“Alright, I can’t eat any more.”
Lorevil waved her hand, still chewing on a piece of tenderloin.
Noxia reluctantly put down her spoon and fork, looking at Lorevil with a hint of regret. She hadn’t enjoyed enough of the romantic feeding time between a husband and wife before Lorevil stopped.
Most of the dishes Noxia had prepared ended up in Lorevil’s stomach. In contrast, Noxia had been focused on feeding her and had eaten very little herself.
“Go ahead and eat. Don’t worry about me,” Lorevil reminded her.
Only then did Noxia realize her stomach was empty, and she hurried to finish the remaining delicacies.
Meanwhile, Lorevil watched her wife and began to think.
She didn’t know much about this ability to return after death. There was too little information, so there wasn’t much she could deduce. She wasn’t even sure if there was a limit to the number of times she could rewind.
This time, she had luckily returned to a point before Noxia discovered anything suspicious.
‘If I don’t have such good luck next time, won’t I just keep dying? And when I die, I really do die once.’
‘I won’t go see Mahina tomorrow. Since I already saw that she was working fine before I died, there’s no need to make the trip to the cafe. I’ll stay home and accompany Noxia, and while I’m at it, I’ll deal with the matter regarding the Thorns.’
While Lorevil was lost in thought, Noxia had finished her meal and instructed the maids to clear the table.
“Lorevil, you look very tired. Are you alright?”
“It’s nothing serious.”
Lorevil snapped out of it and met Noxia’s worried gaze, her heart warming.
Her wife still cared about her.
As the saying goes, the deeper the love, the harsher the rebuke.
Thinking of her wife’s kitchen knife…
Lorevil shook her head. She immediately flashed a smile, relaxed her tense shoulders, and said with a mix of truth and playfulness, “It’s mainly because the food Noxia made was too delicious. I accidentally ate too much and feel a bit bloated.”
A smile bloomed on Noxia’s elegant face as she stood up.
Lorevil watched her in confusion, a hint of doubt rising in her mind: ‘What is she doing?’
A moment later, she saw Noxia walking toward her.
Noxia bent over to pull a wooden chair from nearby, placed it beside Lorevil, and then carefully sat down.
“Please use my legs as a pillow and rest for a while.”
Noxia’s voice was as gentle as water. A blush colored her pretty face, and her burgundy eyes were filled with concern for Lorevil.
Lorevil was stunned.
She had never imagined that Noxia would take the initiative to make such a request.
In her understanding, Noxia had always been shy and reserved, blushing even at the thought of holding hands, let alone such an intimate gesture.
Before Lorevil could react, Noxia reached out and placed Lorevil’s head onto her soft, slender thighs.
Noxia’s long hair fell across both sides of Lorevil’s face.
In an instant, a refreshing fragrance enveloped Lorevil’s nose, and a soft sensation traveled from her cheek to her brain.
Before Lorevil’s eyes were Noxia’s delicate features and gentle, burgundy eyes.
“Go to sleep…” Noxia said softly.
Noxia’s thighs were incredibly soft and pliant.
They didn’t feel stiff at all to Lorevil; instead, they provided an unprecedented sense of comfort.
‘Noxia’s legs are so soft… even more comfortable than the pillows on the bed.’
It felt as if Lorevil’s entire head was wrapped in cotton.
Lorevil couldn’t help but nuzzle her cheek against Noxia’s thigh.
All the exhaustion, pressure, and anxiety of the past few days seemed to find a release at this moment. She was completely enveloped and melted by Noxia’s tenderness.
“Don’t rub like that, it tickles,” Noxia whispered with a slight blush. She spoke with a tone of mock-reproach while her fingers gently stroked Lorevil’s smooth hair.
She was as gentle as a mother cradling a child, showing a trace of helpless yet indulgent laughter at Lorevil’s small movements.
Noxia was actually very nervous.
This was the first time she had proactively initiated such an intimate act. Her heart had been racing for a long time, and even her fingers felt a bit hot.
But seeing Lorevil’s exhausted appearance, Noxia didn’t care about anything else. She only wanted her to get some good rest.
“If you like it, stay as long as you want… Hurry and sleep.”
A wave of fatigue washed over her, and Lorevil, sunken into the softness, closed her eyes.
She slept very deeply and didn’t even dream.
By the time Lorevil woke up on Noxia’s lap, the sky outside had begun to dim.
“Thank you for the lap pillow, Noxia. I feel much better.”
Much of the fear in Lorevil’s heart had dissipated thanks to Noxia’s tenderness, so she spoke up.
Because Noxia had stayed in one position for a long time, a trace of undeniable pain appeared on her pretty face, and her eyebrows furrowed slightly.
“It’s my fault for resting too long. Let me carry you to the bedroom.”
Seeing this, Lorevil felt guilty.
She had only thought about her own rest and forgot that Noxia had been in one position for so long. Her legs must have gone numb ages ago.
“Okay,” Noxia nodded shyly.
Lorevil placed one hand behind her wife’s head and the other under the crook of Noxia’s slender legs. With a bit of strength, she lifted Noxia in a bridal carry.
Caught off guard, Noxia let out a soft cry and instinctively wrapped her arms around Lorevil’s neck.
“You…”
Noxia’s body trembled softly. “Be careful, don’t fall.”
Despite her words, Noxia’s body honestly snuggled closer into her embrace.
“I won’t fall. Don’t forget that I’ve trained. I’ll walk slowly,” Lorevil said with a smile.
Holding Noxia, who was too shy to look up, Lorevil passed several standing maids and reached their bedroom.
A maid opened the door, and Lorevil walked in, carefully placing Noxia on the edge of the soft bed.
Noxia’s legs dangled down, her skirt covering her knees but revealing a section of her fair calves. She wore a pair of black round-toe shoes on her feet.
Lorevil didn’t stand up immediately. Instead, she knelt down, her gaze landing on Noxia’s feet. She wanted to help her remove her shoes and socks so her legs could properly relax.
“No, don’t…”
Noxia let out a soft moan, too shy to raise her eyes.
Her beautiful face looked as though it had been painted with rouge, quickly flushing a deep crimson.
She never expected Lorevil would go to such lengths for her, even going as far as personally removing her shoes and socks.
Before Noxia could think of a reason to refuse, Lorevil’s fingers hooked into Noxia’s shoes, slid them off, and placed them on the floor.
A chill ran up from Noxia’s small feet, causing her to instinctively curl her toes. The tips of her ears were so red they looked like they might bleed.
“Can… can I leave the socks on?”
Noxia didn’t dare look at her own feet and could only turn her head to stare at the headboard as she asked.
Her socks were pale pink. Being watched by Lorevil like this made her feel incredibly bashful.
“Noxia’s legs are numb, so it’s better to take them off.”
Lorevil’s consideration was thorough.
Before Noxia could speak again, Lorevil had already pinched the top of the sock and slowly slid it down Noxia’s slender calf, revealing a small, glistening toe.
Then, using the same motion, she removed the sock from Noxia’s right foot.
The tingling sensation made Noxia tremble slightly. Her dainty toes curled tighter, and she buried her face in the pillow.
“There.”
Lorevil lifted Noxia’s feet, placed them on the bed, and folded the removed socks neatly beside the shoes.
“Noxia, it’s all thanks to your lap pillow today; otherwise, I wouldn’t have recovered so quickly. Since your legs are numb, let me give you a massage.”
Lorevil spoke seriously.
Lorevil had never given anyone a massage before, but for Noxia, she was willing to try. The knowledge she had gained during her practical training was now perfectly applicable.
“Mm…”
A quiet response came from within the pillow.
The rest of the night passed in silence.
