Vivian heard a familiar voice, and her heart tightened.
She whipped her head around.
There stood that fat man, Sean, standing atop the ruins, grumbling in a low voice.
Vivian’s heart was instantly consumed by rage.
She let out a loud shout:
“You damn fatty! You actually dare to show your face in front of me again!”
Damn him, he actually dared to use a fireball to blast her husband!
Today, Vivian was going to kill this fat pig no matter what.
Vivian was absolutely furious!
Sean was startled by the sudden scolding from out of nowhere and hurriedly looked toward the source of the voice.
That one glance nearly scared the soul out of Sean’s body. His face turned pale in an instant, and beads of sweat the size of peas wouldn’t stop falling.
‘Damn it! Didn’t I tear the magic scroll and teleport away?’
‘How can I still run into this person!’
He was completely dazed. Then, it was as if he suddenly thought of something.
Sean looked up in disbelief, gazing at the somewhat familiar houses and streets in the distance.
He even saw the trench on the stone road not far away — the one plowed by his own face…
‘No way, can a random teleportation actually send me back to the same spot…’
‘That mage who sold me the scroll never mentioned this!’
‘This is going to be the death of me.’
Sean’s only remaining eyelid twitched, and the fat on his legs shook uncontrollably.
With his single red eye, he stared intently at the approaching Vivian.
*Gulp*
His Adam’s apple bobbed as he couldn’t help but swallow hard.
That petite black figure was like a giant beast awakening. Her aura washed over him, making it difficult to breathe.
“Now that things have come to this, do you have any last words?”
Vivian spoke slowly with an expressionless face, her voice low.
That terrifying beast had reached Sean before he knew it.
Sean’s legs felt as if they were cast from tofu, and he instantly collapsed onto the rubble.
“I…”
“Wait, you can’t kill me yet.”
Sean stammered, his lips trembling.
“I’m a cultist…”
“Yes! I’m a cultist! I should be thrown into the Church’s dungeon to await trial by the Tribunal!”
Sean’s emotions suddenly became agitated, and he shouted with all his might.
In his desperation, he remembered the Church’s procedures for judging cultists.
When the Glimmer Church faced unrepentant cultists whose crimes were unforgivable, they took a merciless approach of total elimination.
But when dealing with cultists whose crimes were less severe and who chose to surrender, they were usually taken into custody, and then judged after their crimes were read out.
Although the latter would still result in death, it was better than being killed on the spot. At the very least, he could linger for a few more days…
Therefore, under the pressure of Vivian’s almost tangible killing intent, and driven by his own desire to survive, he actually admitted to being a cultist.
“What a good boy. Wouldn’t it have been better if you said that earlier?”
The killing intent swirling around Vivian vanished in an instant.
A kind smile appeared on her face.
Then, she reached out her small hand and gently stroked Sean’s dusty hair.
Sean’s body was stiff, not daring to make any other movements.
“I’m a good boy, I’m a good boy!”
“I just lost my way by accident before, but I’ve completely realized my mistakes now.”
He quickly agreed, fearing Vivian might change her mind.
At the same time, Sean slowly relaxed his tensed nerves, thinking that Vivian should be letting him go this time.
The heavy stone weighing on his heart finally settled.
As for being thrown into jail, he accepted it.
When the time came, he would see if he could donate a sum of money.
Maybe he could even escape death…
Just as Sean was feeling smug, thinking Vivian would no longer make things difficult for him, a massive force came from the top of his head, accompanied by a burst of intense pain.
Sean gasped in pain, feeling as if his head were about to explode.
Confused, he looked up at Vivian.
“My… My Lady, what is the meaning of this?”
“I’m not actually from the Church…”
“So, I don’t plan on following the Church’s rules.”
Vivian grinned again, but this time, the smile was terrifying.
“Wait—”
Sean seemed to have something else to say, but Vivian clearly wasn’t in the mood to argue with him anymore.
The hand Vivian had placed on his head squeezed with a bit more force.
The ear-grating sound of bones shattering rang out.
Sean’s skull began to cave inward, and the pressure within his cranial cavity rose rapidly.
“Ugh!”
A low roar escaped Sean’s mouth.
His bloodshot eyes bulged outward as if they were about to fall out at any moment.
Pale pink cerebrospinal fluid flowed from his nose and ears.
“Bye-bye~”
Vivian’s tone was light, as if she were saying goodbye to a friend.
*Splat!*
The sound of a watermelon cracking against the ground echoed.
Sean’s head shattered accordingly.
White brain matter slowly trickled down Vivian’s fair fingers.
*Squelch*
Sean’s body, now with only half a head remaining, swayed twice before collapsing to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
**[XP +3]**
Vivian looked at her sticky fingers with a hint of disgust.
She gave them a couple of casual shakes, but some brain matter still remained on her hand.
“Tsk,” Vivian clicked her tongue in dissatisfaction.
But soon, she thought of a new method.
Vivian raised her hand and used blood magic on Sean’s fresh corpse.
Several thin columns of blood were summoned from the wound on his head.
The blood columns gathered in the air in front of Vivian, forming a blood ball the size of a fist.
Vivian then dipped her sticky hand into the blood ball, using it like water to wash her hands repeatedly.
She didn’t stop until all the filthy brain matter had been washed away.
“Alright, let’s go find Nolan and the others.”
Vivian muttered before casually tossing the blood ball aside.
A ball of purple light appeared in her palm. She closed her eyes and used Blood Perception to find Nolan and the others.
Several silhouettes with flowing blood soon appeared in her dark vision.
Vivian hurriedly ran toward the nearest silhouette.
She arrived at a collapsed corner of a wall.
She leaned over and began digging through the ruins with both hands like a dog. Rubble and sand were constantly thrown backward from her sides.
After a short while, Nolan’s handsome face gradually emerged from the pile of rubble.
His eyes were tightly closed, and he was in a deep, baby-like sleep.
Vivian immediately slowed her movements and held her breath.
As if facing a precious cultural relic that had just been unearthed, she carefully moved the stones around Nolan one by one.
A moment later, Vivian felt she had cleaned up enough. She grabbed Nolan’s hand and gave it a sudden yank.
With a clattering sound, Nolan was pulled out of the rubble by Vivian.
“Whew… I’m exhausted.”
Vivian raised her hand to wipe the nonexistent sweat from her forehead. She glanced at Nolan, who was sleeping like a log.
She walked over, knelt in front of him, and gently patted his face.
“Wake up, wake up, Nolan.”
Nolan didn’t react at all…
Vivian rubbed her chin and thought for a moment.
She decided to give him a rude awakening.
She raised her hand and reconsolidated the blood ball she had just thrown on the ground before it could coagulate.
Then, she grabbed the blood ball and slammed it into Nolan’s face.
*Splat!*
Nolan, his face covered in blood, frowned, but he still didn’t wake up.
“Sleeping that soundly?”
Vivian muttered, and then she reconsolidated the blood ball.
She slammed it down again.
*Splat!*
The sound of a water ball bursting rang out again.
This time, Nolan finally woke up slowly, gradually opening his eyes.
“That cultist Sean got away!”
He pressed his hand against his still-dizzy head and propped up his body, speaking through gritted teeth.
At the thought of it, Nolan’s anger flared up, and he clenched his fists.
“Don’t worry, he’s as dead as can be.”
Vivian pointed to the corpse with half a shattered head not far away.
