After coming down from the rooftop of the Demon King Castle, they returned to Xing Yue's room.
Phyllis announced that they would be going to the dungeon soon and told Xing Yue to go prepare the food she wanted to bring to Wei Anna, while she would wait in the room for her return.
Just earlier, she had said there was no time to visit a prisoner, and now without warning, she said they were going to the dungeon.
Xing Yue didn't know if Phyllis had suddenly changed her mind and decided to alter the schedule, or if she had planned it all along and had simply been teasing her daughter that morning.
Both possibilities were likely, but Xing Yue had a feeling it was the latter.
From the Holy Maiden's ordeal, she could already tell that her cheap mother had a bit of a troll personality.
And today, the way Phyllis interacted with the former Demon King Funuola confirmed this even more.
Phyllis really loved messing with people.
Although her personality was terrible, she did have one good quality: she was fairly trustworthy and at least kept the promises she made.
She hadn't kicked Xing Yue out of the castle to train, and she had spared the Holy Maiden's life.
Besides, once Phyllis had had her fun, she would just disappear, not caring where she went or what she was doing, only reappearing by Xing Yue's bed the next day.
Honestly, this behavior didn't resemble a qualified mother at all...
But this hands-off approach suited Xing Yue just fine.
Xing Yue left the room and went to find Yang Dazhuang to ask about the cake. She received a positive reply.
"The kitchen is ready, Princess. As you requested, we made a six-inch cream fruit cake, sweet, without meat paste or any extra ingredients."
"Mm, has Yang Erzhuang gone to pick it up now?"
"Yes, Princess."
"Thank you, I appreciate your help."
"No trouble at all. It's our honor to serve the Princess!"
Since Yang Erzhuang was already running the errand, Xing Yue decided not to move and simply waited in the hallway for him.
Demon delivery was fast; Yang Erzhuang soon returned carrying a wrapped cake.
Just to be safe, Xing Yue opened the packaging to take a look at the cake. Fortunately, it wasn't some dark cuisine; the appearance was good and looked appetizing.
From Yang Dazhuang, Xing Yue had already learned that the Demon King Castle had nothing suitable for humans to eat. The meals for monsters were a strange mix—either bizarre-looking dark dishes or nauseating feasts of blood and flesh.
But now, Xing Yue had only asked for a cake with a few simple notes, and the kitchen had delivered food that satisfied her without any mistakes.
'The chefs in the castle's kitchen really know their stuff...'
After thanking the two goat-headed demons again, Xing Yue returned to the room to tell Phyllis that she was done.
But as soon as she entered, she saw the pink-haired girl standing on the bed, while Phyllis, like a pervert, lifted the girl's skirt and peered underneath.
'Tsk...
'Don't look at what should not be seen, don't listen to what should not be heard...'
Startled, Xing Yue froze and tried to quietly retreat back to the hallway without making a sound.
But Phyllis seemed to have eyes in the back of her head and suddenly spoke up. "Yue Yue, back already?"
Xing Yue had no choice but to stop awkwardly. "Uh... yeah, I'm back."
"Perfect, come help me out. Hold up her skirt."
"?!"
"Don't just stand there. Come help me."
"Oh, oh..."
Xing Yue found a place to put down the cake, her expression stiff as she moved to stand beside them.
Only then did Phyllis turn her head, smiling brightly at Xing Yue.
"Are you curious about what I'm going to do~"
"Not at all..."
"Come on, Yue Yue, take a look and you'll know~"
"No, no! Mom, I really don't want to know!"
"Oh, come on~ We're all girls, what's there to be embarrassed about~ Come look~"
"Uwah--?!"
Xing Yue's refusal was completely ignored. Phyllis forcefully pulled her over, and before Xing Yue could cover her eyes, Phyllis noticed and seized her wrist in advance.
Thus, Xing Yue was forced into becoming a pervert who peeks under a girl's skirt along with her mother.
But before she could appreciate the view, Xing Yue quickly noticed something strange.
On the pink-haired girl's pale lower abdomen was a dark, bat-shaped mark. In the center, a heart pattern embedded with a clear name: Funuola·Dracula.
"Th-this is..."
A legendary... brand of submission?
Xing Yue didn't dare say the second half out loud, because it was too outrageous.
It wasn't her fault for jumping to that conclusion straight away; a pattern printed in such a terrible position was far too easy to misunderstand!
Phyllis caught Xing Yue's shocked expression and looked extremely satisfied. Her tone was teasing. "Ara ara~ It looks like some kind of domination mark from a master-servant contract~"
"No wonder a perfectly normal person ended up like this. Ah~ this child is really pitiful~"
"Y-yeah..." Xing Yue didn't know what Phyllis was thinking and could only agree.
Phyllis continued, "Her magic power and life force are almost drained. If she continues to be enslaved, she'll probably die in agony before long~"
"That old thing Funuola likes to make full use of everything. Anything that falls into her hands is only discarded after she's completely squeezed out its value. I imagine this child won't even be allowed to rest in peace after death~"
"Ai~ The more I think about it, the more pitiable she seems. Don't you think so, Yue Yue~"
Phyllis turned to look at Xing Yue with a smile. Her gaze and words seemed to imply something.
Xing Yue frowned slightly and nodded. "Indeed, she's pitiful... so, Mom, what do you want to do?"
"Of course, I'll erase the name on the mark and replace it with yours, Yue Yue~ After that, you'll take care of her~"
"Huh? Huh? Huh???"
Xing Yue pointed at herself in disbelief, her expression shocked. "M-me?"
"Mm~" Phyllis nodded, then leaned in close to Xing Yue, her tone carrying a hint of dangerous temptation. "Yue Yue, you don't want such a cute little thing to die, do you~"
"B-but... why? Why my name, Mom?"
Phyllis proudly replied, "Hmph~ Of course it's because I think my Yue Yue knows how to take care of people better than that old thing Funuola~"
"She still has a lot of use, so she can't be allowed to waste away~"
"So~ I'm giving this task to you now, Yue Yue~"
With that, without giving Xing Yue a chance to refuse, Phyllis urged her. "Come on~ Hold up her skirt. Make sure you lift it high~ I'm going to use my full power to cast the spell~"
"Th-then hurry up, Mom..."
Xing Yue had no choice but to obey. She turned away her blushing face and reluctantly grabbed the hem of the skirt, lifting it upward.
"Hee hee~ Of course~"
In a place Xing Yue couldn't see, Phyllis rubbed her hands together and flashed a smirk of a successful plot.
