Ska had no other choice.
He pulled an incendiary grenade from the pocket of his trench coat, raised his hand, and threw it into the pile of tentacles.
The sizzling sound mixed with the incessant shrieks of the tentacles filled the air.
Ska raised his sniper rifle and aimed at Naya.
With a loud bang, fragments of tentacles splattered across the ground again.
Under the protection of this Tentacle Forest, Ska couldn’t harm the Three Pillar Gods in the slightest.
He looked up at his controlled teammates, feeling anxious but completely unaware of what was happening.
He pulled out an incendiary grenade and a smoke grenade from his chest pocket and hurled them toward the distant Three Pillar Gods.
Under the cover of smoke, Ska successfully reached Xin.
He waved his hand in front of her face, found no reaction, then grabbed her shoulders and shook her hard.
“Hey! What’s wrong with you! Are you in a trance? Say something!”
Xin remained unmoved.
She kept her head lowered and continued walking toward the Teleportation Array with slow steps.
“Huh… what’s this?”
Ska noticed a red tentacle protruding from the corner of Xin’s mouth.
Forgetting all politeness, he pried open her mouth and grabbed the tentacle.
This thing was tougher to pull out than Ska had imagined, and the harder he pulled, the more Xin struggled.
Bracing his foot against her stomach, he used both hands to yank the tentacle with all his strength.
With a popping sound, the red tentacle was yanked out by the root.
Ska quickly threw the tentacle monster away, wiping the slime off his hands with a look of disgust.
Xin collapsed to her knees after the tentacle was removed.
She dry-heaved and shook her head violently.
“Cough… I feel like something twisted my brain… Ugh…”
Seeing Xin return to normal, Ska quickly helped her up.
“Buddy, are you awake?! Are you awake?!”
Xin was still a bit dazed.
She looked up at the Tentacle Forest and asked in a confused tone,
“What’s going on? What happened?”
Ska explained the current situation as fast as he could.
“We’ve all been tricked! These Three Pillar Gods are actually members of the Eternal Organization! They’ve captured Geheluosi, and to make sure their plan doesn’t fail, they’re going to kill us all!”
“Huh…? Huh…?”
“Stop saying ‘huh’! Come help!”
To prevent tentacle attacks, Ska threw a ring of plasma grenades around himself.
The powerful electric current mixed with sparks kept the tentacles at bay.
Taking advantage of this, Ska quickly moved to Suo’en.
“It’s too tight! I can’t get it out!”
Ska pulled hard at the tentacle in Suo’en’s mouth, but the thing had such a tight grip that it was too slippery and soft to hold.
Xin strode over to Ska.
She gripped the tentacle’s flesh with her nails, then pressed her palm against Suo’en’s face while pulling with her other hand, yanking the tentacle out in one go.
“What the hell is this thing…?”
Ska looked with disgust at the squirming tentacle in Xin’s hand.
He had no idea how things like this could grow inside people.
But Xin seemed to be thinking.
She looked up at Shabu’s position through the smoke and explained,
“If I’m not mistaken, this thing is a piece of the tentacle monster’s flesh. The people from the Primordial Organization said it was fine to roast the flesh and eat it. Looks like they were all deceived!”
“Ugh… cough… How did I end up here…?”
Suo’en finally came to.
He looked at the smoke and the Tentacle Forest, completely confused about what was happening.
The two explained again.
Suo’en’s eyes widened, and he said in disbelief,
“The Leader captured Madam and wants to kill us all? How is that possible?!”
Xin used the Steel Refining Art to forge a long blade, then grabbed Suo’en by the collar and said fiercely,
“Then take a good look at what’s going on right now! If you’re still loyal to your leader, I’ll stab you to death right now!”
The smoke and flames gradually dissipated, revealing Noah’s figure inside the Teleportation Array.
Suo’en looked up and was immediately startled by the eerie sight.
“Madam! Madam, what’s wrong with you!”
Seeing that Suo’en’s first concern was Noah, Xin thrust the long blade into his hand.
“Fine, looks like you haven’t lost your mind. I don’t know what’s gotten into your leader, but the priority now is to get her out!”
Did Xin care about Naya’s plan? No.
She didn’t know why the Three Pillar Gods had trapped Noah, and even if they blew this place up, she wouldn’t care.
But Noah had shown her kindness.
It was Noah who had sent Suo’en to rescue her back then.
Now that Noah was in trouble, it was time to repay that debt.
Death was not scary to the Black Cat Clan, because they always believed in the existence of the City of the Dead.
Only an honorable death could let them return to the embrace of the Death God.
Xin forged a katana with her hand, then strode toward Noah.
“You two go save the others! Save whoever you can! I’ll hold off these tentacles!”

Suo’en pulled out tentacles one by one, then came to an ordinary member.
He pried open the member’s mouth but found no tentacle inside.
Just as Suo’en reached in to check, a cluster of tentacles shot out from the member’s mouth like bullets.
The sharp tentacles nearly blew Suo’en’s head off.
When the ambush failed, they retracted.
Suo’en jumped back in shock.
Countless tentacles burst from inside the member’s clothes, and he continued walking toward the Teleportation Array with stiff steps.
Suo’en cut him in half with a single slash, only to find that his entire body was filled with tentacles.
He glanced at the other ordinary members and realized that, like this one, they had all been completely invaded.
“These people are beyond saving…”
“Then send them off!”
Xin swung her blade and cleaved through another member’s body, spattering severed tentacles and slime across the ground.
As she hacked through the thicket of tentacles in front of her, she shouted at Ska,
“Attack! Attack! Use whatever you’ve got!”
Ska had been preparing in the back for a long time.
Using the few iron tools he had left, he forged a rocket launcher.
Although its destructive power was limited, it was the largest area-of-effect weapon he could muster.
“Buddy! Get clear!”
Ska hoisted the rocket launcher onto his shoulder, aimed at Naya, and fired.
“You shameless liar! I’ll show you the power of technology!”
With a thunderous boom, the chaotic tentacle thicket was blown open, leaving a huge gap.
Xin crouched low, pushed off with her legs, and charged straight at Shabu.
In her understanding, these tentacles must have been created by Shabu.
Even if not, killing one of the Three Pillar Gods would disrupt their ritual.
But Naya simply smiled lightly, not even moving a step.
He raised his arms, faced Noah, and said in a devout tone,
“Geheluosi… Great Geheluosi! Someone seeks to stop the Three Pillar Gods from offering this sweet dream. Please descend your wrath and punish these trespassers!”
