It’s eerie.
Moya watched the performances around her, feeling uneasy all over.
These performers completely ignored her arrival, continuing their acts as if no one else was there.
Their absorbed expressions even made Moya think of the “Arrogant Performers” from her past life.
Luckily, these people weren’t actually the “Arrogant Performers,” or she would have fainted from fright.
Condensing holy light into a thin thread, Moya carefully used divine power to probe the performers’ bodies.
These performers are all alive.
Moya could sense that every performer here was branded with the aura of dark magic.
It was slightly different from the dark magic aura of the beggar girl and the fake lord, but it came from the same source.
In short, it didn’t seem to be the work of the same person, but it was most likely related to that cloaked figure who swapped bodies.
Either way, it all felt very uncomfortable.
Watching the acrobat on stage excitedly interacting with the air, as if with an enthusiastic fan, even starting to perform an interactive acrobatic act all by himself on the empty stage.
The more Moya watched, the more uncomfortable she felt.
The feathered ears on her head trembled with increasing frequency, and she turned and left the performance stage.
In this circus park, performers like this were everywhere.
Moya kept weaving through the crowd of performers, while keeping an eye out for any noteworthy people or buildings.
Before she knew it, the number of performers around her was dwindling, and fog began to spread through the circus.
Moya ignored the thickening fog and walked straight ahead.
The fog grew thicker and thicker, and the performers around her disappeared one by one behind Moya.
When there was no one left around Moya and the fog had become so thick that she couldn’t see, her next heavy step forward suddenly cleared the view.
The thick fog vanished, and a black tent stood quietly before Moya.
This must be the black tent the beggar girl had mentioned.
Moya remained on alert, ready to use divine magic at any moment.
She lifted the tent flap and slowly stepped inside.
What came into view was a square table, with a crystal ball reflecting Moya’s delicate face and the cloaked figure behind her.
“You seem completely unsurprised by my appearance.”
Moya’s golden eyes, turned so by the heavy use of divine magic, coldly stared at the cloaked figure.
“I’m not surprised that the circus’s whereabouts have been exposed.”
A hoarse voice responded to Moya’s coldness.
The cloaked figure showed no fear at Moya’s arrival.
“But I really didn’t expect the circus’s whereabouts to be exposed so quickly, and by such violent means, nor did I expect that the opponent would actually be an angel.”
“The Holy Light Church, which always acts cautiously, has moved so swiftly this time. It’s beyond my expectations.”
The cloaked figure seemed to misunderstand something because of Moya’s identity.
Moya was merely taking action to repay a debt and out of a sense of justice (limited dreamwalking edition), and had nothing to do with the Holy Light Church.
But Moya didn’t intend to correct this misunderstanding.
“Just turn yourself in and let the victims quickly return to their original bodies. Then I can put in a good word for you during sentencing.”
“Since you’re familiar with the Church’s style, you should also understand that the Tribunal has little fondness for dark mages like you.”
Leaning on the mountain of the Church that the cloaked figure mistakenly believed in, Moya’s words became quite rude.
“Of course. If it were the Tribunal’s forces themselves, I would immediately raise my hands in surrender, to avoid having my soul extracted and burned in holy fire for a hundred years after death.”
Hearing Moya’s threat, the cloaked figure’s hoarse voice took on a hint of amusement:
“But what came was only a guardian angel, not the Tribunal’s forces, not even a punitive angel.”
“I’ve heard that guardian angels can’t actively attack humans, can they?”
Moya’s eyes were as calm as still water, unshaken by the cloaked figure’s exposure.
“So what?”
“Nothing. I’m just curious, under the premise that I don’t actively attack you, what can you do?”
The cloaked figure’s gaze roamed up and down Moya’s body, appraising her.
“So you admit to these accusations I’ve made?”
Moya was noncommittal and didn’t immediately respond to the cloaked figure’s naive thoughts.
“Of course. I never intended to deny it from the start.”
The crystal ball on the square table began to glow, echoing the cloaked figure’s smug tone.
“I made them live the lives they wanted. Isn’t that something to be proud of?”
“Is that so? Do you think they’re happy now?”
Twirling her golden hair, Moya replied casually, like a judge wearily listening to a criminal’s confession.
“At least before they agreed, they were absolutely unhappy.”
The cloaked figure replied with a laugh.
“This circus only calls those who are despairing in life. I gave them a chance to choose, a chance to swap lives. Whether they are happy after the swap is none of my concern.”
“According to the beggar girl and the fake lord, it seems you didn’t explain things clearly to them beforehand. You simply asked a deliberately obscure question and swapped their bodies arbitrarily. They didn’t even have the right to know.”
“When opportunity comes your way, does every opportunity explain in meticulous detail what will happen if you accept and what will happen if you refuse?”
“You’re really condescending. What do you take yourself for?”
“Hmph, I don’t need you to remind me of that. I’m well aware that I’m enjoying the thrill of manipulating others’ fates.”
A self-aware madman.
Moya silently assessed in her mind, but made no move.
On the other side, the cloaked figure finally began to sense that something was wrong.
Even if the guardian angel before him couldn’t actively attack him, her movements were too quiet.
She hadn’t done anything.
Did she come here just to listen to him give a speech?
Stalling.
At this moment, the cloaked figure finally realized something was wrong.
Moya couldn’t do anything to him in the spiritual world, but his physical body was still in the real world.
When one walks through the spiritual world as a consciousness entity, the physical body is completely defenseless.
He had to go back immediately.
“You didn’t really think that as long as you don’t actively attack me, I have no way to deal with you, did you?”
Seeing that the cloaked figure had finally realized something was wrong, Moya spoke coldly.
Just as the cloaked figure’s consciousness was about to leave the spiritual world, Moya casually swung out a huge pillar of holy light, directly piercing through the cloaked figure’s spiritual body!
Given the guardian angel’s precepts, Moya’s attack would cause no damage.
However, no damage didn’t mean no effect.
The massive holy light power roared around the cloaked figure, pressing down so hard that he could barely breathe.
It was like a mountain pressing down on him, though it caused no damage, it was so heavy that he couldn’t lift himself.
Under the suppression of the massive holy light, the cloaked figure felt that every attempt to return his consciousness to his body was extremely difficult, each step bearing the weight of a mountain.
In the end, the cloaked figure could no longer hold on.
The attempt to return completely failed, and his consciousness entity in the spiritual world instantly shattered!
