“Oooohhh!”
With a clean and decisive over-the-shoulder throw, the match on the ring reached its conclusion.
The crowd erupted in thunderous cheers, celebrating the birth of a new victor.
Of course, there were also plenty of unlucky gamblers cursing loudly after betting on the wrong fighter and losing everything.
The victor arrogantly planted his size-44 foot on the loser’s head, displaying his well-developed muscles to the audience.
Here, the winner was expected to thoroughly humiliate the defeated!
However, his triumph didn’t last long before a cold female voice rang out.
“Should I kick you off, or will you roll off yourself?” A woman wearing a sports tank top leaped onto the ring.
The pair of fox ears on her head and her soft, fluffy large tail were particularly eye-catching.
“Desert Fox?”
The burly man who had just won turned pale the moment he saw the fox-eared woman standing across from him on the ring.
“Fine, fine, fine. I’ll roll off myself.”
Without caring whether he would hit the spectators below, he first tossed the man lying on the ground off the ring.
Then he obediently lay down himself and rolled off the platform.
“Tch.” Desert Fox curled her lip.
He was so cooperative that she no longer felt like beating him up.
Her gaze swept across the entire audience, passing over one muscular, imposing man after another.
“So, who wants to be my opponent?”
No one answered.
Everyone she looked at lowered their heads, not daring to meet her eyes.
“Boring.”
It seemed she wouldn’t be able to enjoy herself today either.
Desert Fox shook her head, preparing to leave the ring.
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
A familiar voice suddenly rang out, breaking the silence in the venue.
In an instant, everyone’s attention in the bar focused on the source of the voice.
An Li noticed the converging gazes and discreetly stepped back, positioning herself protectively in front of Su Xiaocheng.
The person who had spoken was Li Yanyan.
Ignoring the scorching stares from the crowd, she walked straight toward the central ring.
Along the way, people automatically parted to make a path for her.
“What are you doing here?” Desert Fox raised an eyebrow.
“I’m bringing a few newbies along.” Li Yanyan jumped onto the ring, took off her coat, and casually tossed it to Su Xiaocheng in the distance.
“Wanna go for a round♀?”
Desert Fox suggested.
“That’s exactly what I had in mind.” Li Yanyan loosened her wrists.
Below the ring, Su Xiaocheng and the others exchanged glances.
“Do they… know each other?” An Li asked curiously.
Desert Fox—as her title suggested—was the president of the Desert Fox Mercenary Association.
It was said she was the product of some genetic modification experiment, which left her with certain non-human features.
Thanks to that genetic modification, her physical abilities far surpassed those of ordinary people.
When paired with some special equipment, she could even engage in close-quarters combat with A-rank Witches.
Of course, on the ring, she wouldn’t use that special equipment.
“They probably do.”
Su Xiaocheng thought back to when they first arrived in Westwind City and Li Yanyan had pretended to be a dumb mercenary, along with her skilled fake invoicing.
There was likely some undisclosed connection between her and Desert Fox.
While the group was talking, the two women on the ring had already prepared themselves.
“How long has it been since we last had a free♀ combat?” Desert Fox said nostalgically.
“Can’t be helped, I have to save up contribution points!” Li Yanyan stayed alert to every small movement from Desert Fox, ready to prevent any sudden attack.
“Let me see how much stronger you’ve become.”
The moment the last syllable fell, Desert Fox attacked without warning.
Her right fist shot straight toward Li Yanyan’s face.
Already familiar with her opponent’s style, Li Yanyan remained vigilant and tilted her head to dodge.
The sharp fist wind brushed past, sending her hair flying.
She spun her body with the momentum, generating power from her waist.
Li Yanyan leaped into the air and whipped out her right leg, which was blocked by Desert Fox’s left hand.
“You’re pretty bold now, huh?” Having both feet off the ground in close combat was undoubtedly a major opening.
Ignoring her opponent’s mockery, Li Yanyan pressed forward.
Her entire body floated in the air as she clamped her legs around Desert Fox.
Then she used incredible core strength to twist in mid-air, spinning Desert Fox along with her.
In the middle of their entanglement, Desert Fox exerted her strength and broke free from Li Yanyan’s legs.
The two briefly separated in the air.
Li Yanyan had no intention of letting Desert Fox escape her control so easily.
She kicked out repeatedly with both legs, but both were blocked by Desert Fox’s hands in front of her body.
With a nimble turn, Li Yanyan landed steadily.
Across from her, Desert Fox also stabilized her stance.
After several exchanges back and forth, the two separated.
Desert Fox paused her attack.
“Fighting you is still the most fun.”
The others are so weak they don’t even interest me.” Desert Fox’s large tail swayed back and forth, clearly in a good mood.
Li Yanyan didn’t reply.
She charged forward and collided with Desert Fox.
Their bodies slammed together with a heavy thud.
The moment their bodies met, Li Yanyan drove an elbow toward Desert Fox’s abdomen.
To her surprise, the other woman didn’t dodge or resist and took the elbow strike head-on.
“Mmph.” Desert Fox let out a muffled groan.
Even with her enhanced physique, that hit wasn’t pleasant.
However, she hadn’t taken it for nothing.
A sly look flashed across Desert Fox’s face.
“?”
Li Yanyan sensed trouble, but given their current position and the fact that her old force had been expended while the new force had yet to generate, she couldn’t stop her opponent.
With lightning speed, Desert Fox pushed Li Yanyan to the ground.
As they fell, she even reached out one hand to cushion her, making sure she wouldn’t get hurt.
Her free hand landed squarely on Li Yanyan’s impressive softness.
Five fingers sank deeply into it.
“Aaaahhh!! I knew I shouldn’t do free♀ combat with you!” Li Yanyan let out a loud complaint.
“Aiya, Yanbao, you’re still as adorable as ever.”
Looking at the beautiful face before her, Desert Fox couldn’t resist leaning down and planting a light kiss on Li Yanyan’s forehead.
The atmosphere on the ring suddenly changed, stunning the group of burly men watching below, along with Su Xiaocheng and the others.
Pushing off the Desert Fox who was still lying on top of her and refusing to get up, Li Yanyan said irritably, “There are so many people here. Can you show some restraint?”
Desert Fox licked her lips with lingering satisfaction, smiling as her fox ears twitched.
“Aiya, Yanbao, you’re just too thin-skinned.”
Look at them—do they dare have any objections?”
She turned to the peanut gallery below the ring, her expression instantly switching to her battle face.
“Huh? I’m asking you guys. Do you have any objections?”
The spectators below hurriedly shook their heads.
One quick-witted person even snatched a bottle of strong liquor from a nearby server and poured a glass for Desert Fox.
Desert Fox downed the liquor in one gulp, then looked back at Li Yanyan.
“See? I told you they have no objections.”
“Is it possible that the one with objections is me?” Li Yanyan thought helplessly.
But this was just Desert Fox’s personality, and there wasn’t much she could do about it.
“Come on, have a few drinks with me.”
Desert Fox wrapped an arm around Li Yanyan, in high spirits.
