Suddenly, Elder Selina entered the Training Ground.
She paused for a moment upon seeing the scene before her, but she showed no further reaction. She simply bowed and said, “Your Highness, I heard there was some trouble here…”
Her gaze fell on the red marks on Kiz’s shoulder.
Elia immediately went into performance mode. She let go of Kiz, stood up, and lowered her head slightly. “It was my fault… I accidentally hurt Her Highness during training.”
“Accidentally?” Selina asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes. Her Highness was just teaching me Swordsmanship, and I failed to control my strength for a moment.”
Selina glanced at Kiz and saw that she had stood up. Although her face was still a bit pale, she had already regained her usual cold and noble demeanor.
“It’s a small matter. Elia has already treated it for me,” Kiz said flatly.
“That is good. However, Princess, you are scheduled to meet the border envoys this afternoon, and in your current state…”
“I will change my clothes. Besides, the wound has already healed; it won’t affect anything.”
“Understood.” Selina bowed and turned to leave.
Once she was far enough away, Kiz finally relaxed and patted her chest.
“That was a quick switch,” Elia teased from the side.
Kiz glared at her and snapped, “It’s all because of you!”
“Yes, yes, it’s all my fault… What should we do now? Go back and change?” Elia decided not to argue with Her Highness.
“…Yes.”
The two of them then left the Training Ground where the bloodshed had just occurred.
—
After returning to the Sleeping Palace, Kiz went straight into the bathroom while Elia sat on the sofa outside, waiting for her.
Before long, the bathroom door opened.
Kiz emerged, having changed into a new dress… Honestly, Lolita style clothing seemed to be her unchanging Ancestral Laws.
Her hair was still a bit damp, but it had been combed neatly.
She sat down at the dressing table and began to tidy her appearance.
Elia leaned her head to the side, watching the little Princess in the mirror. Her face was still a bit pale, but it was much better than before. As for her eyes, which were still a bit red from crying, a little powder should be enough to cover it up.
“By the way, do you need help?” Elia asked.
Kiz shook her head.
“Oh.” Elia then stood behind her, watching as she gradually restored her image to that of the perfect Blood Princess.
Finally, Kiz put on a small Black Crown.
Even though she still had a petite body, she now possessed an air of nobility and cold elegance that had been missing moments ago.
“I am going to meet the envoys. You… wait for me in the room.”
Elia nodded and said, “Okay.”
At that moment, the little Princess clearly wanted to say something, but in the end, she said nothing and simply turned to leave the room.
The moment the door closed, Elia went to the window and looked outside.
In the garden, several maidservants were pruning the plants. In the distance, the spires of the Vampire Castle sparkled in the sunlight. Everything looked so peaceful.
However, her mind was a chaotic mess.
What happened today was simply too outrageous. She never dreamed that she would actually have the opportunity to drink Kiz’s blood a second time…
Her previous threats about biting Kiz if she didn’t behave were just that — threats meant to scare her. She had never actually intended to bite the little Princess.
It wasn’t just because she was a human, but also because… this kind of act was a bit too intimate, and the two of them didn’t have that kind of relationship.
As for Elia herself, she simply liked vampire girls; she had truly never thought about developing that kind of relationship with her.
But now, under the influence of this Blood Contract, it seemed they were gradually developing that kind of relationship… ‘What does my heart think about this?’
She didn’t know. She really didn’t know.
—
A while later, Kiz returned from the meeting.
She had already removed her crown, and her expression was exhausted. As soon as she entered, she kicked off her high-heeled shoes and collapsed onto the sofa.
“Is it over?” Elia asked.
“Mmh…” Kiz closed her eyes as she spoke. “What a bunch of annoying people. It was just some border friction, but they insisted on making it sound like a war was about to break out.”
“So, will there be a war?”
“I don’t know. We’ll see. If the humans don’t know what’s good for them, we’ll beat them back.” Kiz rubbed her temples forcefully. “By the way, you drank three cups of blood earlier… was it enough?”
Kiz paused for a moment. “To be honest, it wasn’t.”
“Then what should we do?”
