She lost the ability to move.
The girl coughed up a mouthful of blood, her body going limp and sliding to the floor, losing the ability to move.
The blind murderer staggered, clenched his fists, and swore to smash this child’s skull.
He had locked onto his target.
Suddenly, a breath of cold air was exhaled from behind him.
At the same time, the scarlet, long-handled bone knife of her demonic form appeared horizontally against the murderer’s neck.
The girl behind the man looked cold as ice.
Shiya endured the excruciating pain, turned the long-handled bone knife embedded in her palm, and slashed deeply across most of his neck.
As if all strength had been drained from him, the murderer tilted his head back.
Gripping the knife tip in her hand, the girl flung it hard.
Pfft—!
Under the dim yellow light in the corridor, the man’s shadow burst into a spray of waves.
Dark-red blood splashed onto the wall.
The murderer’s corpse crashed to the ground.
The girl swayed and plopped down onto the floor.
Piercing, bone-deep pain made her entire body tremble violently.
Because of the excessive movement earlier, her palm was already a bloody mess, twitching uncontrollably and gradually going numb.
Shiya’s eyelids rolled up, and she fainted.
Little Leonora saw this.
Ignoring her own weakness, she propped herself up on her elbows and crawled inch by inch to Shiya’s side.
“Don’t fall asleep. If you fall asleep, you might never wake up.”
“You… are you all right?”
She shook the girl’s body.
Seeing no effect, she forced herself up, intending to look for healing medicine.
At that moment, a hand pressed down on her shoulder, forcing her to sit back down.
A mature female voice sounded above Little Leonora’s head.
“Let me handle this, young lady.”
The tall, peach-blossom-faced chestnut-haired girl crouched down.
First, she disinfected and stopped the bleeding, then applied healing potion.
She effortlessly pulled out the long-handled bone knife stuck in Shiya’s palm.
Then, before too much blood was lost, she treated the wound at incredible speed.
But before the young lady could breathe a sigh of relief, the chestnut-haired woman removed all of Shiya’s defenses right in front of her—along with that white scenery.
The young lady’s wounded organs immediately stopped hurting.
She stood up and stopped the woman’s next move.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing?”
The chestnut-haired woman blinked her innocent deer eyes.
“I’m healing her, young lady. You don’t think this can be done without removing all her defenses, do you?”
Little Leonora let out a whimper.
Having lost most of her memories, she was completely ignorant of matters between women.
She could only watch as the woman held the utterly defenseless Shiya in her arms.
Although her body had changed greatly for some reason, growing much taller, when she felt Sister Shiya’s full, tender touch pressing against her own flat horizon, she still ungracefully swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
The two fingers stained with healing potion trembled slightly, then slowly traced along the girl’s flawless snow-white skin, passing over that hateful wound.
Perhaps feeling the stinging sensation from her back and some strange discomfort, the still unconscious Shiya couldn’t help but let out a soft moan.
For a moment, an eerie silence filled the infirmary.
Light-red eyes watched unblinking, slender lashes quivering.
Little Leonora finally spoke awkwardly.
“I want to help too.”
She couldn’t help feeling weak inside, her cheeks hot.
Even though it was a perfectly reasonable request, when she said it, steam rose from Little Leonora’s head in circles.
Under Little Leonora’s puzzled gaze, she turned the defenseless Shiya around to face this still immature little phoenix.
Unexpectedly, the chestnut-haired woman readily agreed.
She covered her eyes tightly with both hands, but unconsciously left a gap in just the right place.
“You… hurry up and cover her… the places she shouldn’t be seen!”
As if sensing something very amusing, Ilya curled the corner of her mouth and did as told without protest.
Then, with her palm, she firmly covered the place Little Leonora had said shouldn’t be seen.
The young lady’s exasperated voice sounded in her ear.
“Not like that, you shameless hussy!”
Ilya let out an exaggerated sigh and released the thing that shouldn’t be seen.
“So troublesome, young lady. Why don’t I just handle Sister Shiya’s scratches myself?”
“Hmph, don’t even think about it. We already agreed!”
Shiya’s consciousness was in chaos.
