Well, I happen to be heading to the Blood Hunting Ground’s exchange counter now. Want to come along?”
Lorevil extended a jade-like hand, inviting the cute girl.
The girl inexplicably blushed, then obediently reached out her small hand to hold hers.
“Hmm~ Hmm-hmm~”
With Leina not by her side, Fini couldn’t help humming a little tune, feeling joyful as she hopped and skipped behind Lorevil, temporarily casting aside her earlier worries and gloom.
Lorevil chuckled softly at the girl’s adorable demeanor.
And so, the two girls walked side by side toward the Blood Hunting Ground’s exchange counter.
Just as they happened to pass by the registration entrance, Isolde spotted a familiar figure at a glance.
With sharp eyes, she greeted a colleague beside her first, then walked over.
“Lorevil, is the Beast Tide this time over?”
“Yeah, I’m here to exchange rewards.”
Lorevil caught a faint, pleasant scent from the girl and subtly furrowed her brow.
The exchange counter of the Blood Hunting Ground, known as the Blood Hunt Treasure Pavilion, was located not far to the right of the registration entrance.
The four large characters “Blood Hunt Treasure Pavilion” on the door were bold and powerful, radiating presence.
Lorevil could sense a heavy sense of history.
And the one who oversaw this pavilion was a Fourth Order Mid Rank Vampire Mentor.
Anjie.
As the girls walked inside, they saw a beautiful teacher in a black robe sitting behind the pavilion counter, head lowered as she sorted through the exchange list.
“She’s here today to exchange for a Blood Core weapon.”
Isolde turned sideways to Mentor Anjie, giving a slight bow as she introduced.
Mentor Anjie raised her head, her gaze landing on Lorevil with some surprise.
“So it’s you.”
“Hello, Mentor Anjie. This is Lorevil, a Trainee of Holy Blood Academy.”
Isolde introduced.
As a Teacher, her information wasn’t outdated, and she’d naturally heard of Lorevil’s name before.
First, there was the Bet with the Mad Lion Vampire Clan, followed by the news of her breaking through to Mid Third Rank during the Beast Tide.
“Trainee Lorevil, Isolde should have explained the exchange rules of the Blood Hunt Treasure Pavilion to you. If your points are sufficient, just pick directly.”
“However, you’d better think carefully about which weapon you want to exchange for.”
“Understood.”
Lorevil replied.
“Then feel free to browse.”
With that, Lorevil’s gaze swept across the pavilion’s shelves.
All the weapons on display shimmered with Blood Qi, an array of dazzling options.
Bone-Devouring Scythe, Shadow Fang Dagger, Crimson Heavy Sword, Jingji Blood Whip…
They all gave her a strange sense of déjà vu—seemed a bit common, and their quality was uneven.
“Lorevil, have you spotted a weapon you like? Or do you have a specific preference in mind?”
Isolde asked in a soft voice.
“The stronger the lethality, the better, and the material needs to be tough…”
Lorevil answered without hesitation.
Because the Blood Line secret art she currently mastered was quite resilient, and Blood Blade could barely serve as a weapon, but in the end, she lacked a more powerful Blood Core weapon.
However, perhaps because her requirements were high, the Blood Core weapons displayed on the shelves ahead didn’t quite fit her needs.
Then, Lorevil’s gaze was drawn to an object at the very top of the shelf.
It was a solitary blade hilt.
Only its point cost was a bit high, and Isolde showed a troubled expression.
Seeing that Lorevil wasn’t satisfied with the current weapons, she wanted to recommend a few higher-tier ones.
But Lorevil’s gaze remained fixed on that object at the top of the shelf.
The hilt was pitch-black like ink, carved with exquisite and intricate patterns, embedded with a lively Blood Core.
Very archaic.
What was even stranger was—there was no blade at all?
She turned to look at Isolde, who seemed somewhat taken aback.
“You actually took a liking to this one?”
Lorevil reached out and took down the hilt.
It was slightly cool to the touch, but she could feel a subtle flow of Blood Qi, accompanied by a strong throb.
“Lorevil, this Hollow Edge Ancient Hilt is no ordinary item. Pushing it requires at least Mid Third Rank strength, and that’s just the most basic hard requirement.”
Just as Isolde finished speaking, Lorevil gave a faint smile.
A crimson flash flickered on her wrist, and two rings of Blood Mark emerged beneath her feet, carrying the pressure of Mid Third Rank.
The surprise on Isolde’s face froze, and she fell silent.
She knew Lorevil’s situation all too well. She just never imagined that in such a short time, Lorevil had already advanced to Mid Rank.