The little Princess remained silent for a few seconds before standing up, walking to the door, and snapping her fingers. A few minutes later, a human maidservant walked in.
She was a young girl who looked to be around 20 years old.
“Your Highness,” she whispered.
Kiz didn’t say a single unnecessary word. She simply leaned down and bit the girl’s neck.
The girl let out a short gasp, and then her body involuntarily went limp… yet Kiz continued to drink.
The Saint sat on the bed, watching quietly.
However, Kiz began to drink more aggressively. The girl’s face grew paler and paler until almost all color had drained from it. Her eyes rolled back, and her body began to twitch — typical symptoms of excessive blood loss.
But Kiz was still drinking.
It wasn’t until the girl completely lost consciousness that she finally let go.
Then, she raised her hand and pressed it against the girl’s neck, healing the fresh bite wound.
Despite the healing, the girl remained unconscious.
“Take her down to rest. Also… prepare some Blood Replenishment Potions for her.”
Another maidservant entered the room, picked up the unconscious girl, and quickly departed.
Afterward, Kiz licked the blood from the corner of her mouth and sat down at the dressing table. Through the mirror, she saw the Saint watching her.
“What are you looking at?” she asked.
“Nothing. I just thought you were quite fierce just now.”
“I am a member of the Blood Clan. Drinking blood is the nature of the Blood Clan.”
“But you almost drained her to death…”
“She isn’t dead, is she?”
“She was close.”
Kiz turned her head to look at Elia. “Are you sympathizing with her?”
“No, I just think it was a bit much…”
“Oh? A bit much? Humans don’t think it’s ‘a bit much’ when they kill us. They use Silverware and Holy Water… those who are killed by such things suffer much more than she did before they die. Besides, it isn’t like I didn’t give her anything in return. I provide her family with wealth and honor, and I let her live a life free of worries by my side.”
Elia stopped talking.
She shouldn’t have tried to argue this point with Kiz. After all, Kiz was the Princess of the Blood Clan; it was impossible to expect her to feel pity for a human.
Besides, Elia didn’t actually pity the girl. She just inexplicably wanted to protect the soft persona Kiz maintained in front of her… ‘It’s such a childish reason.’
Kiz turned back around and continued to tidy her hair in the mirror.
“This is just how the world works… the Law of the Jungle. Humans kill us when they are strong, and we kill humans when we are strong. There is no right or wrong, only different perspectives,” Kiz said while brushing her hair.
In this moment, Kiz was calm and rational, perhaps even a bit cold.
However, she was speaking the truth. At least, it was the truth in this world.
“Yes, you’re right,” Elia said.
Kiz was stunned for a moment. She hadn’t expected Elia, as the human Saint, to agree with her words. She had already prepared herself to be lectured by Elia… The Saint’s reaction made her feel a bit foolish.
Of all the humans she knew, not one would have agreed with her.
“You… don’t you think I’m cruel?”
“Cruel is cruel. But you’re right, it’s a matter of perspective… You are the Blood Princess. Protecting your people and fighting for their interests is your responsibility. As for your methods, they only need to be effective.”
Kiz remained silent for a long time before whispering, “…Thank you.”
“For what?”
“Thank you… for understanding me.”
Elia smiled and walked over to stand behind Kiz, resting her hands on her shoulders.
“However, I still hope you’ll be gentler when you drink blood in the future.”
“Why?”
“Because…” Elia leaned down and whispered into her ear, “you belong to me. I don’t like seeing you look so brutal.”
The tips of Kiz’s ears instantly turned red. She shouted, “Who—Who belongs to you!”
“You do. The contract is signed, so you are mine. Therefore, you must listen to me, understand?”
“I don’t understand.”
“Say that again? I didn’t hear you clearly,” Elia said with a smile.
Seeing this, Kiz quickly corrected herself. “I understand! I understand!”
Elia ruffled her hair and said, “Then it’s time for us to eat dinner… By the way, since you just drank blood, you shouldn’t be hungry, right?”
“I’m not.”
“But I am. So, come with me to dinner.”
“No.”
“Hmm?”
“…Fine, I’ll go.”
Kiz stood up and reluctantly followed Elia out of the room.
