Chapter 7: Bunny Girl?

Lu Yushan felt a bit better, thanks to the two innocent passersby.

Because of the sudden noise just now, two young people had noticed the area. 

They had originally planned to steer clear of the place, but upon spotting a magical girl there, they actually walked over on their own.

What greeted them was a face-full of scolding from Lu Yushan.

She poured every ounce of her discomfort into her words.

But she had no idea these two were die-hard magical girl fans. 

One of them was even wearing a sports camera.

Plop—

A raindrop smacked Lu Yushan in the face. 

She looked up and saw heavy, thick clouds.

Is it going to rain again?

The thought had barely formed when the downpour intensified in an instant. 

Fat raindrops began hammering down. 

Just as she was about to step into the entrance for shelter, she slammed straight into Peachfluff, who came shooting out at high speed.

“Hey? Hey? I’m heading over right now. You have to stay alive, okay? Alive.”

The phone that had fallen to the ground carried a voice from the speaker. 

If anyone listened closely, they would catch background words like “master” and “maid.” 

The screen displayed the contact name: Qiong Ling.

“Lu Yushan! Please, I’m begging you, help…”

Peachfluff’s face was streaked with tears. 

Rain mixed with the dust and blood on its body, making it look especially wretched. 

Its tone was pure pleading, with none of its earlier arrogance.

“Okay.”

Lu Yushan offered no extra words. 

She stood up quickly, her right hand grasping at empty air. 

The magic staff as tall as she was appeared in her grip in the blink of an eye. 

She lifted her foot, ready to enter the passage.

Peachfluff grew agitated. It had not expected Lu Yushan to agree so readily.

It knew that if even Qinghai Starlight could not handle the threat, Lu Yushan charging in would be no different from suicide.

Yet it could not bring itself to stop her. Right now she was the only one who could save Qinghai Starlight.

All kinds of emotions tangled inside Peachfluff. It opened its mouth, wanting to speak but holding back.

“Be careful…”

It had only managed half the warning when the other party had already flown into the darkness. It did not know whether Lu Yushan could still hear.

Under normal circumstances, for a magical girl.

No matter how severe the injury, a simple status change would restore her to full health.

There was one condition, however: the body had to be intact—at least visibly whole. Even if the parts had to be pieced back together, it would work.

Right now, the most important thing for Qinghai Starlight was simply staying alive.

Whoosh—

Missed.

Whoosh—

Missed again.

Qinghai Starlight dared not slack off for even a second. 

She quickly realized the monster in front of her had the ability to devour light.

The unnatural darkness all around was clearly its doing.

Light bullets she fired faded away almost instantly in the gloom. 

The monster’s presence blended perfectly into the shadows, making it nearly impossible to detect.

This was exactly why she had failed to notice it earlier.

Qinghai Starlight felt that this was less like a hunt and more like the creature toying with her.

A chill suddenly ran down the back of her neck. The monster’s aura appeared directly behind her.

She spun around fast, channeling her magic power. 

A faint blue barrier materialized in front of her and blocked the monster’s strike.

The moment the monster’s attack touched the barrier, it scattered. 

Almost simultaneously, Qinghai Starlight sensed the aura behind her once more.

Ah… I’m finished.

Qinghai Starlight sighed inwardly. 

There was no way she could block this next blow.

A memory flashed through her mind—the first time she had met Peachfluff. 

Back then, its mouth had not been so sharp.

Thank you.

Bang—!

The shock wave from the impact slammed into her back, but the expected attack never landed. 

Someone seemed to have blocked it for her.

Qinghai Starlight turned her head. 

A petite red figure was holding the monster’s fangs at bay with her magic staff.

Crack—crack—crack—

The monster’s body trembled from the force it was exerting. 

The staff and fangs collided with a terrifying sound.

Lu Yushan stood firm, coldly staring down the giant creature before her.

How is this possible!

