“Twelve years old, huh? The perfect loli age. Had it been two or three years earlier, you’d be a toddler. I’m drifting off-topic, but it really is great that you’re a loli,” Bai Ya sighed with a hint of fondness.
She lightly shook her arm, making the dagger’s blade tap rhythmically against Shadow Spider’s neck. This was a warning to the twelve-year-old loli not to make any rash moves, but it was also Bai Ya’s own twisted amusement. She just wanted to scare Shadow Spider, and if it ended in tears, all the better.
Shadow Spider only widened her eyes, glaring at her with the hatred of a rabid, red-eyed hellhound.
Bai Ya sighed inwardly. This ghostly little loli had killed so many people; she was no stranger to blood. It was unlikely that a threat to her life would really scare her.
“What’s your name?” Bai Ya asked her second question.
“Slave girl [Shadow Spider], serial number 053. Since becoming the property of Second Prince Arthur Amidale, I’ve had no name, you bastard woman,” Shadow Spider answered honestly, wary of Bai Ya’s potential violence. At this moment, her urge to kill Bai Ya was maddeningly strong.
What kind of stupid questions was this vile woman asking? Was she out of her mind? She wasn’t some escaped slave who had the luxury to chat about her age or name—was she? Shadow Spider glared fiercely at Bai Ya, thinking she must be crazy.
Bai Ya raised her empty hand, fingers curling into a fist without hesitation, and struck Shadow Spider’s left cheek.
Bai Ya’s combat power was only 3, much weaker than an adult’s. Not long ago, she had been punched hard in the cheek and nearly felt her head burst open; the swelling still hadn’t subsided. The punch she just landed on Shadow Spider only caused a faint redness on the girl’s left cheek. The effect was minimal.
Bai Ya felt as if her fist was about to ache to death. She silently resolved to start exercising. With her frail frame, she wasn’t even close to reaching a combat power of 5, barely even a weakling. At the very least, she needed to reach normal human standards.
“I don’t care about slave girl [Shadow Spider]. I just want to know your real name. Tell me quickly, or I won’t be able to control this boiling pot of mine. No, more like a steamed bun… to be honest, no, no, now’s not the time to complain… Wait, why are you crying…?”
Bai Ya stared at her fist, looking troubled, when suddenly the loli’s body trembled. This was her reaction to being punched. Shadow Spider’s pale face and hollow black eyes welled up with tears.
“Mingyao Zhitu! My name is Mingyao Zhitu! I’ve told you everything! Please spare me! Spare me!” Shadow Spider sobbed, begging desperately as her limbs flailed wildly. Bai Ya struggled for a long time before managing to hold her down.
Maybe it was just a trick of the mind, but Bai Ya felt as if the girl’s gaze was piercing through her, staring at someone who wasn’t there. Someone from the darkest corners of her memory, someone who had terrified her. Who could say for sure?
“Mingyao Zhitu, that sounds way better than slave girl Shadow Spider. Next question: what’s your hobby?” Bai Ya smiled, pleased that Mingyao Zhitu was answering honestly, and continued.
The punch had triggered the childhood fear lurking in Shadow Spider’s heart. Only now was she brought back from those terrible memories by Bai Ya’s words.
She hesitated a moment, then her body shook—not from fear, but from anger. Gritting her teeth, she glared fiercely at Bai Ya. That despicable woman had forced her into such an ugly position—it was unforgivable!
“Hurry up and answer! My time is limited. I can’t waste too much of it on you,” Bai Ya said matter-of-factly, ignoring the girl’s hostility.
“You vile woman! I won’t answer a single question anymore!” Shadow Spider snorted, turning her head away. Was this a childish tantrum?
But she wasn’t some bloody, blood-soaked kid like her.
Bai Ya thought for a moment and slowly raised her fist again.
“Ada!”
“My h-hobby is killing women with bigger chests than me! They all deserve to die! Spare me! Spare me!”
Bai Ya had only meant to try once more, but the punch to Shadow Spider’s right cheek had the same effect. The girl immediately fell into deep terror and spilled the truth.
Honestly, this loli was so vicious. Didn’t she know that flat chests are justice?
“But, you know, when we first met, I observed that your chest was flatter than mine. I like that. At first, I didn’t want to kill you. It’s just because I remembered you were the one who forced me to leave my master’s side, that’s why I wanted to kill you.”
She really confessed everything—even her innermost thoughts. Being liked by such a terrifying loli made the loli-loving Bai Ya secretly delighted. She didn’t know that if the original Bai Ya had heard those words, she would’ve smiled, grabbed Shadow Spider by the neck, and snapped viciously, “Who did you say has the smaller chest, huh?!”
“Next question: what’s your favorite food?”
Once again, Bai Ya’s words pulled Shadow Spider back from her memories. The girl trembled with fury.
“Vile woman! You vile woman!”
A punch.
“Curry! It’s curry! Spare me! Spare me!”
“Next question,” Bai Ya said calmly, “what are you best at?”
“I won’t say! You’ll kill me!”
A punch.
“Waaah, I can sing, I can play the piano, but I’m best at the violin. Spare me! Spare me!”
“Next question: what kind of boys do you like?”
“Get away from me, vile woman! I’m going to kill you! I will kill you for sure!”
A punch.
“I—I’ll never surrender! Never!!”
Two punches.
“My favorite boys are handsome, gentle, sunny, and also very talented, very, very strong. Spare me! Spare me!”
*****
Shadow Spider’s cheeks were finally swollen and red. Even so, the moment she snapped out of her dark memories, she immediately glared at Bai Ya with fury. What a stubborn little loli—if she just gave in obediently, she wouldn’t have to suffer so much.
Bai Ya had come to understand a simple truth: there’s no problem that can’t be solved with a single punch. And if there is, then use two punches.
