Watching Vivian grumble angrily about the price increase of bread, Nolan seemed to think of something.
After thinking for a moment, he spoke carefully, “Regarding that, I might know the reason.”
“Don’t leave me hanging! Tell me, tell me!”
Vivian jumped straight up from her stool and pressed both hands onto Nolan’s shoulders. She shook him frantically, desperate to know the answer immediately. Her urgency was as if her eyebrows were on fire. This was a major matter concerning her quality of life, and she truly didn’t want any delay.
“Fine, fine, let go of me first.”
Nolan brushed Vivian’s hands off and spoke slowly. “I heard Priest Derek mention that a few days ago, a group of injured people came to the church for help. They said they were attacked by demons on the road outside the city. They all belonged to a merchant group called the Blue Whale Chamber of Commerce.”
“This merchant group mainly deals in Maan City’s agricultural products, like flour and sea fish. And even worse, after hearing about this, other merchant groups have chosen to bypass Maan City entirely. So, that might be why the price of bread in the city is rising.”
Nolan poured out his news and guesses all at once.
After listening, Vivian rubbed her smooth chin, her brain thinking fast. In other words, the increase in bread prices was actually the work of demons.
Then this would be easy to handle!
Vivian punched her palm, seemingly finding a direction to solve the problem.
‘I’ll just go up and give them two punches, taking out all the demons causing trouble. Without the demons interfering, the trade in Maan City will return to normal. The price of bread will naturally drop.’
Thinking of this, Vivian’s originally anxious mood relaxed. She thought it was some massive event that would leave her helpless.
‘What a waste of worry. Tomorrow when I go out to work, I’ll see if I can solve this on the way.’
Since coming to this world, Vivian had experienced what it meant to be invincible. So far, she hadn’t seen anything she couldn’t solve with a single punch—unless it was a target that couldn’t be hit by physical attacks.
Therefore, she would win.
“Where are the demons?”
A fire seemed to ignite in Vivian’s eyes.
Nolan was startled by Vivian’s sudden passion. ‘As expected of my wife. She really is a fellow traveler in a great cause, just like me. She’s always so dedicated to the matter of subjugating demons.’
Nolan nodded with relief. Then he spread his hands and answered helplessly, “I don’t know.”
He had only just heard about it and hadn’t had time to learn more details before he was dragged by Derek to move bricks in front of the rock pile.
“You useless man…” Vivian looked at her useless husband with disdain.
Nolan tilted his head. ‘Wait, this isn’t right. Is my wife really like this? She’s different from how she was on our wedding day… Can I still apply for a refund now?’

*Gurgle, gurgle.*
The hot water on the stove boiled, making a series of low sounds.
“I’m going to take a bath.”
Vivian stood up and threw those words out without waiting for Nolan’s response. She immediately got up, scooped a bucket of hot water, and walked into the small cubicle next to the stove.
Inside the cubicle was a large wooden tub for bathing. This small room was just a few wooden boards enclosed in a circle, with a long strip of cloth used as a curtain. It was simple, but it was enough.
The sound of *splashing* water came from the cubicle.
In the hall, Nolan quietly stared at the fire in the stove as if he were a monk in meditation, remaining motionless.
After a short while, Vivian walked out, trailing her long, damp hair. While drying her hair with a towel, she nagged, “It’s your turn. You’re starting to smell.”
She walked slowly behind Nolan and gave him a light kick. Only then did he snap back to his senses. He gave a response and stood up to head toward the cubicle.
“Throw your clothes in the basket. Wash your own underwear,” Vivian nagged again before Nolan entered the cubicle.
“Got it.”
The corners of Nolan’s mouth curled up slightly. He felt that at this moment, Vivian was more like his mother. He casually pulled off his outer garment and tossed it into the clothes basket, revealing firm, hard, but perfectly balanced muscle lines beneath his clothes.
He lifted the curtain and stepped into the cubicle.
Vivian turned her head inadvertently and accidentally saw this scene, her eyes widening instantly. The two fangs in her mouth began to tremble slightly.
‘This…’
Vivian stared blankly at Nolan’s broad back.
‘I really want to take a bite…’
After several seconds, the curtain of the cubicle obscured Nolan’s figure. Vivian quickly raised her hand to wipe away the saliva that was about to drip from the corner of her mouth and retracted her gaze.
‘Control yourself, Vivian,’ she reminded herself in her heart.
Vivian had already taken a large gulp of Nolan’s blood at the wedding last night. If she did it again tonight, wouldn’t Nolan be sucked into a dried corpse? She understood what a sustainable development strategy was. Draining the pond to catch the fish was absolutely unacceptable.
‘It’s just muscles, I have them too…’
Vivian reached out to her stomach and pinched the soft fat.
‘At least I used to have them…’

While Nolan was bathing, Vivian planned to do some housework. After all, if one didn’t take care of their living environment, the quality of life would decline. In that case, Vivian felt that life would be meaningless.
Even a vampire princess had pursuits…
Vivian picked up the basket full of dirty clothes and went to the wooden bucket in the corner. She poured all the dirty clothes in.
At that moment, Vivian stared at the clothes in the bucket and suddenly froze. Then, she sneakily looked back at the door of the cubicle like a mouse planning to steal food.
After confirming that no one had noticed, she, who was supposed to be washing clothes, inexplicably took out the clothes Nolan had just changed out of. She pressed the whole thing against her face and took a deep breath.
The linen fabric was mixed with a faint scent of masculine sweat. Vivian suddenly felt a wave of heat in her body.
‘No, this is too sinful!’
She quickly threw the clothes back into the bucket. The heart in her chest, which had been dead for a long time, seemed to start beating again. She pressed hard on her flat chest to calm the uneasy emotions in her heart.
After her emotions leveled out, she covered her face, feeling a bit embarrassed. ‘What am I doing? Making myself look like a pervert with some special hobby. It’s all the fault of this vampire body…’
Vivian scooped up clear water and splashed it on her face. Under the stimulation of the cold water, Vivian finally calmed down.
‘Time to wash the clothes!’
She banished all stray thoughts and focused her mind. She poured half a bucket of water into the wooden bucket filled with clothes. A ball of blood condensed out of thin air in her palm, and she tossed it into the bucket.
The clear water in the bucket was dyed red. Then, Vivian began to cast blood magic, controlling the mixed bloody water to rotate at high speed.
This was the “Vivian-brand portable washing machine” she had invented.
During a boring experiment once, Vivian discovered that although blood magic could not directly manipulate water, if a certain amount of blood was mixed into the water, she could indirectly control the water by manipulating the blood within it.
Based on this principle, she invented a washing machine exclusive to vampires. She no longer had to work hard scrubbing by hand like before.
Vivian then used magic to spin-dry the clothes and took them outside to hang them up.
‘Alright, time for bed…’
