Chapter 20: Yue Li

“You’re back? I missed you so much, I…”

Xing Lian spoke her longing with excitement, but halfway through her sentence, she suddenly froze in place.

She had been too happy a moment ago to distinguish things clearly, thinking that no one else but Fei could enter the Mountain Cave.

However, as she held the person tightly and their bodies pressed together, she suddenly realized something was wrong.

They fought so frequently that they quickly grew bored of it.

Their battles shifted from once every 2 or 3 days to once every half a month, and eventually once a month…

Though they didn’t say it aloud, they both understood the situation perfectly.

Their strength was neck and neck, making it impossible to completely drive the other away. 

Although they could certainly decide a victor if they went all out, it wasn’t worth fighting a life-and-death struggle over a single piece of territory.

Yue Li and Fei gradually reached a tacit understanding, each occupying half of the Forest.

3 months ago, during an agreed-upon duel, Yue Li stumbled because of a slip of her foot.

The two were old rivals who knew each other very well, and they both knew where the other lived.

Yue Li stepped lightly into the Stone Chamber and saw a snow-white little ball.

Dressed in white plush brocade clothes, the girl had curved eyes, a delicate nose, and soft, pink lips. 

Her entire being looked as if she were carved from fine jade.

Yue Li’s body instantly froze in place. 

‘Was this Fei’s girlfriend? Was this the partner she had found?’

‘No, she is mine!’

Yue Li narrowed her eyes and took a deep breath.

The little ball noticed her then. 

A brilliant smile appeared on the girl’s face, and she crashed into Yue Li’s arms like a baby swallow returning to its nest.

The moment they embraced, a pleasant milky fragrance wafted into her nose.

Her body was as soft as a cloud, making it hard for Yue Li to let go once she held her.

Yue Li’s expression became dazed.

Xing Lian realized something was wrong then. 

It seemed she had hugged the wrong person, and she turned to run away.

Yue Li noticed just in time. 

She reached out and grabbed her, pulling her into her embrace and burying her head deep into the crook of the girl’s neck.

“Little cutie, who are you? What is your name? I am Sister Yue Li. Sister has plenty of delicious food at home. How about you come with me?”

Scenting the faint fragrance coming from the little one’s body, Yue Li’s face was full of obsession.

She hadn’t expected that a simple revenge mission would lead her to meet the person of her dreams. 

Fei just happened to be away as well, which was simply a heaven-sent opportunity!

Xing Lian felt afraid; she was practically scared to death.

Who was this person holding her? 

How did she get in?

The other person’s burning gaze made her feel like she was sitting on a bed of needles.

When she heard what the woman said, Xing Lian couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth.

‘Delicious food? Come with her?’

Did she think Xing Lian was a 3-year-old child?

“My name is Xing Lian. I think it’s very nice here, and I don’t want to leave.”

Xing Lian struggled as she spoke, but she couldn’t break free at all.

Yue Li smiled upon hearing those words.

“Xing Lian? That’s a very beautiful name. Can I call you Lian?”

‘No, you can’t!’ Xing Lian thought to herself.

But before she could speak, the other person spoke again, “Lian, it’s fine if you don’t want to walk…”

Hearing this, Xing Lian felt a surge of joy, thinking the woman was worried about Fei and didn’t dare do anything to her.

However, when the woman said the next sentence, Xing Lian was completely stunned.

“…You’re a little one with short legs and can’t walk fast anyway, so it’s the same if I carry you.”

‘Small with short legs? Carry me?’

Xing Lian looked up sharply, opening her mouth to say something. 

But before the words could leave her mouth, she felt a pain in her neck. 

Her vision went black, and then she knew nothing more.
