Sistana? The level 80 Great Archbishop of Nature? A thousand-year-old veteran of the Divine War?
Since when did she have an illegitimate daughter?
Taima froze for a moment, then realized, her anger flaring, “You damned Otherworld Traveler, daring to trick me?!”
How could an Otherworld Traveler be the illegitimate daughter of a Destiny World native?
Yet Bai Yue Ling remained unfazed, saying calmly, “Dry daughter, that is.”
“Dry daughter?”
Taima’s cold gaze locked onto Bai Yue Ling, her detection skill activating silently. Only then did she notice the name: Priest Hero.
Priest Hero… She’d heard at noon about a Priest Hero purifying the Forest of Nature. This must be her.
But how could a level 20 priest accomplish such a feat?
It had to be Sistana, for some reason, giving her all the credit for purifying the forest.
Seeing Bai Yue Ling’s fearless demeanor, could it be… she really was Sistana’s dry daughter?
Taima’s face burned with rage, but her mind stayed cool and calculating.
Though she was the kingdom’s general, she couldn’t afford to cross the Great Archbishops, especially Sistana, the level 80 powerhouse among them.
In her view, this Otherworld Traveler’s boldness surely stemmed from a powerful backer—undoubtedly Sistana.
Even if she wasn’t Sistana’s dry daughter, their relationship was clearly extraordinary.
There was no need to make an enemy of the Great Archbishop of Nature over a mere Otherworld Traveler, especially at such a critical time.
In an instant, countless thoughts flashed through Taima’s mind, and her clenched fist slowly relaxed.
“Otherworld Traveler, watch your words in the future and stop spouting delusional nonsense.”
With that, Taima strode past them, her steps firm, as if nothing had happened.
Watching Taima’s retreating figure, Huilian let out a sigh of relief.
“Little White, how could you provoke her like that? If she wanted to kill you, I couldn’t protect you.”
Bai Yue Ling shook her head, “She may seem ruthless and bloodthirsty, but she’s meticulous and considers consequences. The bolder I act, the more suspicious she becomes.”
Huilian paused, giving a wry smile, “Even if I’d thought of that, I wouldn’t dare do it.”
“Normal, because I’m an Otherworld Traveler with infinite chances.”
The two chatted as they walked, soon arriving at the collection room.
Huilian pulled out a royal emblem from her pocket and pressed it against the heavy door. With a buzz, the door split open, revealing a deep tunnel descending below.
“Don’t touch anything inside,” Huilian cautioned, “Many of Mother’s collections are dangerous and heavily protected.”
Bai Yue Ling patted her chest, “Don’t worry, I’m not the idiot teammate in movies who causes disasters after being told not to touch anything.”
At the end of the tunnel, they entered a vast room filled with all sorts of peculiar items, each encased in glass displays with names neatly labeled below.
Huilian carefully searched and soon retrieved the three materials.
[Item Name: Dew of Corruption]
[Quality: Perfect]
[Description: Extracted from the edge of the abyss, this emits a decaying aura. Often used in crafting equipment or potions, it can affect the user’s mind.]
[Item Name: Tears of the Wraith]
[Quality: Perfect]
[Description: Tears shed by wandering spirits before entering the Styx, granting users spectral powers, enhancing flexibility and agility in battle.]
[Item Name: Dark Ore]
[Quality: Perfect]
[Description: Mined from the depths of the Underground World’s veins, it radiates a dark aura. Equipment crafted from it makes the user tougher and stronger.]
Storing the three job advancement materials in her inventory, the corresponding items were crossed off her quest log, clearly showing what was collected and what wasn’t.
Bai Yue Ling thought happily, Once the teleportation array is built, I’ll return to Novice Village for the Styx Water. Four materials down, job advancement is just around the corner!
Once I become a succubus, I’ll drain all you big sisters dry!
Suddenly, her gaze fell on the job advancement quest tab, which read: [Current Dark Fall Count: 8/10].
Bai Yue Ling froze. Eight people? That wasn’t right… She’d only added Qing Jin, which should make seven. Why was there an extra one?
“Dark Lisa, do you know what’s going on?”
“I’m not sure,” Dark Lisa replied, equally puzzled, “It’s possible someone near you was tainted by dense Dark Fall energy, so they were counted, like Sistana.”
Bai Yue Ling relaxed, “Whatever, it’s not a bad thing. I’ll figure out who it is when I meet them.”
Exiting the collection room, the two left the vicinity of Qing Jin’s palace, and Bai Yue Ling retrieved her equipment.
“It’s late, Little White. Rest early,” Huilian said.
Bathed in moonlight, Huilian exhaled softly and said, “About your ideas for world peace, I don’t share Taima’s views. Since you purified the Forest of Nature and can heal an incurable illness, this time, I’ll believe in you.”
Bai Yue Ling tilted her head playfully, “So you’re saying you support me conquering the world?”
Huilian nodded, her flowing black hair swaying in the moonlight, a gentle smile on her face.
“I can tell you’re a good person, Little White. If you can really do it, go for it. I’ll support you!”
With that, she waved goodbye and disappeared into the palace’s depths.
Watching Huilian’s retreating figure, Bai Yue Ling mused.
Huilian seems the least likely to resist Dark Fall. If she saw its power…
As a sage of peace, Huilian wouldn’t care about falling into darkness if it meant achieving world peace.
But could Dark Fall truly bring peace?
Perhaps it depended on the person, but for Bai Yue Ling, the answer was a resounding yes.
Because her favorite thing was big sisters living together harmoniously.
Stepping through the moonlight, Bai Yue Ling reflected on today’s gains while pondering her route out of the palace.
Suddenly, a cool breeze brushed her face.
With the breeze, a vibrant red rose floated before her. A graceful bird swooped in, delicately picking up the flower, then transformed instantly into a stunning young woman.
“Little White, all done with your errands?”
Shi Qianla’s voice, laced with leisure and delight, filled Bai Yue Ling’s ears. She gently wrapped an arm around Bai Yue Ling’s slender waist, smiling as she placed the rose in her hand, whispering softly by her flushed ear:
“Now, it’s time for just the two of us~♡”
