Frostsilver said as such, “I can’t teleport directly to the Violet Chamber; I can only get close first, then teleport for a surprise attack.”
“Only way,” Richard said. “I suspect it won’t be that smooth.”
Aurina was riding on his head, her two fingers and tail frantically tapping the screen, tapping with great delight, her face full of smiles as she occasionally let out laughter.
Frostsilver took out a scroll and said, “This is an invisibility scroll made by my family’s loyal servant, Frostfluff Yari—hehe, the value of mages lies in selling their lives for noble families.”
“Good, we’ll go invisible, climb over the walls, and approach.”
“What about her?” Frostsilver glanced sideways at the empire princess.
“Or use a lot of extra mana to give her flight or something.”
“You can switch to warrior mode, right?”
Frostsilver had a spell that could use magic to turn herself into a warrior.
Frostsilver said, “I don’t want to carry her, even if she’s the future empire empress.”
“If you don’t mind,” Richard extended his hand to the empire princess. “I’ll do it.”
The empire princess looked at his face under the faceplate; her originally confrontational attitude softened a bit, and she reached out to grab Richard’s hand.
Frostsilver cast the spell, touching the three one by one, and all four disappeared into the air. Only the swaying grass on the ground proved they still existed in the world.
Richard carried Aurina on his back and held the empire princess’s hand.
When they encountered palace walls, he used both arms to support her buttocks and push her up to the wall top.
Aurina sat on the wall top, groping around to pull the empire princess up.
Just like that, they climbed over eighteen palace walls.
Using the “secret eye,” an invisible flying “eye” overlooking the palace, Frostsilver shouted, “Stop.”
They stopped under the outer palace wall of the Violet Chamber; the onion-domed roof was already visible.
Richard’s voice came from the air, “Aurina, Aurina.”
“Ga?”
“You and the Yanting Empire Emperor… how’s the communication going?”
“Don’t know,” Aurina’s tail swished back and forth behind Richard.
“I can’t see this crystal screen anyway.”
Richard was startled. “Then all this time I’ve been hearing you tap, and you even laughed out loud occasionally.”
“Ga, simple, right? Just like talking to a female—I treated him as a female,” Aurina said. “Isn’t that simple?”
“Quick, let me see the phone.” Richard revealed his original form in the air.
Aurina also appeared in the air, her face showing a big smile, her two fingers and tail still tapping the screen.
Frostsilver then appeared and said, “This highlights the importance of leaving a backup plan.”
Richard raised his hand to snatch the phone, clumsily trying to view the chat history, but his hand was in plate gauntlets, with soft cowhide wrapping his fingers, and the screen didn’t respond.
Aurina’s tail came down; the thin tail tip, densely covered with tiny scales, forcefully swiped on the phone screen, going straight to the beginning of the conversation, then slowly scrolling down.
Richard looked at the chat log—it was completely like chickens talking to ducks. He couldn’t help but hold his forehead with one hand.
“You impersonated Frostsilver’s identity and talked about love?”
“Mm-hmm,” Aurina nodded. “Anyway, it’s not me.”
“Tyr above.” Richard looked at the chat log; the Yanting Empire Emperor was furious, while Aurina was still saying sweet nothings.
“You even said you’d give him gold as a witness to a lifetime together?”
“Anyway, it’s not me giving him the gold.”
Richard said, “You said to give the most precious thing to the most loved person—what was that? Heavens, he actually interpreted it as Frostsilver’s chaste virgin body and title and immeasurable wealth? And you agreed.”
Frostsilver’s face visibly darkened.
The empire princess really wanted to lean over and look at that magical item, but thinking that her relationship with everyone wasn’t that good yet, she reservedly looked elsewhere.
“Mm-hmm,” Aurina said. “I meant dragon seed—wouldn’t him getting pregnant with dragon seed be the most precious gift he could receive?”
“He’s male.”
“Doesn’t matter; this king treats him as a female.”
With that, Aurina’s agile tail tip continued scrolling down.
Richard laughed and cried.
“He really took it seriously and said he’d share half the crown with you, hold the grandest wedding in the world.”
Frostsilver said, “Enough; let’s act quickly. Today, the Yanting Empire Emperor absolutely cannot be left alive.”
At this point, the chat log reached the bottom. Richard looked and said, “The emperor says he won’t leave; he’s waiting for Aurina… that is, the impersonated Frostsilver, to bring everyone into the trap. He’s waiting in the Violet Chamber.”
“I see no one outside the Violet Chamber,” Frostsilver said. “It might be some kind of magic shielding.”
“Then what are we waiting for?” Richard looked at the phone screen.
“He’s urgently recalled over ten famous military nobles and has started setting traps. The inside of the chamber should be the weakest right now.”
“Hold my hand.”
Frostsilver snapped her fingers, and her staff disappeared.
She extended her slender fingers toward Richard and Aurina.
She wore elbow-length gloves, snow-white silk complementing her milky-white skin.
Richard said to the empire princess beside him, “Wait here for a bit. If we succeed, we’ll notify you. Please protect yourself well.”
