“Hey? Looks like a fight up ahead, something interesting to watch.” A passing man said to his companion.
“That’s Vivian!! You dare watch her spectacle?”
“If she gets carried away, she’ll hit you too!”
The companion hurriedly pulled the man who wanted to watch the excitement away, fearing his friend might do something irrational.
“I’ve only been away from Ma’en City for a few days, and my reputation has actually improved.”
Vivian heard the discussion behind her and was deeply surprised.
After all, the last time she beat someone up on Black Rat Street, she created a no-man’s-land around the area.
Now, there were actually still people who wanted to watch the show. It was truly rare.
“Stop playing dead, Old Tom.”
“I don’t believe that’s all you’ve got.”
Vivian kicked Old Tom on the ground.
A kind gesture to help the fallen old man get up.
Gurgle gurgle.
A sound of flesh grinding came from within Old Tom’s body.
His curled-up form began to writhe violently, a huge fleshy bulge swelling on his back.
Riiip!
The old man’s back actually tore open a large gash, fresh red blood spilling onto the floorboards.
A bloody, fleshy ball rolled out of the opening, slowly stretching out its limbs.
A tall, slender figure with no skin covering it stood up.
Bright red muscles were directly exposed to the air, intertwined with yellow fat.
Blood droplets constantly slid from his body, dripping onto the ground.
“That’s more like it. A monster should look like a monster. Wearing human skin made me almost feel bad about hitting you.”
Vivian’s expression remained calm as ever, even finding the mood to tease the creature before her.
“You… what do you want?”
The horrifying-looking Old Tom opened his lipless mouth, his voice raspy.
“A Vampire killed someone within Ma’en City, and made a huge mess of it.”
“It has severely affected my daily life.”
Vivian sat back down on the chair, speaking in a flat tone.
“I’m a good person.”
“I want to send him to the underworld to reunite with his prematurely deceased parents.”
“So tell me, the information about him in your head.”
“Sorry, I can’t say it.”
“Why? Do you think I’m bluffing?”
Vivian said, puzzled.
Was this criminal so charismatic?
Old Tom pointed a finger at his own beating heart in his chest.
“He placed a magic spell on my heart. If I betray his information…”
“The magic will trigger and explode my heart.”
“Three… months ago…”
Old Tom suddenly clutched his heart, his face full of agony.
Thump thump thump.
A clearly audible heartbeat sounded. Vivian looked at his chest.
His heart was beating violently, as if it might burst out of his ribcage the next second.
“Maybe you should calm down first,” Vivian said.
She was afraid Old Tom would drop dead before he even finished speaking.
After recovering for a moment, Old Tom took a deep breath.
“Three months ago, he suddenly sought me out.”
“He wanted me to… cough cough cough!“
Before he could finish, he coughed up a large mouthful of dark red blood.
Vivian quickly stepped forward, pressing her palm against Old Tom’s chest.
A purple halo appeared on her palm.
Under Vivian’s suppression, the nearly out-of-control heart gradually stabilized.
“Are you okay?” Vivian asked with concern.
“Cough cough cough…“
“There’s an item in the house that can suppress this magic…”
“Let’s talk inside.”
Old Tom spat out another large mouthful of blood, trembling as he pointed towards his wooden hut.
“Fine.”
Vivian hesitated for a moment, but agreed.
She walked towards the large hole she had made in the door.
Old Tom hung his head and followed behind Vivian.
Just as Vivian was about to step over the collapsed corner of the wall to climb into the house, an accident happened.
A figure suddenly jumped out from behind the wall!
The figure swung a claw fiercely, attacking Vivian’s face.
Vivian leaned her body back, jumping backwards to dodge this treacherous strike.
But Old Tom behind her had been waiting for this moment.
All the weakness and fear on his face faded away, revealing the madness beneath.
From his bloody arm, stark white bone matter suddenly protruded, forming a sharp bone blade.
A sound of something cutting through the air came from behind.
Vivian turned her head and saw a bone blade swinging towards her neck.
The bone blade and the sharp claw in front of her formed a pincer attack from both sides!
“To think I was fooled. How troublesome~”
Vivian muttered impatiently.
Facing the two fierce attacks from front and back, she didn’t dodge or evade.
She raised her right foot, then
Stomped down hard!
BOOM!!
Purple flames erupted violently from the tip of her foot.
The flames surged along the cracked ground, spreading out in a circle.
The instantly erupted purple energy actually blasted Old Tom and the attacker from behind the wall away.
The wooden hut was blown apart, wood splinters flying everywhere like scattered flowers.
Splash splash splash.
Fresh red blood fell like rain.
Vivian gathered a ball of blood in her palm, which then transformed into a black bat-eared parasol.
It blocked all the blood rain.
After all, it wouldn’t look good to get her clothes dirty…
Squelch thud.
Old Tom landed on the opposite side of the street, condition unknown.
As for the attacker from behind the wall, the lower half of his body below the waist had disappeared.
From the torn opening in his abdominal cavity, a length of pale, white intestine trailed out.
Bizarrely.
He still had the ability to move!
Vivian watched with interest as this guy with only an upper body left dragged his intestines, crawling towards her.
After leaving a trail of blood on the ground, this crawling half-man stretched out a claw, grabbing for Vivian’s ankle.
“Are you human?”
“No offense, I’m just asking.”
Vivian easily dodged, asking in return.
The half-man didn’t answer, just mindlessly attacked Vivian’s ankle again.
“I was overthinking it…”
She lifted her foot and stomped, crushing the half-man’s head to pieces.
She even ground it a few times with her sole, just in case of resurrection.
Vivian turned around, looking at Old Tom not far away.
Her dark red pupils reflected a strange light.
“Where is that Vampire?”
Vivian squatted down in front of Old Tom, meeting his eyes at his level.
“……”
Old Tom gritted his teeth, saying nothing.
Vivian clicked her tongue. Still a tough nut to crack.
‘I wish I knew some kind of lightning spell.’
‘Maybe a little shock would make him talk.’
“In that case, you can go ahead of him.”
“Don’t worry too much, he’ll be joining you soon.”
Vivian didn’t have much patience to waste on him either.
She reached out her hand, her five fingers slowly piercing into Old Tom’s chest like blades.
Unfamiliar with human anatomy, Vivian fumbled around inside his chest for a while.
Large amounts of bloody foam spilled from the corners of Old Tom’s mouth, accompanied by muffled, low roars.
“Found it~”
Like a child finding their favorite toy, Vivian’s face instantly lit up with a smile.
She yanked it out with force.
A warm, still-beating heart was pulled out by Vivian.
