Luna froze.
She instinctively lowered her head, looking at Hell’s chest—the flat chest wrapped in a black windbreaker.
Then, she realized this guy was deliberately teasing her. Her face, still stained with tears, flushed bright red. It wasn’t from embarrassment, but from anger.
“You—!”
The girl grabbed the pillow beside her and threw it fiercely at Hell.
“You jerk—!”
The pillow arced through the air, hitting Hell’s face squarely.
Hell gently raised his hand and caught the incoming pillow steadily.
He held the pillow, looking at the girl on the bed whose cheeks were puffed with anger. A soft laugh came from beneath the mask.
“You never tell a single truth—!”
Luna’s voice was filled with anger, grievance, and a hint of… a spoiled complaint she herself hadn’t noticed.
“Even now you’re still mocking me!”
Hell looked at the girl’s bristling appearance and stopped teasing her. He set the pillow aside, suppressed his smile, and his tone turned serious.
“Alright. Actually, I really am a member of the Eternal Night Gospel, not a mole.”
Luna’s anger slowly subsided. She looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
“I did all this…”
Hell paused, as if weighing his words.
“Just because I can’t stand the actions of some people in the organization.”
Luna frowned slightly.
“Actions?”
She repeated the word, her eyes filled with confusion and curiosity. Hell nodded.
“Yes.”
His voice carried a rare hint of almost sincere meaning.
“Even though there are simpler ways to achieve goals, they satisfy their own selfish desires by doing irrelevant things.”
Hell paused, then continued, his tone filled with undisguised contempt.
“Like that guy T—his head is full of nothing but pornographic garbage, like an animal chasing after females. What’s the difference between him and livestock that only knows how to mate?”
As Luna heard this, T’s lecherous face appeared in her mind, along with his filthy words and the arrogance and smugness when he ordered his subordinates to “line up.” Her body couldn’t help but shiver.
If not for this man appearing in time—she didn’t dare think about it.
“As for the Crystal Husk Factory—the Adjudicator in charge also uses those Crystal Husks to satisfy his own selfish desires.”
Hell watched Luna’s reaction, continued speaking, his tone even more serious. His voice carried a trace of disgust.
“Using those monsters made on the production lines to slaughter innocent people, to create panic and chaos—not for the organization’s victory, but for his own benefit, to curry favor with superiors, to gain a higher position in the organization.”
“It’s really… fucking disgusting.”
With that, he shook his head, his tone carrying an indescribable, almost nauseating meaning.
“Disgusting.”
Luna listened to Hell’s words, not knowing what to say for a moment. She had never imagined that even in a villain organization, there would be someone like this. Someone… who couldn’t stand his colleagues’ actions. Someone… who chose to resist in this way.
The girl opened her mouth to say something but found she didn’t know what to ask. She just looked at him, her eyes carrying a complex, indescribable light.
‘Could this guy, even though he’s a villain, actually be… a good person? No, impossible. No matter how much he hated those colleagues, it didn’t change the fact that he was an Eternal Night Gospel Adjudicator. No matter how much he helped her, it didn’t change the fact that he had threatened and forced her before. But… the things he said, that tone, that undisguised disgust… didn’t seem fake.’
So Luna pursed her lips and asked.
“Then… what do you want to do?”
“The Eternal Night Gospel now has fallen apart.”
Hell leaned back in the chair, his posture casual. Hearing this question, he tilted his head slightly, the red “V” seeming to stare at Luna.
“The internal members all have their own agendas; they can’t possibly achieve the goal of ruling the world.”
At this point, his tone carried a hint of sarcasm.
“Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been fighting a hundred-year war with you bunch of ragtag Goddess Angels.”
Luna frowned slightly.
“What I want to do is change all of this.”
Hell continued. He looked at Luna, the red “V” flowing slowly.
“Increase efficiency.”
Luna froze. She looked at him, at that expressionless mask, listening to his words—and then the girl finally understood. It dawned on her.
‘So this guy… is dissatisfied with his teammates being weak? That they’re holding him back? So he used her hand to eliminate T, to eliminate the factory’s Adjudicator? So his fundamental goal isn’t being a “good person,” but rather—to rule the world faster and more efficiently?’
This thought flashed through Luna’s mind, and then an indescribable emotion surged in her heart.
‘This guy… no matter how you look at it, he’s an out-and-out villain. His “can’t stand the organization’s practices,” his “wanting to change everything”—in the end, it’s all for better ruling the world, for more effectively opposing the Goddess Angels. He’s not a good person, never was. It’s just… his methods are more covert, more cunning, more… more elusive than other Adjudicators.’
Luna bit her lower lip.
Then, she suddenly remembered Hell’s earlier words—”you bunch of ragtag Goddess Angels.” Ragtag? The girl looked up sharply, a flash of defiance in her pale golden eyes.
“Goddess Angel is not a ragtag bunch at all!”
Luna’s voice raised a little, with an eagerness to explain.
“We are very organized!”
Hearing this, Hell let out a light “Ha.” The laughter carried undisguised mockery.
“Very organized?”
He retorted, his tone teasing.
“So organized that the dedicated communication software for a Goddess Angel doesn’t even have facial or iris recognition?”
Luna was stunned.
“Just a fingerprint touch and it’s unlocked?”
Hell continued, his tone becoming more blunt.
“Not to mention any mana verification or security question verification.”
He looked at Luna, the red “V” seeming to mock her.
“This is what you call ‘very organized’?”
Luna’s pretty face flushed red.
The blush started from her cheeks and quickly spread to her ears and neck.
She opened her mouth to retort but found… she had no way to refute.
Because what this guy said was the truth.
“Starlight Covenant” really didn’t have any advanced verification mechanisms.
Fingerprint unlock was the highest authority. If someone really got her smartphone, they could easily access it and see all the information. Just like he had done earlier.
“I-I’ll make suggestions later to upgrade the Starlight Covenant system.”
Luna lowered her head, stammering. Her voice grew softer and softer, almost inaudible.
