Skomet Mansion, Sunflower Garden.
The weather was clear and sunny, the light scattering down like white snowflakes, adding a unique atmosphere to the blooming flowers.
A gentle breeze brushed by, and the sea of flowers rippled with golden waves.
What a dreamlike, beautiful scene.
This was one of the rare peaceful afternoons in Anne’s turbulent life—love had borne fruit, she had a place to call home, her child was by her side, and time was gentle.
Ten years had passed since her rebirth.
Anne was no longer the shy young girl; she had become more charming and mature.
The accumulation of years had softened the stubbornness in her brows and added tenderness.
Now she had taken off the maid uniform she had worn for decades, and was wearing a fitted white sundress with straps, lying lazily on a rocking chair in the gazebo, eyes closed, enjoying the summer breeze.
Unlike the past, with maid labor day after day, year after year, she was now experiencing this rare summer afternoon life.
Anne looked back and realized she rarely had such leisure time.
In the past, she had always fulfilled her duties as a maid; even in the hardest times, she never chose to take off this uniform because it was her duty to protect the Boss.
But now, she had easily taken it off and put on other dresses.
It was simply because of Lauren—no one else could make her change so much.
Looking back, many things had really happened in these ten years between Anne and Lauren.
She and Li An, those superficial sisters, had tangled and fought over Lauren for ten years.
Along the way, there were painful partings, joyful reunions, and honest reconciliations…
‘It was all that evil Li An’s scheme against me, but true feelings don’t disappoint the sincere, meow.’
‘The Boss finally came to his senses, meow!’
‘I successfully defeated that evil Li An on this one-way road of love, and got the Boss’s sincere marriage proposal.’
She silently protected Lauren’s safety for ten years, helping him solve problems, and finally Lauren was moved by her.
Finally, on a sunny afternoon just like today, Anne would never forget that day—in the sunflower sea, Lauren knelt on one knee, held her hand, and said the words she had been waiting for two lifetimes.
“Anne, will you marry me?”
He said gently.
“I will love you for my whole life… mmm!”
He managed before being cut off.
Before Lauren could finish his words, Anne couldn’t wait and kissed him.
“I do, meow!”
She said happily.
She couldn’t remember her expression at that time, but Anne could imagine that her face must have been as red as the beloved Boss she was looking at.
‘I am so terribly embarrassed right now, meow!’ (>_<)<3
Anne got her wish and successfully married her beloved Boss.
And Anne was twenty-eight years old, finally having the small family she had always dreamed of.
She was no longer a maid to Lauren; she had become the mistress of Skomet Mansion.
Looking back at her life, she had lived up to her youth.
“Mommy, Mommy!”
A little girl’s voice rang out.
Anne opened her emerald green eyes and turned her head.
A little girl, about four or five years old, stumbled toward her with a happy smile on her face.
“Mommy, look! Does this look good on me?”
The girl asked.
She wore a custom-made small maid outfit, and what was especially striking was that she also had a pair of small cat ears on her head, a fluffy tail, long hair reaching her waist, and she looked like a miniature version of Anne.
However, unlike Anne, her hair was a golden color, and her eyes were the dark pupils of Lauren’s deep gaze.
This was the fruit of Anne and Lauren’s love, inheriting Anne’s features and Lauren’s coloring.
Anjie Skomet was her name.
Anne had chosen it herself, having dreamed of it for decades—even in her past life she had longed for such a lovely child, and now that dream had come true.
She was the little angel who guarded Anne’s happiness.
Looking at the lively and cheerful little cat-girl, Anne felt indescribable joy.
She reached out her arms, worried but happy, gently reminding her daughter as she welcomed her embrace.
“Be careful, don’t run too fast! If you fall, Mommy will be heartbroken, my little darling Anjie!”
The little cat-girl stumbled into her mother’s arms, then spun around to show off her maid outfit while she acted cute.
“Mommy, does this dress look nice? Daddy made it especially for me! If you don’t like it, Anjie won’t be happy either…”
She pouted adorably.
“How could that be?”
Anne said, lifting her daughter high up—it was Anjie’s favorite game, and her cute little face always split into a big smile.
“My little precious, Princess Anjie, sweet and soft little cake, you look good in anything! Mommy loves you!”
Anjie broke into a radiant smile, her laughter as clear as silver bells.
Anne hugged her daughter close, nuzzling contentedly into her hair as the soft cat ears quivered.
“Thank you, Mommy! Daddy said you used to wear clothes like this when you were little. Now that Anjie wears them, do I look as pretty as you?”
Anjie asked with innocent, sincere eyes.
Anne was deeply moved, her eyes reddening slightly.
She bent down and kissed her daughter’s forehead, speaking softly.
“You’re much prettier than Mommy. You’re the cutest little cat I’ve ever seen!”
Anne’s happiness today was everything she had ever dreamed of.
As they were talking, a familiar figure appeared on the garden path.
“Boss!”
Anne waved enthusiastically.
Lauren frowned, pretending to be displeased.
“Anne, you got that wrong, didn’t you? What should you call me? Think again!”
“Oh right!”
Anne covered her mouth in surprise.
“Dear husband!”
After all, she had used the title for over a decade, so it took her a moment to adjust.
Just then, little Anjie popped her head out from Anne’s arms and stretched her small arms toward Lauren.
“Daddy! You came just in time! Mommy says Anjie is the prettiest—do you agree?”
Her words made both adults laugh from the bottom of their hearts.
Lauren walked over to Anne, bent down to take their daughter, lifted her high above his head, and settled her on his shoulders.
His voice was gentle.
“I agree, completely agree, my little angel.”
Anjie suddenly reached out a small hand and grabbed Anne’s shoulder, pulling the three of them closer.
In her babyish voice, she said, “Then can we stay like this every day? Daddy, Mommy, and Anjie, all together.”
