Lorevil needed to go to the academy’s training room one hour early today to use the Blood-Veined Grass powder Catherine had given her to stabilize her bloodline energy.
At the same time, she needed to cram for Vampire history and theoretical knowledge, making up for everything she lacked. She didn’t tell Noxia about these plans for now, wanting to surprise her after achieving some results.
After finishing breakfast, Lorevil did not delay and went straight to the training room of Holy Blood Academy. The training room was located in the underground building on the west side of the academy, avoiding direct sunlight. Although Vampires did not fear the sun, bloodline energy was more stable in dark environments.
Inside, there were various pieces of equipment to assist in cultivation, and the space was spacious. It was also divided into separate practical combat sparring areas, allowing students to practice freely.
Lorevil pulled a white cloth bag from her pocket—the one Catherine had given her—and poured out a small amount of Blood-Veined Grass powder. She brewed it with warm water and set it aside.
She began to warm up, attempting to practice her combat techniques. First, she repeated the footwork she had learned during her spar with Villody yesterday, then combined it with the basic fist techniques from her memory, punching and kicking the air.
‘Too bad there isn’t a punching bag for boxing. Otherwise, I could speed up my blood flow and better train my focus. My efficiency would be much higher.’
Lorevil threw a few punches into the air and then walked slowly, trying to mobilize her bloodline energy and concentrate it into her fists.
Sure enough, as soon as she applied force, Lorevil felt a tightness in her chest, and a trace of stagnant pain came from her meridians. The hidden dangers of forcibly mobilizing energy yesterday had not yet completely dissipated, and her bloodline energy was still not flowing smoothly enough.
‘If only I had family help.’
Lorevil did not push herself. Instead, she picked up the Blood-Veined Grass tea and took a large gulp, a sharp glint flashing in her eyes. In fact, given the original owner’s talent, she shouldn’t have been this passive. But she also knew that saying such things now was useless.
Because the original owner had caused all sorts of trouble, many resources had not been directed toward Lorevil. Otherwise, with abundant resources, the bloodline energy in Lorevil’s body would be greater, and advancing to a Tier 3 Vampire would be much easier. If Lorevil wanted to regain those resources, she could only rely on herself to produce results, letting the family see her change and her potential.
Lorevil bounced on the spot a few times.
‘It’s working. The physical discomfort is gradually disappearing.’
The old Lorevil hadn’t been very keen on practical combat, but for someone of her birth, her talent wasn’t too bad; otherwise, the current Lorevil wouldn’t have mastered the techniques so quickly.
After stabilizing her bloodline energy, Lorevil returned to her seat and began to seriously flip through the heavy volume of *Theory of Vampire Practical Combat* she had borrowed from the library.
The author was unknown. However, the book contained a lot of basic applications of bloodline energy—from the fundamental principles of energy control, to strategies for different opponents, and common misconceptions in actual combat. Lorevil benefited greatly from it.
Time passed minute by minute…
*Tap.*
It wasn’t until the sound of fingers tapping on the desk rang out that Lorevil was pulled out of her immersion in reading.
It was truly satisfying!
Lorevil felt that her understanding of bloodline energy had deepened. If she were to fight Villody again, she might have a chance of turning the tables.
‘Too bad I started my training so late.’ A look of regret appeared on Lorevil’s face.
Instructor Jerwen glanced at the book, and a rare look of approval appeared on his face as he said, “Lorevil, Catherine told me about your situation. You’ve made great progress.”
‘Catherine actually took the initiative to mention me to Jerwen?’ Lorevil was somewhat surprised.
“So, I wanted to ask for your opinion. Do you want to participate in the practical training camp this week? The points gained in the training camp will be added to your final grade. You did very well on the task from Madam Sharon, and I’ve already recorded a full score for you.”
Jerwen paused and added, “If you can participate…”
“I’ll participate,” Lorevil interrupted Instructor Jerwen.
Accumulating practical combat experience was what Lorevil needed most at the moment. Not to mention, she wanted to gain recognition from her family and the academy to obtain more cultivation resources.
“Very well. The training camp starts in two days. The location is the practical combat field on the back mountain of the academy. Remember to arrive half an hour early to check in. Room and board will be provided during the training camp. You can prepare after you go back.”

“How did you do it?”
The message in the Communication Blood Crystal was from Villody, Catherine’s cousin from a branch family.
“What’s wrong?”
“I just took a look at the Practical Combat Leaderboard. You actually have the same score as me! Out of a maximum of 100 points, you have 85?”
“Yeah.”
Lorevil’s fingers moved slightly as she typed out a message.
“Did Sister Catherine go to give you technical guidance again?”
“Yeah.”
Lorevil remained cold and detached.
On the other side of the Communication Blood Crystal, Villody slammed her hand on the table, her golden curls trembling slightly with anger.
*Ouch… that hurts.*
‘Catherine is leaving her own sister alone to guide Lorevil! Argh!’
The more Villody thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. She was Catherine’s biological sister, yet her repeated requests for practical technique guidance had been refused. Meanwhile, Lorevil, who had been pestering her sister before, was able to get special guidance.
Putting down the Communication Blood Crystal, Lorevil recalled her experience in the practical training.
Lorevil hadn’t expected this training to be so difficult. Most of the students participating in the training were the best among the Tier 2 Vampires, and some had even touched the threshold of Tier 3. Not only was their talent outstanding, but their practical combat experience was also far richer than hers.
Lorevil’s experience from just a few battles was far from enough to support her in fighting these elites. Furthermore, the training involved random matchups, and her opponent was different every time.
The scoring rules for the camp were quite strict: the base score was 50 points, with 10 points added for every win and 5 points deducted for every loss. It was like playing a ranked game solo.
By the end of the first day, Lorevil had 37 points, ranking dead last.
On the second day, the pressure on Lorevil was even greater. She hadn’t received systematic training since childhood like the other students, nor had she spent much time in the training room.
In order to improve her strength, Lorevil only thought about seizing every opportunity to better herself. To her, Catherine’s guidance was the fastest way to increase her power. Lorevil found Catherine and explained the situation, and Catherine agreed to help her.
For the next three days, Catherine set aside three hours every day to strictly guide Lorevil.
Half an hour.
One hour.
Two hours…
Lorevil trained with self-sacrificing intensity, even triggering that selfless combat state several times. Her Tier 2 combat skills became highly proficient, almost to the point of being instantaneous.
Under Catherine’s efficient guidance, Lorevil jumped from last place with 37 points to the top ten.
This was also the reason for Villody’s breakdown.
After this training camp, not only would the points she earned be added to her final grade, but Lorevil also gained the qualification for guidance from a high-level instructor.
For the guidance qualification, Catherine recommended her own mentor, Vivian.
‘How could I get all this without fighting for it?’ Lorevil stared at the screen of the Communication Blood Crystal.
Her family resources had been squandered by the original owner. She could only rely on her efforts at the academy to return to the sight of the family elders and compete for resources with her so-called gifted cousin.
She was forced into this by circumstances.
‘Next is the promotion to Tier 3.’
Under the guidance of a high-level instructor, advancing to Tier 3 would not be a problem.
The leap from Tier 2 to Tier 3 required not only sufficient accumulation of bloodline energy but also the completion of a bloodline awakening. Through a special meditation ritual, the hidden primordial power of the Vampire within the body would be awakened, causing a qualitative leap in bloodline energy.
Lorevil breathed a brief sigh of relief. She finally had some confidence to face future challenges.
However, awakening was even more difficult. Out of nearly one thousand Vampires in the grade, only a few hundred would eventually awaken to become Tier 3. Those who failed to awaken would have to stay at Tier 2 for another year.