In Qinghai Starlight’s stunned gaze, the monster was steadily pushed backward by Lu Yushan’s overwhelming strength.

Realizing it could not win through raw power, the monster released its fangs, leaped back, and vanished into the darkness.

With her eyes unable to track the creature, Lu Yushan simply closed them. 

Something in her chest pulsed outward in an invisible wave at her will.

The monster’s form became crystal clear in her “sight.”

“Watch out! On the right!”

Qinghai Starlight shouted suddenly.

Lu Yushan, as if she had anticipated it, swung her staff toward the right.

Boom—

The instant the staff connected with the head, a massive crash rang out. 

The monster was sent flying, spinning twice in the air before it crashed to the ground.

Lu Yushan immediately gave chase, giving the creature no chance to recover.

Hunter and prey—the situation had reversed in a heartbeat.

The monster panicked at once.

Ambush first, wear them down, then finish them off. That had always been its method.

But now, the strength and darkness it took such pride in looked like a joke in front of that red-haired monster.

The creature decided to flee. Before it did, however, it refused to take this beating for nothing.

Its gaze shifted to Qinghai Starlight, who sat slumped in the distance. Its dazed eyes gradually turned vicious.

At least it would take a bite out of the prey already in its mouth!

The monster’s body suddenly shrank back. 

Using the cover of darkness, it charged straight toward Qinghai Starlight.

Damn it, lost the signal…

Lu Yushan’s radar lost track for a moment.

Still…

The tip of Lu Yushan’s nose twitched. 

The unique metallic scent of the monster’s blood drifted into her nostrils.

A familiar smell.

Lu Yushan’s eyes sharpened. The floor beneath her feet shattered instantly.

Clang—

The scene repeated itself. This time, however, it was not a block—it was an attack.

The magic staff, glowing with flowing light, smashed hard into empty air. 

A massive wolf head was forced into view and slammed viciously into the ground.

Boom!

The tremendous impact cracked the concrete floor into a spiderweb. Shards of stone flew everywhere.

The surrounding darkness rapidly dissipated. 

The old emergency lights began flickering rapidly. 

Their dim glow illuminated the monster’s convulsing body.

“Thank… thank you.”

Qinghai Starlight spoke weakly. She had never imagined Lu Yushan’s strength could be this overwhelming.

If she had looked up at Lu Yushan, she would have seen those pale-red magic power-covered eyes—sharp and ice-cold. 

The girl’s mind was completely immersed in battle, paying no attention to anything else.

Therefore Lu Yushan did not reply. She only frowned slightly, fingers rubbing along the staff.

The feel is wrong.

At her thought, the monster’s body in front of her rapidly dissolved like smoke.

Lu Yushan whipped her head toward the entrance—the only exit.

She was just about to rush over when a fierce gust of wind whipped up inside the sealed underground space without warning. 

It made Lu Yushan’s cloak flap loudly.

The wind was extremely eerie and carried an overwhelming pressure that was almost impossible to resist.

At the same time, a figure appeared at the entrance. More precisely, it was a girl wearing black stockings and a high-cut bunny girl outfit.

Even in her current state, Lu Yushan hesitated for a split second.

“No need to rush off.”

The girl’s voice carried a lazy drawl. She raised her hand and swung it downward.

It felt as if an invisible mountain had crashed down from the air.

Crack——crack crack crack crack crack!!

“Ugh——”

Beside the bunny girl, the monster was forced to materialize. 

The Beta-class creature that had given even Lu Yushan some trouble was now unable to let out a single scream.

Every bone in its body produced a string of bean-like cracking sounds. 

Its massive frame was violently pinned and crushed by the savage atmospheric pressure.

The next instant.

Bang—!

It disintegrated.

Instant kill.

The bunny girl paid no mind to the blood splatter that had landed on her cheek. 

She waved casually in Lu Yushan’s direction. 

The rabbit ears on her head twitched twice with the motion.

“Hey!!! Are you alive?! Is Qinghai still alive?!”
