They arrived smoothly at Isol City.
Lintis came to the door of Sery’s clothing shop and happened to see Sery standing there, looking suspicious.
“Sister Sery, what are you doing?”
Sery was startled. She looked in the direction of the voice, and a smile immediately spread across her face.
“Little Sisi, what brings you here? Are you already better?”
“I’m all better now. Please don’t treat me like a rare animal…”
Lintis spoke up, interrupting Sery’s attempt to reach out and touch her.
This, however, only aroused Sery’s suspicion. Her eyes fixed on Lintis, her face full of doubt.
Left with no choice, Lintis spun around twice, hopped a couple of times, and spread her arms to let the other woman get a good look, finally dispelling the doubts.
However, this childish behavior drew the gazes of people around them, making her feel a bit embarrassed.
Sery glanced around and realized the issue, so she simply pulled Lintis into the shop.
The two sat in the customer seating area, and Lintis continued asking:
“Sister Sery, what were you doing just now?”
“Well…” A troubled look appeared on Sery’s face. She hesitated for a moment before saying, “It’s nothing. It’s just that recently, my shop keeps getting harassed by drunkards. It’s interfering with business. And I always feel like there’s a gaze watching me. I felt it just now, so I came out to look. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything.”
Hearing this, Lintis narrowed her eyes. If Shilo were here and saw her like this, he’d already know this girl was thinking about something dangerous.
Sery, in the midst of her complaint, sighed. She seemed genuinely troubled by this matter. When she looked back at Lintis, the latter’s expression had already returned to normal.
“Forget it, forget it. Let’s not talk about this. Little Sisi has come all this way with difficulty. I don’t want bad moods to affect you.”
When she heard “come all this way with difficulty,” Lintis’s gaze subconsciously shifted to the side, thinking she was being subtly criticized. However, she soon realized the other woman had no such intention.
“Compared to that, why didn’t little Shilo come with you this time?” Sery asked curiously.
“Hmm… Mr. Shilo had something to do. He couldn’t come today, so I…”
“What!?”
Sery’s eyes widened. She slapped her hands on the table, interrupting Lintis and startling her.
“Ah… sorry, sorry.” Realizing her mistake, Sery quickly apologized while explaining, “I just think that little Shilo is terrible at reading the room. To actually use ‘having something to do’ as an excuse to refuse going out with little Sisi is too much!”
“Next time, I’ll definitely give him a good beating to avenge you!”
As she spoke, she rolled up her sleeves, revealing her tiny muscles that were almost invisible to the naked eye, making Lintis blink repeatedly.
“Sister Sery, it’s really fine… Mr. Shiro genuinely had something important and couldn’t come. I don’t blame him, and please don’t blame him either.”
After all, the man is unconscious… Lintis silently added in her heart.
Hearing the young girl in front of her defend the fool who was worrying her to death, Sery felt her heart melt. Wasn’t this child just too adorable?
However, to be honest, she didn’t really blame Shilo. Saying that was just to see how this child would react to Shilo not accompanying her. The result was quite pleasing, and she lost any intention to probe further, so she went along with it.
“Ah… fine, fine.” Sery waved her hand, looking very reluctant.
It seemed that if Lintis hadn’t pleaded for him, she was determined to go beat Shilo up.
Lintis didn’t know what was going on, but she had already silently noted a favor for Mr. Shilo in her mind. She had done him a huge favor, so he must make her lots of delicious food later.
Ah… so kind-hearted. No wonder I’m a saintess?
“Alright, Sister Sery, I came today to fulfill our agreement. I’m really sorry I couldn’t come yesterday because I was sick.” As she spoke, Lintis gave a slight bow.
Sery quickly helped her up and said under Lintis’s puzzled gaze:
“It’s fine. That kind of small thing doesn’t matter at all. As long as little Sisi is okay, that’s what counts. Besides, you came today, didn’t you?”
“But…” A glint flashed in Sery’s eyes, giving Lintis a bad premonition. “Since you’re here, you might as well help me out properly. Business has been slow lately anyway.”
“Come with me.”
Without waiting for Lintis to say anything more, Sery had already taken her hand and led her to the fitting room, telling her to wait inside while she went to pick out several sets of clothes and handed them in.
Lintis took the clothes and looked at them. Finding they were all quite conservative styles, she couldn’t help but sigh in relief.
She obediently changed and walked out.
As soon as she emerged, Sery, who had been waiting for a while, immediately came over. Her eyes were sparkling, and she was extremely excited.
At this moment, Lintis was wearing a white, sleeveless striped top. The edges of the top and the armholes were designed with ruffled frills, which, paired with her already adorable little face, looked sweet and lively.
The lower half was a high-waisted, A-line long skirt in a wine-red color, reaching down to her calves. The skirt hem fell naturally and would lift slightly when she walked. It was covered in warm-toned small floral prints and leaf patterns, making her look like a walking piece of spring, giving off a very warm feeling.
Her originally platinum-blonde long hair was braided into two thick braids. On her head was a small, round-topped hat in a light grayish-blue color, with a deep wine-red bow tied at the brim. Paired with the smile at the corner of her mouth, she looked both elegant and playful.
Sery’s enthusiastic actions made Lintis feel a little awkward. With slightly flushed cheeks, she asked somewhat stiffly:
“H-how is it?”
Hearing this, Sery stood up, puffed out her chest, took a deep breath, and responded with utmost solemnity:
“Amazing! To be honest, I feel like this outfit doesn’t even do little Sisi justice. With your figure and looks, any clothes you wear would have a unique flavor. Even a piece of ragged cloth…”
“Wait… ragged cloth?”
Sery suddenly looked Lintis up and down, her gaze sweeping over every inch of her body, nodding thoughtfully.
“Wouldn’t that be a bit too… erotic?”
Her fist clenched. It was clenched tight.
The corner of Lintis’s mouth twitched. If it were Mr. Shilo, she would have already rushed up to confront him. But they were in public now…
She had no choice but to endure the discomfort in her heart, trying to use words to awaken Sery, who had already fallen into fantasy.
“Sister Sery… could you, please stop looking like that?”
Unexpectedly, as soon as these words were spoken, Sery completely froze.
Just imagine, if you saw a peerlessly beautiful young girl in tattered clothes, twisting her body awkwardly, barely suppressing her shame, and saying to you, “Please stop staring at me,” what would your reaction be?
Sery didn’t know about others, but she gave her answer: a nosebleed flowed out very naturally.
Watching this, Lintis’s eyebrows twitched violently. She no longer had any intention of maintaining her image.
She clenched her small fist and delivered the deserved lesson to someone who had shown disrespect to the saintess.
“Ouch, that hurts!”
