“Why did you have to say I was afraid of the dark!” The two of them ran through the empty aquarium as Rakuraku complained.
Hanaka ignored her and began reciting the chant on her own.
A flash of stardust passed.
The long hair draped behind her was instantly combed into a neat high ponytail.
An elegant, noble magical costume.
Straight long boots on her feet.
In merely one breath, Magical Girl Seika had completed her transformation.
Rakuraku followed right after and also transformed into Sakuraraku.
The two of them sprinted through the enormous aquarium with their post-transformation leg strength.
Their footsteps sent out unsettling echoes through the empty space.
“Look over there!” Seika ran in front and was the first to discover a tourist collapsed on the ground.
She dashed forward and helped that tourist up.
“Are you okay? Can you stand?” Hanaka asked anxiously.
That tourist did not answer.
Suddenly he let out a dry cough, broke free of Seika, and knelt on the ground retching.
The sudden enormous strength made the unprepared Seika stumble back several steps.
Fortunately Sakuraraku caught her in time.
“He… looks a little off.” Sakuraraku had already condensed a longsword, ready to face an enemy at any moment.
The tourist kept retching.
From his mouth he spat out a clump of white sticky liquid, mixed with a few candy flakes.
The liquid seemed to have a will of its own and actually wrapped back around the tourist’s head in reverse.
The tourist staggered to his feet and lunged at the two of them.
Seika and Sakuraraku hurriedly dodged this pounce.
They only felt a wave of cloyingly sweet fragrance sweep through their nasal cavities.
The same thought flashed through both of their minds at the same time.
“It’s ice cream!”
Rakuraku sensed something and shouted at Seika.
“This is the ice cream from that shop called Aisukuirimu at the foot of Seika Tower!”
“What?!” In her shock, the arrows in Seika’s hands fired in succession.
In the second before they were about to hit the tourist they turned into golden ropes and bound the tourist firmly.
The tourist—no, he should now be called an ice cream monster—struggled and fell to the ground.
“You’re saying a monster used ice cream to parasitize the tourists?!” Hanaka pointed at the bound tourist.
“I think… that’s it.” Rakuraku also covered her mouth with a look of disgust.
“Actually Nadeshiko-chan and I ate it too… but Nadeshiko-chan is fine. I think the ice cream’s parasitism might have conditions.” Rakuraku continued.
“Maybe it’s because Nadeshiko stayed by our side…?” Hanaka touched her chin and pondered.
“Anyway, we have to finish this quickly. We have to control these ice cream monsters first.” She pointed at the ice cream monster lying on the ground.
“I’ll stay behind to protect Nadeshiko,” Rakuraku said. “In case Nadeshiko suddenly has some abnormality…”
A huge sound of glass shattering drew both of their attention.
Hanaka looked out the window.
At an altitude of 600 meters, the scene below made her hair stand on end.
Those tourists with their heads wrapped in ice cream, like the zombies in a zombie movie, chased in groups after the tourists who had not been parasitized.
Tourists who could not dodge in time were pounced on.
Ice cream entered their mouths and completed the parasitism in an instant.
They staggered to their feet like an army of the living dead and continued chasing their prey.
In the distance, the Demon Hunting Division special operations team that had arrived later was holding riot shields and high-pressure water guns, fighting against the ice cream monsters.
Because they were uncertain whether it would cause harm to civilians, they couldn’t even use Magic Pressure Rounds!
A burst of chaotic footsteps approached.
At the stairwell, the ice cream monsters seemed to have smelled their aura and ran toward the two of them with savage looks.
Sakuraraku and Seika glanced at each other and both saw resolve in the other’s eyes.
They had to fight their way from the top of the tower all the way to the bottom at the fastest speed.
After controlling the inside of the tower, they would immediately support the Demon Hunting Division.
