- Shocking events have been confirmed as the truth.
- At approximately 15:30 today, the entire group responsible for committed atrocious acts against children was apprehended.
- The twenty safely rescued children are currently under protection at the Disaster Agency….
- Delivery Man Hunter Lee Hyunbin has done it again. Thanks to his proactive initial measures, the group behind the illegal Mana Stone Procedures was caught in its entirety and is currently under investigation….
- Formal petitions to increase the number of Special Guards like Hunter Lee Hyunbin have already surpassed 100,000 signatures.
⨽ The Delivery Man has seriously made it big.
⨽ For real, lol.
⨽ Honestly, people like him deserve to have power.
⨽ But what is that Lucky Boy bastard doing? He has the same special authority.
⨽ What else? He’s probably out drinking somewhere.
⨽ Having the ability of flight is seriously a cheat code, but the guy just won’t work.
While there were occasional news reports about child abuse by nursery teachers, a crime this heinous was unprecedented.
Every media outlet was practically plastered with news regarding illegal Magic Stones.
Whenever you turned on the TV, people were talking about what happens when you undergo an illegal Mana Stone Procedure and the consequences that follow.
Those who contracted Magestone Disease had to be hospitalized for life to undergo procedures to filter out the Magic Stones.
The hospital costs, which were worse than chemotherapy, could easily destroy a whole family.
Even insurance companies refused to include Magestone Disease in their coverage.
An incurable disease.
There was no way to treat the children who had been subjected to the illegal Mana Stone Procedure.
The Magic Stones implanted in their hearts would undergo mutations at every moment, spreading throughout their entire bodies.
In other words, they were in a state of forced Awakening.
The illegal Magic Stone gang was currently being interrogated by the Disaster Agency regarding the details of the incident.
Why they did such a thing. What their purpose was.
However, the gangsters and Villains involved in this work had only lent their strength; they did not know the detailed circumstances.
The only one who might know something was the Chairman.
However, the Chairman was flatly denying everything, claiming he knew nothing. Thanks to that, the true nature and scale of this organization had not yet been accurately confirmed.
Clack, clack.
A man walked down the marble corridor.
Seeing him, the Agency’s Guarder stopped him at the Entrance to verify his identity.
The man, who had looks as handsome as a statue, laughed heartily and revealed his name.
“I am the Hanul Guild Union Chief, Im Jaejoon.”
Waiting for Im Jaejoon after he passed the Entrance security was the Director’s secretary, Minjung Kim—no, Olivier.
“All preparations are finished.”
“Good.”
The reason Im Jaejoon visited the Agency under Olivier’s guidance was because of the Chairman of the One Mind Foundation.
The Chairman was being held under strict guard, but no one stopped Im Jaejoon and Minjung Kim.
“Ah, I’m telling you, I don’t know anything. You’re framed an innocent man!”
The Chairman, held in the Agency’s Interrogation Room, was busy making excuses.
“It’s not like my foundation manages only one orphanage. No, I’m telling you, search everything! There’s nothing, nothing at all. How was I supposed to know those damn bastards were doing that crap in an orphanage I manage? Huh?”
The Chairman, whose face had turned as red as a jujube, actually shouted louder.
“That Delivery Man or Lee Hyunbin or whoever. That bastard hit me! Without any reason? Fuck, no matter how nice of a person I am. I’m going to sue that bastard, so call my lawyer! Ow, ow, my neck.”
The Chairman grabbed the back of his neck, complaining of pain.
The investigator watching him bit his lip in disbelief and glared at him.
Just then, Im Jaejoon entered the Interrogation Room. The investigator’s face brightened upon seeing him as he stood up from his seat.
“You’re working hard.”
“You’ve arrived? You didn’t need to bother dealing with a person like this yourself.”
“What? What did you just say?”
Seeing the Chairman immediately flare up in anger, the investigator frowned and stood up.
“You bastard, I’m suing you too. You hear me? Huh?”
After making that threat, the Chairman looked at Im Jaejoon, his lips twitching as he asked.
“Uh, who might you be? Ah, Hanul. You’re from that place, right?”
