School was about to end.
Li Yang and An Ling were still standing.
There was no punishment, but the homeroom teacher hadn’t let them sit down, so none of them dared to sit down on their own.
An Ling was standing in front of the whole class for the first time because she hadn’t done her homework.
She kept her head down, too embarrassed to look around.
Li Yang wasn’t experiencing this for the first time, and this time the punishment was so light it was almost nonexistent.
He turned his head and was still smiling when he looked at An Ling.
“Standing together with Lady An Ling is really a first. How about we set today as a memorial day? Call it the ‘First Time Both of Us Got Caught Not Doing Homework Memorial Day,’ and then for the next memorial day we’ll deliberately not do homework together once more.”
“You’re still joking around!”
An Ling was almost driven to laughter by Li Yang’s optimistic attitude.
She was truly speechless with this guy.
“If we have another time like this, aren’t you afraid Teacher Zhang will tell our parents?”
“Relax. Although the old class can punish people very strictly and make you copy more than ten times, she won’t tell the parents. Look at me.” Li Yang pointed at himself.
“I’ve been caught several times and never been reported to my parents.”
“Really?”
“Why would I lie to you.” Li Yang said confidently.
“Still no. There absolutely won’t be a next time.” An Ling said.
“It’s not a good thing anyway. Better to obediently write the homework. You too.”
“OK.” Li Yang secretly made an “OK” gesture to An Ling.
“With Lady An Ling here, as long as Lady An Ling writes the homework, this little one believes he can also benefit from the association and finish it.”
……
The dismissal bell finally rang. An Ling felt her legs had gone numb from standing.
In the classroom there was a chair behind her and a desk in front, and although the space was large, standing for a long time was still uncomfortable.
Although the homeroom teacher hadn’t punished them by making them copy extra homework, she still made the few of them stand all the way until dismissal.
It counted as a small punishment.
An Ling moved her stiff knees a little, and her tail swayed along with them, loosening her muscles and bones.
“Let’s go.”
Li Yang had already packed his backpack and turned around to look at her.
“Make up the homework tonight.”
“You actually know we have to make up the homework? From the way you were talking just now, I thought you weren’t planning to make it up at all.”
“Of course I wouldn’t dare. The old class is a good person, but if she already let us off and we still don’t finish it, the consequences will be very serious.”
“What kind of consequences?” An Ling looked at him and asked curiously.
“You’ll know if you try.”
“Go away, go away!”
An Ling angrily patted him on the back once. It wasn’t heavy, but it was loud.
“Do you think I’m stupid? If I try it, I’ll be done for.”
“You asked yourself, so of course you have to experience it personally.” Li Yang said with a wicked smile.
An Ling’s ears twitched. She knew Li Yang was joking, and her mood had improved quite a bit as well.
“Alright, alright, stop fooling around, you two. I don’t want to watch anymore.”
Zhou Meng poked her head over from the side.
“You two hurry back and make up the homework. Teacher Zhang said it has to be handed in before the holiday this week. Don’t forget again when the time comes.”
“Got it. Thank you for your concern, Class President.” Li Yang waved at her, then pulled up An Ling who was still in a daze.
“Let’s go, let’s go. If we keep dawdling there won’t be time. There are still many things to do this afternoon.”
The two walked out of the classroom, crossed the corridor, and went down the stairs.
An Ling followed beside Li Yang.
Li Yang’s figure could help block the still rather fierce afternoon sun for her, and An Ling also liked walking in the shade like this.
“Are we still practicing this afternoon?”
An Ling asked.
She actually wanted to use making up homework as an excuse to escape the afternoon practice.
Unlike this passionate high school student Li Yang, Li Yang would feel tired at the time but recover after resting a bit, while after she practiced her lower back and back would ache, and her legs would also feel sore.
“What? Wanting to skip practice?”
Li Yang looked down at her and said, a teasing tone in his voice.
“Don’t we have to make up the homework? And my legs are starting to feel sore now.”
“Your constitution is too poor.”
Li Yang shook his head.
“How about I take you running in the evenings from now on to exercise a bit?”
“No.”
An Ling refused decisively.
“I have to write homework at night, prepare ingredients for the next day, take a shower, and I also have to go to bed early.”
“Is sleeping more important, or is the body more important?”
“Both are important, and not resting well is even more harmful to the body.”
An Ling said righteously.
Li Yang was choked by her words for a moment and couldn’t help laughing.
“You little thing, you really are…”
“Really what?”
“Really impossible to deal with.”
Li Yang said as he reached out and rubbed the top of her head.
His fingers inadvertently touched her ears.
An Ling’s ears twitched sensitively, and her whole body jumped a step to the side as if she had been electrocuted.
“What are you doing!”
She covered her ears, her face instantly turning red.
“What’s wrong with touching them a little?”
Li Yang withdrew his hand.
The fluffy sensation still lingered between his fingers.
“It’s not like they’ll fall off.”
“I said no touching!”
An Ling glared at him. Her ears were pressed low, and her tail had also fluffed out.
“If there’s a next time, I’ll really bite you!”
“Alright, alright, no touching, no touching.” Li Yang laughed and raised both hands.
“I don’t have the money to get a rabies vaccine.”
“What! What do you mean by that.” An Ling’s fur fluffed out even more. “I’m not a dog!”
“Fine, fine. Whatever you say is whatever you say. Let’s go. Hurry back.”
The two figures interlaced as they walked into the small path.
“Do your legs really feel sore?” Li Yang turned his head to look at her and asked.
“Really. Especially the base of my calves. They’re both sore and painful. And I stood for so long this afternoon.”
“Then I’ll let you off this time. No practice today. First make up the homework.”
“Besides, you already practiced pretty well this morning. You definitely won’t make a fool of yourself.”
“Yay!” An Ling laughed happily. “Don’t worry. I’ll definitely practice tomorrow.”
