Elia looked at her hands, which were now covered in blood.
Her black nails had been stained red.
The image of Kiz spitting up blood flashed in her mind again… Kiz’s pale face and her weak breath… the fury in her heart surged once more.
However, she forced herself to remain calm.
‘Now is not the time to lash out.’
Elia returned to Kiz’s bedside and quietly watched over her.
Two days passed quickly.
During those two days, Elia used Holy Light Magic to help Kiz for at least 8 hours every day.
After she was done, she stayed by Kiz’s bedside and refused to go anywhere else.
Today, Elia could no longer sit still because the doctor still hadn’t finished the antidote… so she went to the doctor’s laboratory.
The doctor was currently busy inside.
“How is the antidote coming along?” Elia asked as she burst inside.
Startled, the doctor turned around and stammered, “I-It still needs some time… The antidote for this poison requires seventy-two different herbs. I’ve only found sixty so far, so I’m still missing twelve…”
“Which twelve are missing? Tell me. I’ll go find them right now.”
“Well… some of these herbs are very rare… It might be…”
“Tell me. No matter how rare they are, I will find them.” A hint of killing intent rose in Elia’s blue eyes, and a strand of Holy Light flickered at her fingertips… the threat was unmistakably clear.
Seeing this, the doctor nodded quickly and produced a list. “First is Moonlight Dew. It is a specialty of the Elves, found deep within the Moonlight Forest… and Dragon Blood Crystal. That must be obtained from the territory of the Dragons, which is even more dangerous. Also…”
She listed them one by one, and Elia listened intently.
Once the doctor finished, Elia took the list, glanced at it, and nodded. “I’m going now.”
“But…” The doctor wanted to say that these materials were extremely difficult to find and might take days or even weeks.
However, she shut her mouth as soon as she saw Elia’s eyes.
“You must ensure Kiz stays alive until I return… Use every means possible to suppress the poison. Wait for me to bring back the antidote!”
“…Yes.”
Elia turned and left the laboratory.
She didn’t head out immediately. Instead, she returned to the Sleeping Palace first.
Lying on the bed, Kiz’s face was still as pale as a sheet of paper.
Elia sat by the bed and looked at her sleeping face.
Then, she reached out and gently touched Kiz’s cheek.
It was cold — so cold it made her heart race with anxiety.
‘Kiz… wait for me.’
Elia leaned down and gave Kiz a gentle kiss on the forehead.
Then, she stood up and left the room.
From that moment on, Elia traveled tirelessly across the Dream Spirit Continent.
First, she used Teleportation Magic to reach the Moonlight Forest of the Elves and found the Moonlight Dew deep within the woods.
Then, she used Flying Magic to go to the territory of the Dragons, where she stole a Dragon Blood Crystal from the nest of a sleeping dragon.
After the theft, she teleported away immediately.
She went to the mine at the heart of the Dwarf Clan’s territory and found a rare ore buried deep underground.
Next, she traveled to the Corrupted Swamp in the territory of the Demons and gathered the necessary pollen from a highly toxic magical flower.
Finally, she infiltrated a warehouse of the Heavenly Saint Race and stole a Holy Light Crystal from their private collection…
During these five tasks, she was clever enough to hide her presence completely, and she even changed her face and figure.
Having gone to such lengths, unless someone more powerful than her came looking, it was impossible to recognize her as the Saint who had been kidnapped by the Blood Clan.
Well… except for the time she visited the territory of the Elves. After all, she knew Princess Lola. After a bit of explaining, the young girl helped her through quite a few shortcuts.
In short, she traveled across the territories of five different races and found all the rare materials the doctor had mentioned… all in just 8 hours.
By the time she returned to the Vampire Castle with all the ingredients, it was already evening.
The doctor could hardly believe her eyes when she saw Elia return. “You… you actually found them…”
“Enough talk.” Elia tossed the herbs to her.
“Prepare the antidote immediately! If you can’t make it, I’ll kill you!”
“Y-Yes!”
The doctor hurriedly set to work.
Elia went back to Kiz’s room.
Kiz was still asleep… but her complexion was even worse than it had been this morning. Her lips were purple, her breathing was weaker, and her chest barely seemed to move.
Elia gently took her hand and whispered, “Kiz… just hold on a bit longer… It’ll be okay soon…”
She didn’t know if Kiz could hear her.
But she hoped she could.
It took 2 hours for the doctor to prepare the antidote.
When the doctor walked into the room with the medicine, Elia had been sitting in the same position for 2 full hours.
“The antidote is ready,” the doctor said cautiously. “But… this time, we still need someone to guide the Holy Light Mana.”
“I’ll do it.” Elia took the antidote. “Tell me what to do.”
“Same as before, but this time you need even stronger magic… because the potency of the antidote is very intense. If it isn’t guided properly, it might — “
“Shut up and get out.” Elia gave the order to leave.
The doctor retreated from the room immediately, not daring to linger for a second.
The door closed, leaving only Elia and Kiz in the room.
Elia looked at the antidote in her hand. Then, she propped Kiz up, letting the girl lean into her arms, and poured the medicine into her mouth.
Of course, just like before, most of the liquid spilled out.
‘Damn it!’ Seeing this, Elia no longer hesitated.
She took a sip of the antidote herself, leaned down, and pressed her lips against Kiz’s. She used her tongue to pry open Kiz’s teeth and transferred the antidote into her mouth, forcing her to swallow.
One sip, two sips, three sips… until the entire bottle was finished.
Then, she placed her hand on Kiz’s chest and began to guide her Magic Power.
This time, the required magic was even stronger, and she had to be extremely careful.
A golden light slowly seeped into Kiz’s body, guiding the power of the antidote through her veins. This caused Kiz’s body to tremble violently.
Her face turned green then purple as her fingers gripped the bedsheets tightly. Her expression was twisted with immense pain.
‘Kiz… hang in there… please… hang in there…’
Elia’s mana output grew stronger and stronger, the golden light nearly illuminating the entire room.
Kiz’s body trembled even more violently.
Time passed second by second. Outside the window, the evening turned to night, and then the night turned to dawn.
Elia sat in the same position for 12 hours.
Her Magic Power was nearly exhausted, and her forehead was drenched in cold sweat.
But she didn’t stop.
Her hand remained on Kiz’s chest.
Finally, as the first rays of dawn light entered the room, Kiz’s breathing stabilized. Her complexion returned to normal, and her body stopped trembling.
Elia breathed a sigh of relief.
After a while, Kiz slowly opened her eyes.