“Hello. I am Im Jaejoon from Hanul Guild.”
“Your Hunter mercilessly assaulted me. Do you know that? Huh? I almost died!”
“Hmm….”
Im Jaejoon sat across from the Chairman and watched him with his fingers interlaced.
“If that friend of mine had mercilessly assaulted you, it wouldn’t have ended with just this much.”
“What? This, you’re saying it’s ‘just this much’ now? This Union Chief has no basic manners! Just because your Guild’s image improved a bit lately, I guess you’ve decided to just act out. Let’s see how this goes. I’ll drag you into the mud with me.”
The corners of Im Jaejoon’s mouth turned up as he watched the Chairman start his threats again.
“Are you laughing?”
The Chairman’s eyebrows quivered when he saw Im Jaejoon smiling.
In response, Im Jaejoon covered his microphone with his hand. Then, he leaned his face forward, bringing it close to the Chairman.
“My reason for coming here today isn’t for a settlement or persuasion.”
“Then get lost.”
“Even for a lowlife, there are limits to what you can do.”
Im Jaejoon’s smile began to grow deeper.
“It is fine for someone prepared for a fight to die. But using children who have no intention of fighting—no, who can’t even make a choice—is definitely crossing the line.”
“Is this bastard crazy?”
“You’re the one who’s crazy.”
Im Jaejoon was the Demon King who had dyed the Continent in fear.
The reason he led his army and began the war against the Seven Kingdoms was simple.
It was to save the Demon Race who were being persecuted and abused.
“If you were going to commit evil, you should have at least been prepared to get your own hands dirty.”
Im Jaejoon had jumped into the front lines himself.
He became the guardian and savior of the Demon Race.
Furthermore, he proclaimed himself King and gathered the humans and others who were being unfairly persecuted to create a land where they could live.
“A guy like you, who doesn’t even dirty his own hands and just commits evil from behind as a bystander, isn’t a villain—you’re just a lowlife.”
“W-What is this jerk talking about? Hey, you Disaster Agency bastards! What are you doing?”
“It’s no use,” Im Jaejoon muttered coldly. “Your voice won’t be heard over there.”
“What?”
In that moment, the Chairman felt a chilling cold.
Something was wrong.
The Chairman doubted his own eyes.
Im Jaejoon’s eyes had changed into vertical pupils, like those of a snake.
Like a frog standing before a predator, the Chairman’s lips began to tremble.
“You said you were innocent, right? Let’s see if that’s true.”
Im Jaejoon snapped his fingers.
“From now on, you will learn the meaning of responsibility and duty.”
“…!”
The Chairman looked around.
Something pitch black began to crawl up from the floor.
No, from the walls and the ceiling as well.
Small, sticky hands stroked the Chairman’s cheeks and grabbed his legs.
It was a gruesome sensation.
“The ones you killed will be with you forever from now on.”
Im Jaejoon smiled gently.
“For the rest of your life.”
“Aaagh! Aaaaaargh!”
The horrific children pouring from the surroundings swarmed him like a horde of Zombies and began to eat him.
They tore off his fingers to share among themselves and ripped his lips to crush them on the floor.
“I-I’ll talk!” the Chairman screamed. “I’ll tell you e-everything! S-So please…!”
He didn’t know what this was. But they were truly biting and tearing at his body. Their whispering voices stimulated his ears.
Even if he covered his ears or closed his eyes, their whispering never stopped.
“N-North Han Mountain. Th-There! No, I’ll tell you everything. Where the headquarters and branches are!”
Hearing his words, Im Jaejoon tilted his head.
“No, that’s fine.”
Im Jaejoon stood up as if his business was already finished.
“Because I’ve already heard it.”
“What? Huh?” the Chairman muttered, confused by what he meant.
Im Jaejoon left the waiting area as if he really had no interest. Soon, the lights in the Interrogation Room went out, and the pitch-black corpses began to greedily tear into the Chairman.
“Aaaaaaaaagh!”
The Chairman screamed, but Im Jaejoon did not look back.
“Are you finished already?”
“Yes. It seems we’ve reached a mutual agreement.”
