Chapter 17: Always Be Enthusiastic About Eating

“No, I’m going to break down…”

“You’re already done after just this little distance? Lin Yi, you need to reflect properly, okay?”

“I’ll reflect later, just stop… I, I can’t catch my breath.”

So Yan Jianxing jogged in place, turning her head to look at Lin Yi, who was panting with her tongue out.

She and Yan Jianxing had resumed their morning runs on Monday. Although her Speed Attribute had recovered to the minimum D grade, it was still quite lacking compared to a normal person’s.

Not to mention compared to an athletic girl like Yan Jianxing. If she had a system too, her Speed would probably be at a B+ level.

What well-proportioned calves, so white they were dazzling. For Lin Yi, the only two benefits of running with Yan Jianxing were being able to improve her own Speed Attribute, and being able to openly stare at Yan Jianxing’s legs from behind.

Purely from the perspective of physical exercise, she really liked exercising with a beautiful girl. It’s just that this training intensity seemed a bit excessive.

“Lin Yi, how about you try going to the Badminton Team again this evening?” Yan Jianxing stood beside Lin Yi. “If it’s because your heart was hurt from our match last time, then I can apologize, okay? You can’t just lose confidence in badminton like that.”

Lin Yi waved her hand, explaining, “It’s not because of you, it’s just…”

“Just?”

Lin Yi couldn’t say it now, because all her remaining time had already been booked by Jian Shuye.

Given the young lady’s personality, she would absolutely never allow Lin Yi to join something like the Badminton Team. She already looked down on the school’s clubs to begin with.

But this matter couldn’t be explained to Yan Jianxing either.

Should she tell Yan Jianxing now that she had already become Jian Shuye’s property, with no personal freedom at all?

It felt like there would be no benefit other than being seen as a weird person.

“Just… I want to look around a bit more.” Lin Yi showed a smile. “There are so many clubs, I want to try them out one by one.”

Yan Jianxing didn’t find anything amiss. “Alright, but you need to pay attention to the time too. Didn’t the old class teacher say something before? You need to submit your club application form this week, right?”

“Yeah… it’s fine, I’ll talk to the old class teacher myself.”

The two returned to class together and started their lessons.

To be honest, Lin Yi was gradually getting used to her identity and her new life.

Attending class, making friends, improving her attributes, taking care of herself.

She didn’t really understand why she hadn’t died, but had instead come to this world.

But since she was already here, she might as well relax and enjoy it. That was her current way of thinking.

While pondering about life, time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was lunchtime.

Lin Yi was now accustomed to turning her gaze towards Yan Jianxing the moment class ended. The other party also seemed to be in sync, always successfully meeting Lin Yi’s eyes.

Wow, we really love to eat, huh.

Without needing any extra gestures, the two could immediately stand up from their seats and head to the cafeteria together to fill their stomachs.

But today, a third party arrived a bit too quickly.

Su Kui, holding a leather paper bag, arrived at Lin Yi’s desk even earlier than Yan Jianxing.

The navy blue blazer-style school uniform she wore wasn’t tight, nor was it loose. It just fit snugly, wrapping around the girl’s uniquely perfect figure.

The girl smiled, but it wasn’t cloying. It was clean, like a soda just taken out of a convenience store fridge.

Just as she was about to speak, Lin Yi quickly slapped the desk and said, “Ah! Wait, just give that thing to me!”

Su Kui was stunned for a moment, handing over the paper bag as she said, “Okay…”

Are you kidding? Admit to being a Kamen Rider in front of the entire class?!

As a Kamen Rider, one should hide their identity to the very end. She loved this feeling of wearing brocade clothes at night.

“What are you doing?” Yan Jianxing was clearly hungry. “If we don’t go soon, today’s sweet and sour pork will be snatched up!”

“Departing immediately!”

Lin Yi would never let the precious sweet and sour pork fall into the hands of other foodies. She would protect her lunch.

“Um!”

“Hmm?”

Su Kui clasped her fingers together, then said with a smile, “Are you eating in the cafeteria, or bringing it back to the classroom?”

Lin Yi and Yan Jianxing looked at each other. Lin Yi said, “Either is fine. Depends on how crowded the cafeteria is. If it’s crowded, we’ll bring it back.”

