[Entering the character creation interface, initializing basic character setup…]
Bai Yue Ling swiftly entered the game.
She found herself in a Western-style classical room, resembling a dressing room, complete with a two-meter-tall full-length mirror for players to inspect their in-game appearance.
Currently, Bai Yue Ling retained her real-world appearance—clad only in underwear and white stockings.
Covering her ample chest, Bai Yue Ling gazed at her reflection:
“Ugh… I should’ve put on some clothes before logging in. Oh well, it doesn’t matter. They’ll give me starter gear after character creation anyway.”
[Scanning your personal information… Scan complete. Character attributes for World of Fate have been generated.]
A line of text materialized beside Bai Yue Ling in the mirror.
[Attributes: Health 10 / Mana 10 / Stamina 8 / Strength 8 / Agility 12 / Intelligence 9 / Spirit 99 / Charisma 20]
Every player entering World of Fate undergoes an attribute scan.
Notably, these attributes are derived from the player’s real-world self.
For instance, if an average woman’s starting Strength is 10, a gym-obsessed fitness enthusiast might have 15, and a weightlifter could reach 20.
Initially, this system sparked widespread player backlash, with many accusing Fate Corporation of botching the game and ruining initial balance.
Fate Corporation’s response?
This setup enhances immersion, making players feel as if they’ve truly crossed into another world.
Players, unsurprisingly, weren’t convinced.
But Fate Corporation doubled down:
“Complain all you want—we’re not changing it. Don’t like it? Don’t play.”
Over time, players came to accept it.
A few attribute points didn’t break the game’s balance, and besides leveling, attributes could be boosted through other means.
It wasn’t uncommon for same-level players to have varying total attribute points.
Back to Bai Yue Ling, she stared at her sky-high Spirit of 99, unsurprised:
“As expected, Spirit has increased another 10-point.”
In previous loops, she’d noticed that each rebirth added 10 Spirit points.
In her first loop, it was 10; by the second, 20; and by the tenth, it hit the cap of 99.
Even in the game’s late stages, only a handful of players ever reached 99 Spirit.
Yet here she was, achieving it at Level 1.
Perhaps, amidst countless deaths, this was the one silver lining.
As for her Charisma of 20…
Gazing at the curvaceous, silver-haired beauty in the mirror, Bai Yue Ling nodded approvingly.
Without any buffs, her Charisma was already 20, proof the system recognized her as an adorable, stunning girl.
How else could she have charmed her way into countless romantic entanglements with mere sweet talk?
Or been whisked away by a lustful older sister passing by?
Beauty comes with its perks.
[Would you like to proceed with race selection?]
The system’s gentle prompt sounded in her ear, and Bai Yue Ling replied without hesitation:
“Yes!”
Here it was—the moment of truth.
Character race!
Race was the most critical starting attribute in World of Fate, yet its complete randomness drew heavy player criticism.
Tattered → Common → Fine → Superior → Perfect → Epic → Legendary → Mythic: these were the quality tiers in World of Fate.
The higher the tier, the rarer and more powerful the race.
Most players drew “Human,” a Common-tier race.
A few luckier ones landed Fine-tier “Beastman,” while only a tiny fraction scored Superior-tier “Elf.”
Compared to Humans, Beastmen gained physical stat boosts plus adorable, alluring animal ears and tails, making them a fan favorite.
Elves, sculpted by the goddess herself, were the epitome of perfection—fair-skinned, beautiful, curvaceous, and born into the resource-rich, scenic Elven Kingdom, sparing them many early struggles.
Rumors spoke of Perfect-tier Witches, Epic-tier High Elves, Legendary-tier Angels, and more… but those who drew such races were exceedingly rare.
Bai Yue Ling had only encountered a dozen or so in all her loops.
That said, powerful races weren’t invincible.
Each race had unique strengths and flaws, with Humans being the most balanced overall.
In the game’s mid-stages, Bai Yue Ling recalled, the combat leaderboards were still dominated by Humans.
Still, she yearned for a strong race.
In her seventh loop, she’d lucked out and got into the Elf race, and that was her longest survival yet.
“Please, please… let me draw Elf again,”
Bai Yue Ling clasped her hands, whispering,
“I’ll do anything to survive…”
“Hahaha! Anything, you say?”
