“Hidden one floor?”
Laige Yulian rubbed her chin.
“Each layer is lowered by a tiny bit, allowing an extra hidden floor to be quietly squeezed in.”
Laige Fuling explained.
“I see, but how do you know so much? Third Sister.”
Laige Yulian asked.
“It’s because you’re too stupid. It’s common knowledge, Second Sister.”
Laige Fuling said with a straight face, spouting nonsense.
“What kind of common knowledge is that?”
Laige Yulian sighed in exasperation.
Soon, Bulade led everyone through a winding corridor and arrived at a mysterious floor.
He exhausted his last bit of strength, his legs gave way, and he collapsed to the ground, unable to stand again.
The mages looked around and saw that at the end of the passage stood an abnormally thick steel door, its body gleaming with a cold metallic luster, silently blocking the way ahead.
“This door is quite sturdy.”
Laige Caicai said as she reached out and pressed the heavy steel door panel, then raised her hand and slashed out a sharp Air Slash, smashing the surveillance camera above the door.
As for this mechanical door, it was too thick; even magic could hardly break it.
But it’s fine; we mages naturally have our special unlocking methods.
To deal with this kind of mechanical creation, we just need to infiltrate mana into the gap between the door panel and the frame.
The mana will, like corrosive acid, melt all the precise yet fragile gears, lock tongues, and transmission structures inside.
Only a few faint “clicks” were heard from inside.
The steel mechanical door that had been as solid as gold was now forcibly unlocked, and it could be pushed open with ease.
“Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!”
As soon as the door opened, a burst of true, loud gunfire came from inside, completely different from the fake sound of Lu Xiya’s Magic Pistol—it was the roar of pure, violent gunpowder weapons.
Unfortunately, Third Sister’s Void Shield had long been proven in actual combat; once faced with continuous fire from dozens of assault rifles, with hundreds of bullets raining down like a storm, it remained as solid as ever, showing no signs of damage.
In the worldview of our world, conventional firearms are mere roadside junk; their power can hardly threaten mana operators.
Unless someone actually pulls out a doomsday weapon like a nuclear bomb, even mages would have to bow and admit defeat.
But as for ordinary firearms, the bullets they fire pose no real threat to orthodox mages, easily suppressed by the Magic Armor around the mage’s body, let alone shaking the professional defensive spells cast by Laige Fuling.
“Hmph, they really know how to hide.”
Protected by Third Sister’s Void Shield, Laige Caicai strode into the hidden floor, looking around to lock onto the enemies’ identities and positions.
Inside, it was resplendent and magnificent, with luxurious decorations, spacious and opulent, a stark contrast to the plain or cramped floors below.
Amidst this splendor, however, hid several cruel and ferocious esper beauties.
Each of them had gorgeous looks and slender figures, but wore highly revealing clothes, skillfully holding guns and firing at the door.
This kind of clothing, along with the cruel expressions on their faces, marked them as no decent people.
“Hmm, if I cut you, you won’t be worth any money in the future.”
Laige Caicai sneered.
“If you don’t want to die, put down your guns.”
Hearing this, the female gunmen indeed obediently stopped, froze in place, and slowly lowered their weapons as instructed.
The scene fell into a brief standstill.
“Where is your boss?”
Laige Caicai asked coldly.
They all pointed to the room at the end, instantly betraying their boss, and then ran off without looking back.
“Pretty female espers seem to be in high demand,”
Laige Caicai remarked as she walked toward the end of the corridor.
“What do you mean? Are you mocking me?”
Lu Xiya immediately became defensive.
“You’re way too sensitive,”
Laige Caicai said wryly.
“I wasn’t talking about you. How did you get that idea?”
“…”
Lu Xiya’s face darkened.
She quickly walked to the door at the end of the corridor, raised her Pure White Pistol, and shot the lock to vent her frustration.
“You can’t expect anything good from a dog’s mouth,”
Laige Yulian remarked.
“Big Sister, your mouth is really foul,”
Laige Fuling commented sharply.
“You two, shut up,”
Laige Caicai snapped.
“Let’s finish this quickly and go home.”
“Call the Internal Affairs Department to come handle the aftermath in advance,”
Laige Yulian said.
“I think we’re about done.”
“Right,”
Laige Caicai took out her phone to make the call.
“Wait, something’s wrong.”
Laige Fuling suddenly grabbed her sisters seriously.
Sure enough, the next moment, a powerful mana aura erupted from inside the room.
“Lu Xiya! Watch out!”
Laige Caicai cried out.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
The sound of a grating mana eruption, like a faulty engine exploding, was heard.
The previously arrogant Lu Xiya was blasted out the next second, disheveled and falling into Laige Caicai’s arms.
Lu Xiya immediately struggled to push away, looking slightly embarrassed, but quickly turned urgent and warned, “Demonization!”
“Fall back, fall back!”
Laige Caicai shouted, commanding everyone to retreat quickly.
Hearing the order, everyone moved and backed away dozens of steps, instantly creating distance from the target.
Then, the team readjusted their positions and assumed a battle formation.
“I knew it wouldn’t end that easily. Everyone, give it your all. This time, it’s no laughing matter,”
Laige Caicai took a deep breath.
As a transmigrator, she knew well the horror of Demonized Humans.
After all, these monsters were the main enemy type of the crappy game “Ling Xiang.”
A monster corrupted by magic backlash can no longer be called human.
But why did a Demon Man suddenly appear here?
“When I went in, I saw a man sucking on something. At first, I thought he was on drugs, but in the next second, his whole body erupted with an uncontrollable mana fluctuation,”
Lu Xiya said.
Everyone was silent.
“Why did you force me… why did you destroy everything… mages…”
Then, a withered ghostly hand, completely wrapped in violent, out-of-control mana, slowly reached out from behind the door panel.
The claw, skinny as a stick, suddenly grabbed the edge of the door.
A crisp “crack” was heard.
The heavy door panel was easily torn off like paper and casually discarded to the side.
A skinny man wearing only a pair of woolen pants appeared before everyone.
However, every pore on his body seemed to be spewing mana fluctuations, making his true appearance impossible to see.
“All mages deserve to die!”
The rampaging mana was crazily overloading and eroding his body, making him look like a burning ghost, on the verge of turning to ashes at any moment.
