Bai Yue Ling carefully read the post’s contents, and as expected, it was from the Sky Treader Guild.
“We’re members of Sky Treader Guild. That Slime BOSS was supposed to be ours! But when we had it down to low health, this ‘Priest Hero’ jumped in and one-shot both us and the BOSS with a single Holy Light Orb! Everyone knows Holy Light Orb is a low-damage starter skill for priests. So, ‘Priest Hero,’ if you weren’t cheating, how did you wipe out 19 of us with one Holy Light Orb?!”
The post heavily emphasized the absurdly powerful Holy Light Orb, making it sound like cheating at first glance.
But World of Fate was a game where cheating was impossible.
Bai Yue Ling’s high damage came from her 99 Spirit stat, the sole reward of surviving ten life-or-death cycles.
Explaining that would be too far-fetched—no one would believe her.
So, she decided not to bother.
Scrolling further, she saw why the post had so many replies: Sky Treader’s PR team was spamming it with comments like:
“Priest Hero stole our mob and cheated—despicable!”
“Let’s report Priest Hero and get her account banned!”
“Give the World First Kill achievement back to Sky Treader!”
Of course, there were plenty of dissenting voices, including players who’d been bullied by Sky Treader and rival guilds piling on:
“If you think she’s cheating, report her to Fate’s devs. What’s the point of whining on the forum?”
“Maybe Priest Hero’s actually a mage, and it wasn’t a Holy Light Orb?”
“Sounds like one-sided nonsense. I’m not buying it.”
“Big guild bullying solo players again—everyone, run!”
“Mad about failing to steal the BOSS?”
Even Ying Ye chimed in: “Sky Treader’s just a second-rate guild.”
Scrolling further, a few solo players mentioned that Sky Treader had stolen the BOSS first, but their comments were quickly drowned out by Sky Treader’s PR team.
Bai Yue Ling tried to flip to the next page but saw a notification.
[This post has been deleted by forum admin “Fox Sis” for inciting conflict.]
The post was gone?
Seems the forum admin couldn’t stand such one-sided accusations either.
Back on the forum homepage, Bai Yue Ling noticed the discussion about her had died down.
Most posts now were bashing Sky Treader, with some from the solo players killed in the BOSS room vividly describing how Sky Treader had deceived them.
The MMO community’s been fed up with Sky Treader for ages…
Bai Yue Ling sighed, closing the forum.
She found these arguments pointless but amusing—good for passing time and learning how to trash-talk, but not worth obsessing over since most posts lacked substance.
“Time for some fun gaming!”
Bai Yue Ling cleaned her dishes, stretched, and climbed back into the gaming pod.

[Welcome to World of Fate.]
Back in the castle, Ying Ye was already online, pestering Ming Die with questions, trying to dig up hidden game lore.
But Ming Die was tight-lipped—or maybe just forgetful.
No matter what Ying Ye asked, she replied with a vague “I forgot” or scratched inside her clothes with a dazed look, leaving Ying Ye helpless.
Bai Yue Ling jogged over to Ying Ye.
“Thanks for sticking up for me on the forum.”
Ying Ye blinked.
“No need to thank me. I can’t stand those Sky Treader folks either.”
Bai Yue Ling asked, “Got some bad blood with them?”
“Yeah… in another MMO, I looted a top-tier dagger, and Sky Treader’s people found out. They chased me through three streets,” Ying Ye recalled.
“Their intel network is huge, with spies everywhere. Be careful once we leave the beginner village.”
Bai Yue Ling scoffed.
“A guild that’s only good for numbers—nothing to worry about.”
Having gone through ten cycles, she knew that in the late game, the gap between top players and average ones was massive, far beyond what numbers could overcome.
Rather than bloating membership, nurturing a few elites was the real strategy.
Ying Ye pulled out a pitch-black dagger.
“This is my mission reward, called Sting of Pain. What’d you get, Little White?”
“Let’s see…”
Bai Yue Ling swapped out her starter staff and pulled a slender, pale purple staff from her inventory.
[Equipment Name: Staff of Sorrow]
[Quality: Excellent]
[Attack Power: Weak]
[Equip Conditions: Spirit 15]
[Attribute Bonus: Spirit B]
[Additional Skill: “Sorrow Infusion” – Forcibly imbues the target with overwhelming sadness.]
[Description: A staff that evokes sorrow, tinged with a faint curse. Why would a priest, meant to bring blessings, choose to curse others?]
[Note: Rumor has it those who wield this staff love opening certain music apps in the dead of night.]
“Staff of Sorrow, Sting of Pain—such edgy, dark-themed names,”
Bai Yue Ling remarked, pulling out her other mission reward.
[Item Name: Dark Faction Oath]
[Quality: Perfect]
[Description: Proof of allegiance to the dark.]
[Note: A black badge you can wear, but who’d be dumb enough to flaunt this in public?]
“Wearing this in a world full of Light-aligned players is just asking for a beating,” Bai Yue Ling quipped.
“The Dark Faction’s such a trap, right, Ying Ye?”
She looked up to see Ying Ye staring at her, eyes scanning her from head to toe.
Though her petite frame was fully covered by the bulky starter priest robe, a closer look revealed it left plenty to the imagination.
The fabric draped from the collar, ballooning out at her chest due to its… prominence, then hanging like a curtain, leaving a hollow space between her skin and the cloth.
What kind of view was hidden in there?
Ying Ye really wanted to hold her and find out.
Recalling the feeling of grasping Little White’s slim waist on the suspension bridge, Ying Ye’s breathing grew slightly heavier.
“Little White…” Ying Ye said earnestly, “Since you’ve upgraded your equipment, it’s time to get some better-fitting clothes.”
Preferably ones with… chest pockets.
“Huh? Oh, yeah…”
Bai Yue Ling nodded blankly.
She’d noticed her clothes didn’t fit well.
The loose robe let cool air slip in during movement, irritating her skin.
Each class’s starter outfits came in various styles—some conservative, some skimpy, some for flat chests, others for… larger ones.
But the system had defaulted to this bulky priest robe, and Bai Yue Ling hadn’t had a choice.
She really needed new clothes.
But what to pick?
There weren’t any clothing stores here…
Pondering, Bai Yue Ling’s gaze landed on the dozing Ming Die, her eyes lighting up.
Her outfit looked pretty nice, didn’t it?
