Li Jue first touched the computer tower.
There was not the slightest sign of heat.
Then she turned on the computer.
Ying An stood timidly to the side, trembling with fear, his heartbeat already risen to his throat.
He watched Li Jue open the settings.
Although she entered several pages he could not understand, he could only see a few words such as control panel and event logs.
He also did not know whether she had discovered it or not.
“Alright, go out first. Sister is going to cook. Xiao An can watch some television.”
Li Jue’s reaction did not change even a little, as if she had not discovered the matter of him secretly playing on the computer.
Ying An secretly let out a breath of relief.
“Then can I still play on the computer tonight?”
“We’ll talk about it after eating.”
During the meal Li Jue kept observing Ying An’s reaction.
The little one still thought his act of deceiving the heavens and crossing the sea had succeeded, and he even ate especially quickly.
She also did not know whether he had suddenly repented halfway through playing, or whether he had simply not dared to play for too long.
The startup time Li Jue saw from the operation logs was only a little over twenty minutes.
The time she had been out had been two or three hours.
“Eating so fast—are you thinking of finishing early so you can go play games?”
“The food is just too delicious. Sister’s cooking is really good. Hehe.”
Ying An grinned foolishly and told a small lie.
“No matter how fast you eat it won’t help. Xiao An is not allowed to touch Sister’s computer for the next month.”
“Why?!” He did not believe Li Jue had discovered his crime.
“What do you think?”
Ying An dejectedly lowered his head, as if he no longer even had the strength to eat.
After finishing the meal, when Li Jue called him to go out for a walk he had almost no reaction and only shook his head saying he would not go.
She could only pull him along to watch some television together.
Looking at his dispirited appearance, Li Jue extended a tail and stroked his cheek.
The fluffy sensation made him itchy.
“Is Xiao An thinking that if he had known earlier he would have played a little longer in the afternoon, since he was going to get caught by Sister anyway?”
“I only played for a little while. Really, Sister. Just don’t punish me.”
“No. Sister means what she says.” Li Jue’s attitude was firm.
It had not been easy for her to find a reason to keep Ying An from touching the computer.
“But last time you went back on your word and even spanked my butt.”
“Sister is a bad woman. Sometimes she keeps her word, and sometimes she doesn’t.”
“Teachers also say parents are role models for their children. Aren’t you afraid I’ll learn bad things from you?”
“It doesn’t matter. If Xiao An learns bad things then Sister will just keep spanking your butt and see whether she can spank you into being good.”
Ying An knew he could not out-talk Li Jue.
He had never been able to out-talk her.
No matter what the matter was, she always had the final right of interpretation.
Yet he still could not help thinking that if that night he had not called her a bad woman, would she have one less reason to bully him?
The television screen was playing Painted Skin, a rather classic domestic ancient-style fantasy film.
Ying An had little interest.
In his heart he was still thinking about his Plants vs. Zombies.
He had already reached the final stage of Adventure Mode and had lost twice at the hands of Dr. Zomboss.
He had originally planned to battle for another three hundred rounds tonight, but now it would have to be postponed for a month.
He would have to be George Edgar’s defeated subordinate for a month.
He could not help staring at Li Jue’s side profile, wanting to say something to try to salvage the situation a little more.
Her face was so beautiful it seemed a little unreal, white just right, without a single flaw.
Her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth were perfect as if carefully polished.
This face seemed to possess a kind of magic that made people more and more entranced the more they looked.
Only when she had no expression, this face looked as if it carried a proud and cold disregard for all living beings.
“Sis…”
“If it’s about the computer, Xiao An had better not say any more.” Li Jue had already predicted what he was going to say.
Ying An lowered his head and remained silent for a while.
Amid his wild thoughts he suddenly had an idea. “Can you give me the phone for a while? I want to chat with Sister Jiuer.”
“What do you want to chat with her about?”
“I just want to talk to her a little. Just give it to me. Only for a little while.”
Li Jue was quite curious what business Ying An could have with Chu Jiuer.
Although at Ying An’s age he was probably not interested in her that way, this situation of wanting to contact another woman right in front of her still made Li Jue very uncomfortable.
Especially since he took the phone and ran to the balcony, deliberately avoiding her.
She turned off the sound of the television, controlled her demon power to flow in her eardrums, and amplified her hearing several times over.
Sitting in the living room she could still hear the conversation between Ying An and Chu Jiuer.
“Hello, Sister Jiuer.”
“It’s Xiao An. Why are you calling me? Missed Sister?”
“Mm-hmm, I did. I missed you a lot. That… Sister Jiuer, do you have a computer over there?”
“Of course I do. What does Xiao An want to say?”
“Then can you let me play for a while? Sister won’t let me touch her computer anymore.”
…The little one’s idea made Li Jue not know whether to laugh or cry.
He really had schemes, turning his abacus toward Chu Jiuer.
And it coincidentally matched Chu Jiuer’s own thoughts, actively delivering himself to her door.
Based on Li Jue’s understanding of Chu Jiuer, with that airheaded personality of hers, she would probably even be capable of taking Ying An out drinking until they were both hungover.
If she let him stay at her place for two days, who knew how wild it would become.
Yet Li Jue did not immediately expose him.
She wanted to wait until she could catch them red-handed.
Chu Jiuer did not disappoint her.
Not only did she decisively agree to Ying An, she even reminded the little one to be careful and cautious and not let her discover it.
After Ying An finished the call and returned, Li Jue suppressed her anger and tried her best to keep her expression gentle. “What did Xiao An talk about with her?”
“Nothing much. Just chatted randomly.”
“Tell me. Sister wants to know. What is there for Xiao An to chat about with her?”
“Just… just nothing. I’m going to sleep first. Sister, good ni—” Ying An was afraid that the more he said the more he would lose, and urgently wanted to escape.
But Li Jue grabbed his wrist in one move, forcibly pulled him to sit beside her, and also tightly wrapped her tail around his waist.
“You’re not allowed to run. First finish talking with Sister. You’re so nervous—did you say bad things about Sister and are afraid of being found out?”
“Absolutely not. Sister is such a good person. How could I say bad things?”
“Then why are you running?” Li Jue furrowed her brow and stared into Ying An’s eyes.
The boy did not dare meet her gaze, and his speech also became stammering. “I, I want to go out and play with Sister Jiuer. You won’t let me play on the computer, so I want to go outside.”
“Just now when I wanted to take you for a walk you wouldn’t go. Now you’ve changed your mind again, and you even want to go with another woman. How is she better than Sister?”
It was a fatal question.
No matter how Ying An thought he could not come up with a suitable answer.
He was also being forced by Li Jue’s fierce gaze, making him muddle-headed.
He simply gave up. “I don’t know, I don’t know. I don’t know. Sister, don’t ask me anymore.”
“Fine. I won’t ask you.”
Li Jue directly took out her phone and called Chu Jiuer. “Hello. What did Xiao An just say to you?”
“Nothing much. He just asked me to take him out to play for two days.”
“Did he not say why he wanted to go with you?”
The previous question Ying An had coordinated with Chu Jiuer.
This later one was not.
He was also extremely nervous right now, afraid that Chu Jiuer would say an answer that would anger Li Jue.
Chu Jiuer likewise did not disappoint his expectations.
“Xiao An said I’m better looking, so he just wanted to go with me.”