Im Jaejoon flashed a gentle smile at the investigator.
The investigator saw the Chairman left alone in the Interrogation Room, sitting blankly and drooling.
“What’s with him? Why is he acting like that now?”
Leaving behind the grumbling investigator, Im Jaejoon and Olivier left the area.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen that power.”
At Olivier’s words, Im Jaejoon laughed self-deprecatingly.
“Contact the Hero. Tell him the location has been secured.”
“Wahahaha, Beary is so bad at this!”
“Our bears only have two fingers, so we’re not good at this kind of thing, okay?”
“I’m good at it even using just two fingers.”
Beary and the children were playing by putting puzzle pieces together.
“Hmph, Beary is weally bad at this.”
“Beary is better at other things than this.”
“What kind of things?”
“Well, that would be…”
Beary’s eyes twinkled.
“Eating you up!”
“Wahahaha! Run away!”
The young children, chased by the bear, rolled and tumbled on the thick mats.
The place where the children who had undergone the Magic Stone procedure stayed was the Agency’s playroom.
Some children played with dolls, while others went down the slide, laughing hysterically.
For the first time in their lives, they saw so many dolls and toys, and they watched children’s Broadcasts played just for them.
From meals to sleeping, professional teachers were looking after them with all their heart and soul.
“Everyone, it’s time for lunch!”
“Food! Wow!”
At the mention of food, the children rushed as if they were about to pounce on the teachers who brought the meal trays.
The continuous clatter of meal trays could be heard as they ate.
“I’m dying….”
“That’s why I told you to build up some Stamina.”
“I did build up my Stamina….”
“The Stamina you build up comes from the power of rice.”
Karin pouted at Beary’s scolding.
Looking at the exhausted Karin, Beary asked, “How is it?”
“….”
Karin shook her head at Beary’s words.
“It’s too late. The kidneys already aren’t functioning properly. If we remove the Magic Stones, they’ll probably….”
Die.
Karin couldn’t bring herself to say those words.
“I see. Then is there any other way?”
At Beary’s question, Karin shook her head once more.
There was no way.
Right now, the children here were eating their fill for the first time, running around to their heart’s content, and enjoying freedom.
Without even knowing that this freedom would not last very long.
“Yeah. Sorry for asking you for something like this.”
Beary stroked Karin’s head.
He wasn’t feeling pleasant himself, and it must have been even worse for the young Karin.
“If you’re sorry, put some serious mileage on my Check Card. I ran out of money and couldn’t order Chicken last night.”
“I think if you ordered one instead of five, you would have had more than enough to eat.”
Karin pressed her head against Beary’s chest and shook it like a rotating drill.
“Whew, Coach. Don’t you know you have to order at least one seasoned and one fried when you eat Chicken? And while eating those, you start wanting the soy sauce flavor too. Uh, then after eating that, you start wanting something spicy.”
“No appetite goes without an excuse. You’re quite something.”
Muttering that, Beary replied that he would recharge her Check Card later.
Hearing that, Karin laughed, seemingly in a good mood again.
The Villain gang had implanted Magic Stones in these children and conducted special experiments.
The Villains’ purpose.
It was to carry out terror attacks against the Agency that was pressuring them.
By injecting a certain amount of Magic Power into the Magic Stones, they could be detonated remotely.
In other words, they were very convenient time bombs.
Of course, there was no such justification as the human rights or freedom of the Villains.
‘Purely for profit.’
Their first target was the Agency. But all subsequent targets were banks.
In other words, they planned to first paralyze the Agency that would interfere with them and then rob banks to their heart’s content.
They were beyond insane.
Beary, or rather Lee Hyunbin, thought of the enemy from the other world.
The Demon King.
That guy was definitely ‘evil’ to him. But the Demon King, at least, picked up his sword to protect something.
But these guys held innocent lives hostage solely for their own convenience or interests.
He could never forgive people like this.
Ring.
Lee Hyunbin answered the phone.
- All of the Villain gang’s hideouts have been secured.
“I see.”
There is Trash in every world. And cleaning up that Trash is a duty to be performed by those with power.
“Tell everyone to gather.”
It was a Villain War.