“No,” the empire princess said. “I want to go with you.”
Frostsilver impatiently said, “Don’t cause trouble; in battle, you could die at any time, dragging us down.”
The empire princess said, “My father and I are not mortals.”
Richard said, “Frostsilver’s words are harsh, but in a battle of this level, it could injure Your Highness’s body. Please wait properly for the battle results.”
“No,” the empire princess said. “I won’t drag you down. Here, no one acknowledges me. I’m just an ordinary young woman, powerless to protect myself, could be violated at any time. But in the Violet Chamber, my birthplace, even if I die, I’m the returning empire princess.”
With that, her eyes became firm. “Who knows; I might even help somehow.”
Richard said, “We might have to kill your father right in front of you—do you need to avoid that?”
The empire princess said, “If I can see him die with my own eyes, I’ll be at peace.”
Richard was already numb; he felt he’d lost the ability to be surprised.
“Ready?” Frostsilver said. “Richard, you’re still so verbose, wasting time.”
Aurina patted her flat chest toward the empire princess and said, “Pretty sister, no problem; this king will protect you.”
The empire princess looked at Aurina complicatedly and said, “Thank you.”
“Then together,” Richard said. “Teleport.”
Frostsilver said, “The extra one, hold me.”
Aurina immediately jumped down from Richard’s head and hugged Frostsilver’s long legs in one go.
“Hey, not you—fine.”
Because she was afraid Aurina would take advantage, hugging the legs was okay; if she stole something valuable, that would be bad.
Frostsilver completed the group teleport at an unprecedented speed.
Aurina, hugging Frostsilver’s legs, only felt like she had fallen into an ocean vortex—the seawater wrapping her, slapping her, spinning rapidly. Sinking circle by circle into a dark abyss five or six kilometers in diameter.
She couldn’t help but hug Frostsilver’s warm, soft legs tighter.
Suddenly, a twisted blue light drove away all the darkness.
Aurina, who had originally wanted to take something from Frostsilver’s body full of “high-value auras,” immediately dismissed the idea.
Because she could feel the killing intent in the hall. There happened to be a snow-white palace pillar nearby, so Aurina leaped up and climbed onto it.
The spacious hall was bustling. The people from the northern peninsula whom they had met once on the sea—now the Varangian Guards—were all present. They lined up in two columns below the emperor’s throne high on the seat.
Over ten fully armed nobles knelt on one knee, having an audience with the emperor.
Not only that, behind them—that is, behind the two humans and two dragons who had just emerged from the twisted blue light—the plate-armored guards nearly filled the entire Violet Hall.
Aurina’s eyes swept over, and her hairs stood on end. Not easy-to-provoke bugs, but a fully equipped elite bug army.
In an instant, Aurina wanted to transform into her dragon form, reveal her true shape, and fly out from a window or something—of course, not out of fear. It was just that the great Dread Dragon, who could kill seven in one go, decided to first go to the treasury to collect her spoils.
But she glanced at the roof and felt it was very heavy, not like something she could casually rush out from a window to collect spoils in advance.
In short, this was different from what was said on the phone. Rather than the emperor setting a trap outside, it was more like the trap was indoors.
Could this king’s world-shocking wisdom actually have been seen through by this stupid little bug?
Aurina was startled.
At this moment, the emperor on the high throne sensed the intruders first. He immediately turned his head and exclaimed, “Daughter?!”
The voice was booming, overly booming. Clearly at the banquet, he hadn’t spoken so loudly. It was as if this Violet Chamber was alive, breathing with the Yanting Empire Emperor, an extension of his will.
Almost everyone below looked over.
At this time, the empire princess suddenly shouted with all her might, “Father!”
The kneeling nobles and Varangian Guards below then turned their heads, looking at the empire princess and the other three uninvited guests in front of them.
Is this the side to ambush?
This thought had just popped into the most alert person’s mind.
Richard directly and decisively waved his hand, commanding, “Charge! Charge!”
With that, he took big strides, charging straight at the Yanting Empire Emperor.
Even the cowardly mount was going to fight.
“Ga!” Aurina yelled loudly, leaping down from the pillar onto Richard’s shoulder, shouting, “Charge!”
The Varangian Guards, well-trained, directly formed a shield wall blocking toward Richard.
Frostsilver also reacted immediately, chanting a spell, “Flight!”
Aurina then felt the mount beneath her fly up; he leaped over the shield wall in one bound.
A court mage acted; he chanted a spell, staring fixedly at the flying Aurina and Richard.
A green light hit his head; he opened his mouth wide, green light cracks spreading on his face, and in an instant, he turned to dust.
Another court mage tried to act; Frostsilver reacted, shooting a magnificent red ray, directly countering his spell.
She alone could suppress all the casters on the Yanting Empire Emperor’s side.
Aurina, riding on Richard’s head in flight, directly breathed flames downward, creating chaos.
“You think you can kill me?”
The Yanting Empire Emperor’s voice thundered like thunder, pointing at Richard.
The substantial imperial majesty came head-on. Aurina felt nothing; the flying mount beneath her also showed no wavering.