Anyway, they had disposable meal boxes, and there was a dedicated food waste bin at the corridor corner, so it wasn’t too troublesome.

Plus, many day students brought lunch boxes from home, eating and studying in class at the same time. They were so competitive!

Su Kui clasped her hands together, suggesting, “Then, let’s bring it back to the classroom today. We can push our desks together and eat.”

“I don’t mind…”

Lin Yi looked at Yan Jianxing.

Yan Jianxing shrugged. “I have no objections.”

So after the three agreed, Lin Yi followed Yan Jianxing out. Before leaving, she specifically glanced back at the second row of the classroom.

Sure enough, Moon God-sama was looking back at her.

After their gazes met, Feng Chuyue immediately lowered her head to count ants, like a student caught playing with her phone by the class teacher.

This girl had been staring at her a lot lately.

Something’s up.

…

…

After pushing their desks together, Yan Jianxing put down her meal box and also brought back a bag of drinks.

Lin Yi took out a can of red soda from inside and looked at Su Kui. “I didn’t know what you liked to drink, so I just randomly brought you some chrysanthemum tea.”

“You guessed right.” Su Kui picked up the bottle of chrysanthemum tea. “Lin Yi, you’re quite considerate.”

“Hehe, just average.”

Yan Jianxing sat beside Lin Yi, while Su Kui sat opposite Yan Jianxing. The three of them each opened their meal boxes and started eating lunch.

“By the way, Lin Yi, you and the Physical Education Committee Member are roommates?”

“Yeah.”

Lin Yi picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork and put it in her mouth. The sweet and sour feeling filled her taste buds, and it felt like the mental energy consumed all morning had returned.

“Just the two of you? Living in one room?”

“Yes.” Yan Jianxing answered for Lin Yi. “Lin Yi and I are probably the luckiest pair in the whole school. We just happened to draw the only double room.”

The luckiest pair?

Hey, hey, Yan Jianxing, being too carefree isn’t good, you know? People might misunderstand.

“Why?” Su Kui was puzzled.

Lin Yi blinked. “Good luck?”

“I mean, why is there a double room in the first place?” Su Kui picked up a rice ball with her chopsticks and then put it down. “It seems a bit wasteful of space.”

Yan Jianxing bit off a piece of sausage, explaining, “Because our dorm is at the very end of the hallway, and next to it is the tool storage room, so the area was modified to be smaller.”

Lin Yi gave Yan Jianxing a thumbs-up. “You’re the observant one.”

“Of course, who do you think I am? My IQ is one hundred and sixty!”

Thud.

All three simultaneously looked towards the source of the sound. At the front row where Moon God sat, two or three books had fallen on the floor.

“Moon God!”

“Let us help you pick them up, Moon God!”

The surrounding classmates spontaneously picked up the books and carefully placed them on Feng Chuyue’s desk.

Feng Chuyue, at this moment, wasn’t eating anymore. She buried her face in the crook of her arm, afraid that anyone would see her adorable, blushing face.

“Chuyue is really shy.” Su Kui looked concerned. “She wasn’t like this before.”

“Before?”

Clearly, both Yan Jianxing and Lin Yi were interested. Who wouldn’t want to hear about the past of the class’s big celebrity, Feng Chuyue-sama?

Su Kui moistened her lips, slightly parted, but then shook her head. “That was back in middle school. It’s not easy to talk about. Anyway, it’s good if everyone takes care of her a bit more.”

Yan Jianxing nudged Lin Yi with her elbow. “Sounds like something Moon God’s mother would say.”

Lin Yi nodded. “Makes sense.”

Su Kui quickly waved her hands. “No, it’s not that. I just… how should I put it? Everyone thinks of Chuyue as a bit too mysterious. And I’m only sixteen, how could I be her mother?”

What a joke, who says a sixteen-year-old girl can’t be a mother?

Respect personal will!

Forget it. She had slacked off a bit during the morning run, so she still had some stamina left.

Special Skill for Moon Goddess, activate!

Lin Yi closed and opened her eyes, and saw a crying little soybean emoji appear above Feng Chuyue’s head.

And a disappointed little soybean emoji.

“Huh?”

What is she disappointed about?

Yan Jianxing saw Lin Yi stand up and walk towards Feng Chuyue.

Then, Lin Yi asked Feng Chuyue, “Moon God, do you want to eat with us?”
