“Little White, Silver Fang and Princess are both dead…”
“No choice… Silver Fang died to save us, but Princess was just too low-level, with barely any agility points.”
After entering the ruins’ gate, Bai Yue Ling had no time to mourn Silver Fang and Princess’s deaths… Well, okay, there wasn’t much to mourn—it’s just a game, not like they’re really gone.
Bai Yue Ling ran, panting heavily, the weighty sway of her chest draining her stamina fast. She scanned the surroundings, searching for a place to hide.
Before her sprawled a desolate, ruined city, as if scorched by flames, devoid of any signs of life.
Seeing the Slime Queen wasn’t chasing immediately, they slipped into a dilapidated house to rest for a moment.
Ying Ye leaned against the wall, breathing deeply, her ample hips pressing against the cold, hard stone, sweat soaking through her thin Ninja Outfit, leaving two faint oval marks on the wall.
“Little White, what do we do now?” Ying Ye asked softly.
“We definitely can’t fight, but we might be able to stall for time.”
“How do we stall?”
“I found some help.”
Bai Yue Ling crouched, her soft, shapely rear slightly pressed by her ankles, a white sigil glowing faintly on the ground in the dark underworld.
She touched the sigil gently, and a system prompt sounded.
[Would you like to summon the spirit “Dragonblood Knight Kavi”?]
Bai Yue Ling didn’t hesitate. “Summon!”
Mana poured into the sigil, accompanied by a faint HUM, as a woman in heavy armor wielding a greatsword rose slowly from it.
[Name: Kavi (Spirit)]
[Race: Unknown]
[Level: 50]
[Class: Dragonblood Knight]
[Description: A female knight from the deep desert, famed for slaying a red dragon single-handedly at 24 and bathing in its blood, gaining some of the dragon’s powers. An accident once swept her into the depths of a sand vortex, and when she opened her eyes, she found herself in an ancient ruin. To prevent others from getting lost as she did, she left a sigil marker.]
[Note: A spirit’s strength is slightly weaker than its original body, but it’s still formidable.]
Kavi, in her pure white spirit form, had a long plume on her helmet. She waved in greeting to Bai Yue Ling before standing motionless.
Ying Ye jumped at the sudden appearance, then studied Kavi curiously, trying to talk, but got no response.
“This is the person who carved that sigil,” Bai Yue Ling explained. “The White Waxstone Sigil records the user’s state and stores it as a spirit, which anyone who finds it can summon to aid in battle.”
“A spirit? So her real body isn’t here?” Ying Ye asked, puzzled.
“Right, a spirit is just a fragment of the user’s will, only capable of simple commands, not conversation,” Bai Yue Ling said. “The real Dragonblood Knight probably died long ago. This sigil could be hundreds, even thousands of years old.”
“A will from thousands of years ago, crossing time to aid us now…” Ying Ye sighed. “Isn’t that romantic?”
Bai Yue Ling stood before Kavi’s spirit, getting straight to the point. “Do you know how to leave this ruin? If you do, lead the way.”
Kavi didn’t move, showing no response.
“Okay, you probably hadn’t escaped when you left the sigil… Can you defeat a level 50 Slime Queen?”
Kavi still didn’t react. They’d have to fight to find out.
Truthfully, Bai Yue Ling knew that while both were level 50, Kavi’s spirit form was weaker and likely couldn’t beat the Slime Queen.
One level 50 spirit isn’t enough. We’re still missing something.
Leaning against the wall, Bai Yue Ling propped up her ample, soft chest, her shapely, snow-white legs crossed, lost in thought.
Then it hit her—someone had been slacking off.
“Dark Lisa, where are you? Speak up!” Bai Yue Ling shouted in her mind.
“What’s up?” Dark Lisa’s voice was languid. “It’s just a Slime. You need my help for that?”
“She’s not just any Slime—she’s the Slime Queen!”
“Then you’ve got nothing to worry about. You’re an Otherworld Traveler. Just off yourself and respawn in the city.”
“Respawning’s the safest bet, sure, but Dark Lisa…” Bai Yue Ling’s mental voice softened, seductive as a succubus. Don’t you want to try corrupting the queen of an entire race?
Dark Lisa fell silent, clearly stirred.
Bai Yue Ling pressed on. Corrupting the Slime Queen is like corrupting the entire Slime race. It’s the same as corrupting a human king.
You want to corrupt the whole world, right? This is our first step. Her voice was a devil’s whisper. Dye every Slime in our Dark Fall colors.
“…”
“Hmph… since when do you lecture me?” Dark Lisa scoffed dismissively. “You think I haven’t considered this? I was quiet because I’ve been calculating the odds of corrupting her.”
Bai Yue Ling was surprised. “I thought you’d be brimming with confidence.”
“No, I’m not like you. I can tell that Slime Queen isn’t ordinary,” Dark Lisa said gravely. “She’s weakened from her slumber now, but at her peak, she was at least level 90.”
“N-Ninety?!” Bai Yue Ling blurted out. She was that powerful?
Ignoring her shock, Dark Lisa continued. “Defeating and corrupting her isn’t impossible, but it’ll cost me—I’ll have to go dormant for a while.”
Bai Yue Ling asked, “How do we do it?”
Dark Lisa said coolly, “First, I need someone fully corrupted—someone with a Dark Fall value of 100%.”
“100%…” Bai Yue Ling glanced at Ying Ye, circling Kavi’s spirit. The highest I’ve got is Ying Ye at 79%.
“Then push it to 80%.”
“How?”
“Don’t you still have Fallen Heaven Mark?”
“Right, I haven’t used it on her yet.”
Bai Yue Ling channeled her mana, aiming at Ying Ye and firing a BIU of magic.
[You have successfully applied Fallen Heaven Mark to player “Ying Ye,” increasing Dark Fall value by 1%.]
[Due to “Ying Ye” reaching 80% Dark Fall, a new quest has been triggered.]
…
After the quest triggered, Bai Yue Ling stared at the quest description, silent for a long time.
She mulled it over, wrestling with her thoughts, recalling her past life.
Finally, urged by Dark Lisa, Bai Yue Ling gritted her silver teeth, resolute.
“Ying Ye…”
Ying Ye turned instinctively, gazing at the youthful, slightly shy girl before her. “What’s up?”
Bai Yue Ling took a deep breath, gently grasping Ying Ye’s hands—
“Let’s have some fun.”
