“Haha, what a thrilling fight! But if you all keep holding back, Stormwind’s going to snag the final kill.”
Black King Caesar swapped to a new set of gear and led his Warriors in a charge.
Behind him, the backline of Stormwind’s elite team lit up with the glow of equipped set effects.
“This is him putting us all on the spot, huh?” Dreamweaver opened her mouth, unable to resist a quip.
“That’s just Caesar’s style.”
Zhenmo chuckled lightly, ordering Starry Myth’s members to down their prepared potions and equip their sets to join the fight.
“This guy, no wonder Sister Rose hates him so much.”
Doran shook her head.
Everyone had silently agreed to hold back, but he just had to call it out.
“Don’t you think it’s pretty manly?” Red Coral covered her mouth, smiling.
“Stop swooning already.”
Doran rolled her eyes, issuing commands through Roseheart’s team channel.
The Dark Bat King was undoubtedly powerful, but only to regular players.
With the deep resources of these major guilds, there was no way they’d be overwhelmed by a boss like this.
But considering the presence of other guilds, they couldn’t reveal too much of their true strength.
So, in earlier fights, they’d all held back to some extent.
However, after Stormwind laid things bare, they had no choice but to show more of their hidden power.
Otherwise, they’d lose any chance at claiming the loot rights.
And so, the defenseless Dark Bat King suffered.
Under the full onslaught of multiple guilds, its health bar plummeted rapidly.
But as its health neared 15%, a voice suddenly rang out across the Forest Ruins.
“Everyone, there’s still time to pull your people back. This boss definitely has a last-ditch counterattack.”
The guild leaders instinctively turned toward the voice.
The guild members’ attacks slowed slightly.
Eternal Spire’s leader, Silent Emotion, narrowed his eyes, looking suspiciously at Xueying, who had spoken. “What’s that supposed to mean, Vice Leader Xueying?”
“Nothing much, just a friendly reminder.” Xueying smiled faintly, immediately ordering Epic of the Empire’s melee classes to withdraw from the front.
Seeing Xueying’s decisiveness, Silent Emotion and the others were momentarily stunned.
They’d initially thought he was scheming something, but he didn’t seem to be lying.
Plus, Xueying had shared useful info earlier, lending some credibility to Epic of the Empire’s words in their minds.
“Warrior Teams 5 and 6, Paladin Team 4, hold the line and swap gear. Everyone else and Priests, pull back. Mages and Archers, keep DPS at over thirty yards.” While others hesitated, Doran from Roseheart took action first.
Black King Caesar, retreating from the front, thought for a moment and made a similar call.
After some hesitation, other guilds followed suit, leaving some melee classes and most DPS to ensure they could still compete for loot rights.
The reduced DPS gave the Dark Bat King a brief respite.
Yet its health continued to drop, falling below 10%.
With every sliver lost, the guild members on the frontlines grew tenser.
8%, 7%, 6%…
Finally, as the Dark Bat King’s health locked at 5%, a heart-wrenching wail echoed.
A terrifying blood-red light erupted from its body, rapidly spreading outward.
“Get out!”
The guild leaders, prepared as they were, reacted instantly to the Dark Bat King’s abnormal behavior.
But the melee classes couldn’t escape the blood-red light’s spread, swallowed instantly.
Some backline DPS, slow to react, also became part of the “blood sea.”
After unleashing such a powerful attack, the Dark Bat King’s once-dark sheen dulled instantly.
Its entire aura wilted, like a dying bird awaiting judgment.
Black King Caesar and the others felt a surge of joy.
But before they could issue commands, a figure suddenly appeared beside the weakened Dark Bat King.
A stealthed Rogue!?
“Kill him quick! He’s trying to steal the loot!”
Zhenmo, snapping to his senses, shouted and raised his staff, casting a wind blade toward the distant figure.
Everyone else reacted, grabbing their weapons.
Before the Warriors’ charge could reach, countless spells and arrows rained down on the figure at the center of the Forest Ruins.
But to their shock, the attacks were blocked by an invisible barrier.
“Hmph, a bunch of idiots. This big guy’s mine now.”
The figure tore a scroll, a hint of disdain curling their lips, mirroring the hidden smirk of someone nearby.
But no one could see it.
All the Forest Ruins crowd could see was a massive Judgment Sword, radiating holy power, materializing in the air and crashing down on the Dark Bat King.
“That guy…”
Black King Caesar and the others’ hearts sank, their faces turning grim.
A nobody had openly stolen their boss.
For their guilds’ reputation, this was a massive blow.
But no one, including that figure, expected what happened next—
Pierced by the Judgment Sword, the Dark Bat King let out a faint wail, as if calling out to something in its final moments.
As the wail faded, the Dark Bat King’s entire body shattered into blood-red fragments, swirling into the air and forming intricate crimson patterns.
Amid the storm of fragments, a petite figure suddenly appeared in everyone’s view, accompanied by a soft, melodious loli voice.
“Greetings, Lilina, seventeenth descendant of the Dracula family, answering my kin’s call. So…”
Her delicate fingertip touched her pink lips, revealing cute fangs.
“I hope all you big brothers and sisters will go easy on me.”
