“No? Who are you? Are we very familiar?”
Lilith carefully examined the figure projected in the waterfall.
Although the Saintess said it had been a long time, she couldn’t recall where she had met this Saintess.
This was definitely not senile dementia; Lilith remembered events from the past decade or so with particular clarity.
The familiar voice just now startled Lilith; she had thought this Saintess might be one of the girls she had a romantic relationship with in the past.
The voice was a bit familiar, but the appearance didn’t match at all.
That old flame wasn’t as pretty as this Saintess.
And didn’t have such prominent breasts!
This Saintess wore an ocean-blue crown, her long, light-blue hair cascaded down, and a magnificent, pure white clerical robe enveloped her body.
Even with her face slightly blurred by the water, she could be called peerless.
Dignified and holy, her eyes filled with compassion for all beings in the world.
Indeed, she looked exactly like a Saintess should.
She was completely different from that blonde girl who was always making unreasonable demands, acting like a shut-in at home, and relying entirely on Lilith’s work to support her.
Hmm… thinking of her, it’s been about ten years since I left that shut-in, hasn’t it?
I wonder if that girl has been working hard…
Ten years have passed… surely she’s learned not to be lazy and to support herself now?
If I travel with Cecilim later, I’ll stop by the monastery where I left her and inquire about her.
This made Lilith breathe a slight sigh of relief, thinking it was good that it wasn’t a past girlfriend coming to find her after a breakup.
The girl she had mercilessly abandoned turned into a Saintess ten years later.
Haha, what kind of dream am I having? This isn’t some novel about a revenge-seeking ex or a party-leaving protagonist.
How could that be possible?!
“…”
A kind smile remained on the Saintess’s face as always; she didn’t respond to Lilith’s questioning.
But the nearby Selunia couldn’t sit still.
This vampire dared to be so presumptuous in front of the Saintess.
What “who are you”?!
Before you stands one of the foremost Saint-level powerhouses of today! The actual leader of the Eastern Church of the Creation God Sect!
Show some respect!
“You rude vampire!”
“Selunia, this is my guest.”
The Saintess’s gentle voice interrupted Selunia’s impending outburst of anger.
“Ah… I’m sorry, Saintess… I lost my composure.”
Lilith raised an eyebrow.
She noticed that Selunia next to her, who had been baring her fangs at her, looked at the water projection with…eyes full of longing and adoration.
Tsk tsk, what a difference in treatment.
She had originally thought this little kitten-like girl would put on a sour face, as if everyone owed her money, no matter who she met.
But after all, she grew up in a monastery, and the nuns here probably have a special admiration for the Saintess who presides over this place.
“Selunia, help me arrange the runes by the spring to start the ritual. I need to project my avatar back… you can wait outside later; I need to discuss some important matters with this old friend.”
“Yes, Saintess.”
Selunia eagerly went to the spring to adjust the light-blue runes surrounding the sacred spring.
But does the Saintess even know this vampire?
Hmph, it’s probably just some story about the Saintess encountering this vulgar and shameless vampire during her travels and then teaching her a lesson!
Nothing worth paying attention to.
“I apologize, this child has a considerable hostility towards the Blood Clan due to family changes in her youth… especially with what’s been happening in the city recently.”
“I hope you won’t hold it against her.”
After instructing Selunia on her task, the Saintess’s gaze drifted to Lilith, who was watching Selunia’s figure.
The Saintess’s beautiful willow-like eyebrows twitched imperceptibly to those present.
But she quickly composed herself and nodded slightly in Lilith’s direction as an apology.
“And thank you, even though our Inquisition mistakenly targeted and wronged you.”
“And for sparing the executing nuns of the Inquisition.”
“Unfortunately, I am currently burdened with a great responsibility, dealing with the loosening seal of the ‘Utopia’, and am far away, unable to return in time to apologize.”
“Normally, for a strong individual of your caliber, I should have been much more thoughtful.”
“However, due to the urgency of the situation, we can only meet privately for now.”
“Please forgive any breaches of etiquette.”
The Saintess’s sincere attitude made Lilith feel a bit embarrassed.
So she waved her hand, indicating that she didn’t mind the slight unpleasantness earlier.
After all, she had flirted with so many girls in the monastery… she had already gotten her money’s worth.
“Your Holiness, please don’t be concerned; I understand your difficulties. That’s why I accepted your invitation to discuss how to deal with the disruptive Blood Clan in the city.”
Lilith lifted the hem of her nun’s habit and bowed to the Saintess, showing respect for the superior in front of her.
It wasn’t strange for the leader of a faction to be aware of her true situation.
Moreover, she wasn’t always going to act perverse.
If the other party was so polite, and she didn’t return the appropriate courtesy, then she would be the one in the wrong.
Do what’s right when it’s right.
This was Lilith’s vampire creed; even her ‘yellow’ antics had to be done at the right time.
It was just this Saintess calling her an “old friend”… which made Lilith a bit confused.
But for now, she was too lazy to think about it.
Perhaps this Saintess had seen her heroic demeanor somewhere when she was young and developed admiration.
What a pity, no chance to meet this fan offline this time.
“Saintess! The ritual has been adjusted!”
Selunia, having arranged the sacred runes, excitedly shouted to the voice in the waterfall.
In Lilith’s view, this little girl practically had “praise me” written on her face… if she had a tail, it would be wagging furiously.
She had long heard that those in the Inquisition were loyal to the Saintess.
It seemed that was indeed the case.
“Hmm, that was fast, Selunia. Your runology has improved during my absence.”
“Yes, Saintess, I’ve been studying very diligently.”
“Good. Now, please wait outside; Miss Vampire and I can discuss this alone.”
“Oh…” Selunia, initially pleased by the praise, quickly became disheartened when the Saintess asked her to leave.
Was there anything that couldn’t be said in front of her?
Before, the Saintess… always liked to keep her by her side, no matter what she was doing.
However, Selunia wouldn’t defy the Saintess’s will; she just glared fiercely at Lilith before leaving the holy hall.
She seemed to be warning her not to do anything disrespectful.
Lilith, on the other hand, chuckled, making a suggestive gesture with her hands in front of her chest.
Selunia immediately blushed and ran out, seemingly recalling how her small chest had just been “abused” by this vampire.
The Saintess watched the interaction between the two with a cold gaze.
Bang.
The heavy wooden door closed with a thud.
Lilith turned her head to look at the human avatar forming in the spring amidst the glow of the runes.
“Well then, Your Holiness, let’s exchange information quickly. The sooner you make a judgment on this matter and let the Church investigate… the sooner I can get away to travel.”
Although the girls in the monastery were nice, Lilith had promised Cecilim that she would accompany her on a trip.
If she broke her promise, that nurse sister would probably cry.
It was better not to be drawn into this vortex again.
“Are you in such a hurry to leave? Going with which woman this time?”
The Saintess’s normally gentle, spring-breeze-like tone turned unusually cold, as if all those polite and gentle pleasantries from before were just an act.
Lilith: “?”
“Can you even leave?!”
“Lilith! Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you?”
“Ten years! Ten whole years!”
“Heh, I can’t believe you don’t recognize me at all.”
“You faithless and heartless vampire!”
“Do you still remember… what happened at Lake Kurman ten years ago?!”
