Another week passed after that.
Tsukimi Ryuune, who still could not find any proof, was losing patience.
She had already followed him for many days.
Every day he only went back and forth between school and home, living exactly like an office drone, and from head to toe there was not a single thing she felt she could suspect.
And so she decided to use the most direct method: releasing a monster.
“Jelanos, do you have a monster that can be controlled? Preferably one with a bit of intelligence.”
“A bit of intelligence… I understand.”
At those words, he directly offered her a capsule she had never seen before.
“This is the cosmic scientist Yapool. He counts as a mortal enemy of the Ultramen.”
Tsukimi Ryuune was toying with the Evil Beast Lock in her hands, and at the sight she curiously took it.
“Yapool…”
“Is he strong?”
At those words, Jelanos fell somewhat silent, and only after a long while did he answer.
“This… I don’t know about the rest, but the Super Beasts and monster weapons Yapool made really did give those fellows in the Land of Light trouble.”
“Is that so?”
At those words, she inserted the Prison Capsule in her hand into the Evil Beast Lock.
Special detainee detected.
Confirm release?
She pulled the trigger without the slightest hesitation.
The next second, she thought there would be a commotion as large as before.
Yet all that split open before her was a rift about the height of an ordinary human, and a humanoid creature in red spiked armor slowly walked out of it.
“Fifty thousand years. Has this damned shackle finally shattered?”
“Who are you? And where is this.”
Yapool, seeing the light of day again, had only just let out that sigh when he noticed the two figures before him.
“This is Earth, Yapool.”
“Earth? But I remember being imprisoned, don’t I?”
“…Wait. I remember you. You’re the cosmic thief Jelanos!”
“Cosmic thief?”
Faced with the doubtful look Tsukimi Ryuune shot him, Jelanos coughed twice and changed the subject.
“As you can see, someone released you from it. It was this lord beside me.”
“What do you mean? You’re saying the one who released me is this Earth woman?”
Jelanos nodded.
Tsukimi Ryuune, watching the two of them discuss for a long while, finally had their attention shift onto her.
“You’re Yapool? Jelanos said you can make monsters. Do you really have that ability.”
She asked curiously.
At that, Yapool acted as if he had heard something funny.
“Monsters? I, Yapool, do not make that kind of inferior creature. The Super Beasts in our hands crush every biological weapon!”
His voice grew more and more heated as he spoke.
“Super Beast?”
“It means a super monster, a creature whose combat power is far stronger than an ordinary monster’s.”
Jelanos explained from the side.
“I see, I see. I am rather curious to see whether this Super Beast you speak of can beat an Ultraman.”
“Ultraman?”
“? What.”
Yapool, as if he had heard some sensitive word, turned around with a crazed look.
“What did you just say? There is an Ultraman on this planet?!”
Seeing this, Tsukimi Ryuune was about to speak, then suddenly remembered that Jelanos beside her had just told her Yapool and the Ultramen were mortal enemies, and so she understood his reaction.
“Mm. There’s a guy called Roa. Can you help me deal with him? He’s already beaten several of my monsters.”
She said it casually.
For now, she still did not quite believe the Yapool before her had the ability to do it.
“Roa… Hahaha, hahahaha — !!!!”
At those words, Yapool burst into wild laughter, his electronic eyes flashing a bloody red light without cease.
“What, you know him?”
Tsukimi Ryuune frowned.
She did not know why, but she always felt not one of these aliens was right in the head.
“No. But I believe the Ultraman you spoke of exists on this planet. As it happens, I have a grudge to settle with these fellows…”
His words carried a deep obsession.
Seeing this, Tsukimi Ryuune looked again with curiosity at that strange face.
“Making a Super Beast takes time, and a relatively safe, hidden place. Can you provide those?”
He asked her.
“For those, you can just find Jelanos.”
“I am rather curious whether this Super Beast you speak of is really as strong as you boast.”
“Rest assured. I absolutely will not disappoint you.”
“This time, I will cut off Ultraman Roa’s head with my own hands!”
Seeing this, Tsukimi Ryuune pulled Jelanos aside to talk.
“Jelanos, is this guy you found for me reliable? He looks exactly like a madman.”
She questioned the alien before her with a frown.
At those words, he explained to her patiently and confidently.
“Rest assured, Master. The Yapool race is born a mortal enemy of the Ultramen. When it comes to dealing with Ultramen, they are very experienced.”
“Is that so? Then how did this guy get captured by someone else?”
“Uh… Even a horse can stumble. Anyone can be careless sometimes.”
At those words, Tsukimi Ryuune could not be bothered to keep talking with him.
She only told the two of them to hurry and make the Super Beast.
She would use it to force out the Ultraman’s true identity.
Once that was done, she left the space she was in.
At the same time, far away at Suzuran High School, a dozen kilometers off.
“Yuto, I sense the aura of the Evil Beast Lock.”
“What?!”
Kagami Yuto was in a classroom with the other teachers, listening to the dean hold a meeting, when Roa’s voice suddenly appeared in his mind.
Because the news was too explosive, he failed to hold his voice in.
“Sorry, sorry, please continue, sir.”
Once that was done, he turned his head and spoke quietly with Roa.
“What’s going on? Has another monster appeared?”
He could not leave right now, and could only ask him about the situation.
“Mm. In theory a monster was released, but I don’t sense it right now. It’s a little strange.”
“? There’s something like that.”
“Yes. I think we’d better be careful. Fortunately, this time I roughly caught the direction. Let’s go investigate together later.”
“All right.”
“Teacher Yuto, what are you doing?”
“Ah, no, sorry, sir, I just…”
The meeting ended.
Having taken a scolding, Kagami Yuto returned to the office looking listless.
Soon, though, he rallied again, took the transformation device in hand, and quietly walked to a place with no one around.
“Which direction, Roa? The one you sensed earlier.”
“Southwest. I can only sense the rough direction. I can’t get the coordinates exact.”
“All right.”
As soon as he finished, he pulled the trigger and transformed.
Ultraman Roa, Original Form!
There was no great commotion.
A silver light flashed over him, and then he transformed into a reduced-size giant.
Right after, he leapt into the sky, and his eyes soon found the southwest the other had spoken of.
A distance of a dozen kilometers was only a moment’s matter for an Ultraman.
But to the human forces stationed in Minamihara City, a missile-like target flashed across the radar display, and the staff on duty thought they had misseen it.