She felt as if two different strange sensations were fighting over her body.
She suddenly opened her eyes and saw the young lady jumping up and slapping away a strangely familiar hand.
Then she dabbed some ice-cold blue potion onto the scratch on her neck.
As if equally surprised that the girl had woken up so quickly, Little Leonora’s body stiffened.
She landed unsteadily, and her finger shifted.
It happened to land on the only imperfect spot along the girl’s perfect curve, and flicked it heavily.
The scenery line trembled lightly.
“This little rascal!”
Shiya’s brain short-circuited for a moment, then she let out a shocked, indignant cry and reached out to twist Little Leonora’s ear.
But just then, a slender, elegant hand covered her lips.
“Sister Shiya, you really shouldn’t be too loud.”
“You wouldn’t want anyone to be attracted over here, would you?”
The girl was startled, then without any mercy, she curled her finger and flicked the woman’s forehead.
“Little Ilya, you’re also being improper with the young lady!”
“Hey, she started it first.”
After a moment, Shiya put her defenses back on and began to seriously examine Ilya, who was now a head taller than her.
The woman’s figure was tall and slender, well-proportioned.
A head of chestnut hair cascaded down to her waist.
Her clear, deer-like eyes were slightly lowered, the ends of her eyes soft and neat, carrying an innocent and serene aura.
She stepped forward, her tone laced with a hint of dependence, while her hand quietly rose, her fingertip lightly pressing against the girl’s chin.
“Sister Shiya.”
Shiya flushed with discomfort.
She tried to pull away, but due to the oppressive feeling from the height difference, she didn’t dare speak for a long time.
The girl didn’t dare resist, but that didn’t mean the young lady beside her had no temper.
Little Leonora directly delivered a headbutt, slamming hard into Ilya’s lower abdomen.
The tiny young lady’s temper seemed much fiercer than before.
“If you’re going to talk, then just talk. Why use your hands and feet?”
Caught off guard, Ilya hissed and retreated several steps in pain.
She didn’t complain or fight back.
Instead, she stared at Shiya with a pitiful, moist gaze.
When those light-red eyes glanced at Shiya, they faintly carried an inexplicable grudge.
She clearly had a steady temperament, with the unique bearing of a mature woman in every gesture, yet in front of Shiya, she put on the look of a helpless, pitiful little thing.
Shiya truly couldn’t stand the heavy, oppressive atmosphere when the two of them fixed their eyes on her.
She skillfully changed the topic as if by instinct.
“By the way, Ilya, after you went missing, what exactly happened?”
“The young lady and I went through a lot to find you.”
The girl raised her hand to touch the top of her head, then gestured at the woman who was much taller than herself.
“And you’ve grown this much bigger…”
This immediately drew the attention of Ilya and Little Leonora.
Ilya bent down, took Shiya’s hand, and placed it on her head.
Her gaze was tender and affectionate, truly like a doe hoping to attract the sympathy of its kind.
“Sister Shiya, that’s a long story.”
She frowned with some difficulty.
Then she quickly came up with an idea.
Not standing on ceremony with the girl, she turned her back and directly unzipped her clothing.
The fabric slipped down from her shoulders inch by inch, revealing the violet flower pattern on the woman’s back—like a huge maw gaping wide and gnawing at her.
Compared to the lifeless, gloomy violet flower curse planted on Yige’er’s arm, the pattern on the woman’s back appeared even more eerie and gaudily beautiful.
“Back then, I was caught by a woman who called herself the professor’s assistant and taken to the Longevity Factory.”
“She made me drink some kind of potion. When I woke up, I found myself under the Flower God curse—not the same as my brother’s, but with symptoms like Aunt Martha’s.”
Shiya opened her mouth, but before she could digest this enormous amount of information, Little Leonora beside her clenched her pink fist and clapped it into her palm.
“Oh, I remember now. The professor performed my surgery right here in this infirmary.”
A few shades of color quietly drained from the young lady’s pretty face.
Shiya’s heart tightened.
She knew they couldn’t delay any longer.
They had to return to the surface before the young lady remembered everything, and seek help from the Duke’s Estate.
