“Your Majesty.”
Even though her body was wrapped in so many bandages from her injuries that she almost looked like a mummy, Shuang Ling still dropped to one knee and saluted Ella.
Dieyi helped her up and, for the first time, looked at Ella with a gaze seeking help.
Ella of course noticed that look.
For this stubborn creature, such a gaze seeking help might only appear once in her entire life.
It made the corner of Ella’s mouth lift slightly.
She did not want to miss such a rare chance to mock her.
The Alliance’s cannons had shattered the pillars of the transfer station.
This city on the sea had already begun to collapse.
The steel structure beneath their feet was visibly swaying.
Screams and shouts of people could be heard everywhere.
“Come on, Pathstrider. Please tell me you’ve already grown big enough.”
In just an instant of connection, Ella smelled the scent of rust.
Her fingers brushed past her nostrils.
Scarlet liquid dripped down drop by drop.
She wiped it roughly with the back of her hand.
“Finally found you. I truly never expected there would actually still be bugs left. I thought after blowing up the nest you should all have died out.”
A self-important voice came from above.
Ella raised her head.
Enormous demon wings were supporting a woman clad entirely in obsidian armor.
“I originally had no intention of coming after you personally. But since you killed my dear subordinates, I must come and ensure your deaths myself, little bugs.”
Hellfire ignited around her.
The high temperature quickly reached Ella’s side.
She looked at Shuang Ling.
Shuang Ling returned a severe expression.
In her current state it was impossible for her to handle this stronger demon.
“How does she know you blew up the nest?”
Ella asked in confusion.
This news should have been known only to them.
Zhuluo rotated the six eyes on her collarbones and calmly gave the answer.
“I understand now. No wonder we were able to obtain that bomb so easily. It was deliberately left for us by the Alliance people, precisely so that we would blow up the nest.”
“You were used?”
“This…”
For the first time, Dieyi was left speechless under Ella’s gaze.
She had originally intended to scold them, but then thought better of it.
The nest had been destined for destruction anyway.
She had simply never expected the Alliance to be involved in the process as well.
“Enough! Stop talking about that now! Protect Her Majesty! The Pathstrider is on its way! Buy time!”
Even with her entire body covered in wounds, Shuang Ling still stepped in front of Ella.
Her ankles were clearly trembling from the sharp pain.
One eye was wrapped in bandages so that only one eye remained functional.
Four of the six eyes on her collarbones had been blinded.
Yet Shuang Ling still stood in front of Ella without the slightest hesitation.
The high temperature from the hellfire in front of them was slightly weakened by the cold air radiating from Shuang Ling’s body.
Next came Zhuluo.
Ella could not understand what she was doing.
She could only see her palms continuously spinning out spider silk and weaving it onto her own body.
“Your Majesty, my spider silk is heat-resistant. I hope it helps.”
“Tch… If only we weren’t failures…”
Dieyi and Yiwen walked out together.
Dieyi even deliberately stood in a position further forward than Shuang Ling.
“Little bugs, you don’t need to use this method to emphasize who your boss is. I’m not blind.”
The female demon retracted her wings and landed on the ruins of the transfer station that were about to completely collapse.
She clasped her hands behind her back and lifted her nose.
Her amber eyes were not even focused.
She clearly had not come to fight.
She had only come to watch her enemies die.
“Truly terrifying, little bugs. If I had allowed you to develop in secret for a while longer, what could you have brought me? I do not wish to know, nor do I need to know anymore, because all of you will die here today.”
Tch! High and mighty bastard! Is this how your Alliance operates?! Doing the work of pirates while claiming to be the embodiment of justice?! Disgusting! Even a bug that only knows how to reproduce is far more noble than you people!
Hurry up and get here! Pathstrider!
“Cough cough cough!”
This is… blood? I’m coughing blood? Just how big have you grown?
Ella, shielded behind everyone, wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and staggered to steady herself.
She stepped on her own blood with her foot, trying to cover as much of the ground as possible.
“Alright, little bugs. Being able to confirm your deaths is enough for me. Rest assured, I am not some pervert who enjoys torturing people. I will ensure your deaths are thorough and swift enough.”
She raised her right hand.
The black flames that had been scattered around began to condense.
In front of her they formed a black blade.
A long sword burning with pitch-black fierce fire roasted the air.
Even a single glance made one’s eyes sting.
“Cough cough!”
Ella spat out another mouthful of blood.
She had grown even more exhausted, as if she had not slept for ten days.
Even the scene before her eyes had turned scarlet.
“Die.”
No!
In the end, the demon swung her sword.
The pitch-black flame blade elongated to ten meters or even longer.
Shuang Ling charged out first.
The cold air from her entire body clashed against the hellfire.
Then came the others.
Perhaps on the matter of loyalty to Ella they held no disagreement at all.
Still there was no smell of blood—only the smell of burning, the stench of char, the smell of scorching.
“Let them go!!!”
Boom boom boom!
“What’s going on?”
Along with a fluctuation that surged up from the sea and left ripples in the air, the hellfire in the demon’s hand actually dissipated.
“My flames? What’s happening?”
The four who had been burned over large areas of their bodies by the hellfire collapsed silently beside Ella.
The flames ignited the ruins beneath their feet.
In the midst of the ferocious fire, Ella opened her eyes.
Those eyes had reached a terrifying state.
They were full of blood vessels.
The pupils had contracted to the extreme.
Her breathing became rapid.
Her movements became difficult.
“Pathstrider… kill them!”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A certain enormous pulse entered the ears of everyone present.
On the vast sea more than a thousand meters away from the transfer station, a terrifying organ shaped like a fish fin tore through the ocean.
It approached like a shark, only more than a hundred times larger.
“What is that?!”
Under the demon’s horrified gaze, that fish fin ignored the battleship, sliced open the deck and armor, and after a massive explosion the battleship, broken into two sections, began to sink.
Yet the explosion did not slow the speed of that fish fin in the slightest.
It came accompanied by a tsunami.
The Alliance’s cannon fire exploding against its carapace could not even leave scorch marks.
“Cannons are useless! Attack it with magic!”
On the decks of the warships, teams of angels or demons or even elves began chanting magic together.
Giant fireballs far more terrifying than the warship cannons were created in the direction of that fish fin.
Even the seawater was being evaporated by those sun-like fireballs.
Then the fireballs were launched.
That radiance was so bright that even looking directly at it became painful.
It should have struck that fish fin head-on.
But at the instant of collision, a semi-transparent shield finally became visible in the air distorted by high temperature.
After the massive explosion, the already precarious transfer station continued to collapse.
Ella used her own body to shield the four unconscious figures who were about to fall.
After the mushroom cloud dissipated, the true form of that fish fin finally emerged above the sea surface.
Thick pitch-black armor.
Four pairs of red eyes distributed on both sides of a ferocious head.
The mana cannon muzzles on its shoulders had already begun gathering energy—weapons far more terrifying than the fireballs just now.
The pulse in its chest generated an anti-magic barrier.
Under such a terrifying body size, all originally mutually exclusive structures had been reasonably fused.
Its body cast down a giant shadow.
The Pathstrider, following its only master.
Had arrived.