Suddenly, a near-maniacal female voice echoed, laced with a magical force that pierced Bai Yue Ling’s soul.
Startled, Bai Yue Ling scanned the room:
“Who’s there?!”
This was the character creation space—only she and the system should be present.
That voice was no illusion…
In her nine prior loops, nothing like this had ever happened!
[Drawing your race… Bzzzt, bzzzt—]
The system glitched, emitting a harsh static buzz.
In the mirror, Bai Yue Ling saw tendrils of black mist spreading from behind her.
“Hahahaha… Your despair, your resentment, your pain—I feel it all!”
The thick mist combined into a humanoid shape, and the crazed female voice rang out again.
“Fear not—I’m here to help you exact revenge!”
A black-haired, mature woman stepped slowly from the mist.
Her voluptuous figure was clad in bloodstained, battle-worn armor, as if fresh from a brutal fight.
A pair of jet-black wings unfurled behind her, and a blood-tainted halo hovered above her head.
Her ruby-red eyes blazed with madness and hatred, as if ready to set the world ablaze.
The black-haired woman loomed over Bai Yue Ling, laughing maniacally as she extended her right hand.
“I sense your spirit, forged through endless suffering, far beyond mortal limits! Come, embrace my Dark Fall, and drag them all into the abyss!”
“Dark… Dark Fall?”
Staring at the gothic, ominous woman, Bai Yue Ling pressed her trembling thighs together, her body quaking as if plunged into an icy abyss.
From this mist, she felt a hatred akin to her own… but magnified a hundredfold!
It was as if it rose from the deepest depths, darker than darkness itself, pure negativity incarnate.
What had this woman endured?
Noticing the seemingly petrified silver-haired beauty below, the black-haired woman leaned closer, her fingers gently lifting Bai Yue Ling’s chin.
“Is this all you’ve got? With such frail spirit, Dark Fall will devour you.”
Snapping back, Bai Yue Ling realized something.
Spirit?
Could it be… a hidden event triggered by my maxed-out 99 Spirit?
That would explain it.
“I’ll accept Dark Fall!”
Bai Yue Ling met the woman’s crimson gaze, unflinching.
“Oh?”
The black-haired woman raised an eyebrow:
“You don’t want to know what Dark Fall is?”
“No need!”
Bai Yue Ling declared.
“All I want is to survive!”
The endless failures and deaths across her loops had driven her to the edge of despair.
She’d seize any hope to keep going.
This was her lifeline—how could she refuse?
“Hahaha… good, very good! I like you already. We’ll get along just fine,”
The black-haired woman cackled.
“Now, let’s get inside you!”
Before Bai Yue Ling could react, the black-haired woman pinned her shoulders, her slender fingers tracing patterns on Bai Yue Ling’s soft abdomen, as if carving a sigil.
A horrifying agony surged through Bai Yue Ling!
It was as if her soul was being torn apart, countless blades stabbing her heart, her bones and flesh crushed.
Even her real-world death by a car accident paled in comparison.
This pain transcended human endurance!
“No… I’m not giving up here…”
“I can’t die again… I have to survive…”
Memories of her nine gruesome deaths flooded back, and Bai Yue Ling clenched her teeth, a spark of madness in her eyes.
She was pitting her superhuman spirit against the torment.
Seeing her defiance, the black-haired woman smirked:
“What a tenacious little thing… Let’s paint this world our color together.”
.”
Then, the black-haired woman dissolved into a mist, merging with the sigil on Bai Yue Ling’s abdomen.
Bai Yue Ling’s spirit hit its limit, and she blacked out.
[Congratulations, you’ve drawn the Mythic-tier race—Fallen Angel.]
The system’s gentle prompt sounded again, but the unconscious Bai Yue Ling couldn’t couldn’t hear.

A white light enveloped the scene, and Bai Yue Ling’s consciousness slowly returned.
She lifted her head, bewildered, still piecing together what had transpired.
Then, the black-haired woman’s crazed laughter echoed in her mind.
“Hahaha! Little sister, let’s fall into darkness!”
“Be it’s holy angels, devout nuns, or valiant knights—they’ll all succumb to our Dark Fall!”
“They’ll surrender body and soul, every inch tainted by us, their very essence becoming our loyal slaves and believers!”
“Together, we’ll plunge the world into the abyss!”
