The holy nun lightly tapped her fingertip against her lip, but there wasn’t a hint of seduction in the gesture; it only carried the raw cuteness and innocence of a young girl.
However, as Anlis’s gaze swept over her, she could clearly see a faint, unhidden bite mark on the other girl’s neck.
Lowering her eyes, she could even catch a glimpse of oily black fabric peeking through the slit of the nun’s habit.
Spandex! It was a body-con fit!
She couldn’t even see the outline of panties!
Her gaze lingered involuntarily as images from last night flashed through her mind. Even though the effects of the curse had faded, the lingering sensations and sounds were still etched into her memory, stirring shameful, strange thoughts within her.
‘Ugh! No, no, no!’
She, Anlis, was a red-blooded straight woman. She liked tall, mighty, handsome knights. How could she possibly be interested in an undeveloped little girl like this?
It had to be the residual effects of the curse. That curse was truly vicious. To think someone called it a minor curse that only slightly amplified desire. Anyone who believed that was a total idiot. That Corrupt Monarch really had no shame!
“You’re not wearing anything under that?”
The thought had barely crossed her mind before the words escaped her lips.
Vylian froze, not immediately catching her meaning. She looked down blankly at the slit in her habit, and the moment she realized, her expression shifted.
“I actually prefer boxers, so they aren’t very visible. My, I didn’t expect Miss Vylian to be looking there. As expected…”
Anlis had intended to take a closer look to verify if she was telling the truth, only to be met with Vylian’s look of utter disgust.
“As expected, do you actually like girls, Miss Anlis? I thought last night only happened because of the curse.”
“Huh?”
Anlis watched as the girl abruptly took two steps back, warily covering any part of herself that might be exposed. She looked exactly like someone guarding against a ravenous wolf.
“So last night was actually your true nature? I never imagined I’d be such a great temptation~”
This was a total humiliation!!
Anlis was about to lose it! Who would find such an underdeveloped brat tempting? She was being slandered! Forget the fact that Anlis was straight; even if she were a man, she wouldn’t be interested in a girl like this!
Anlis felt her vision go dark as she stared at Vylian again. The girl looked wary and serious, but Anlis inexplicably saw a phantom image of the mocking face she’d worn during last night’s ambush when she called her “small fry.”
This was definitely revenge for Anlis badmouthing the Corrupt Monarch just now!
Anlis lunged back into bed and pulled the covers over her head, wishing she could disappear on the spot. Then, a second later, she felt a tug on the blanket.
“Miss Hero, it’s time to get up.”
“I want to sleep more. I’m still a bit sore.”
“Uh…”
Vylian’s hand loosened on the blanket. Although Anlis had said it subconsciously without any ulterior meaning, why did it sound so strange?
“I made breakfast. Aren’t you going to eat?”
Vylian always had a habit of cooking. The food in this world didn’t suit her taste, and since she was bored out of her mind, she had gone out this morning to buy ingredients. She’d spent a good while clattering around on a small footstool to get things ready.
Anlis swallowed hard. She was indeed starving, and remembering last night’s chicken soup, she had to admit the Demon King’s culinary skills were absurdly good. But one bowl of soup didn’t prove everything; maybe she could only make soup.
Anlis poked her head out. “Please turn around. My clothes are a mess.”
Vylian didn’t argue and compliantly turned her back.
Anlis quickly tidied her clothes, hopped out of bed, and walked to the dining table. She had expected some kind of evil “dark cuisine,” but it was actually incredibly exquisite. Taking a bite, the fresh, savory flavor exploded on her tongue. It was amazing.
If she could make soup that delicious, her other dishes naturally wouldn’t be bad either. Though she hated to admit it, this was truly the best meal Anlis had ever eaten.
During the meal, she quietly opened her personal panel:
Name: Anlis Kachi
LV: 25
Class: Hero
When she woke up this morning, aside from the physical soreness, she clearly noticed that her power had grown significantly. However, she carefully suppressed her aura, showing no signs of the change.
Her level had jumped too much. She was Level 4 last night, but this morning she was already Level 25.
Becoming stronger didn’t happen for no reason. The only thing she could think of was that ridiculous incident last night.
‘So… you get stronger by doing “that”?’
But how was that any different from a succubus! She couldn’t feel happy about this at all.
‘Ugh, okay, I absolutely cannot let the Corrupt Monarch find out about this.’
“Miss Anlis, I’ve been thinking, and I would still like to join your party.”
While Anlis was lost in thought, Vylian’s soft voice sounded in her ear again.
“I like girls, you know. Aren’t you afraid I’ll attack you again?”
This was, of course, a self-deprecating remark—a completely toothless protest using Vylian’s own teasing against her.
“But weren’t you cursed by the Corrupt Monarch? To help the Hero proceed smoothly, as a Nun of the Sacred Church, I am willing to make a sacrifice… but I ask that the Hero please restrain herself.”
It was all just a string of excuses, and Anlis knew it. The Corrupt Monarch, Vylian, only wanted to monitor her from up close. Though she didn’t know the exact goal, she clearly didn’t have the power to refuse.
She could only go along with it, saying somewhat dejectedly, “Fine, fine. After all, you are my woman now.”
Vylian’s cheeks instantly flushed crimson, and her gaze toward Anlis became incredibly complex. She clenched her fists, forcing down the urge to throw a punch. She couldn’t tell if this woman was doing it on purpose or if she was just brainless.
What did she mean by “my woman”? The Hero was such a creep.
“Didn’t we agree that would be a secret between us? How can you say that?”
Anlis was just talking big. As she bit into her breakfast, she caught sight of Vylian’s flushed face and paused.
‘Oh?’
The corners of her mouth curled up slightly.
“But didn’t you say you wanted me to take responsibility? Your breakfast is so good; you’re definitely suited for a motherly role. If I married you, life would certainly be very rich.”
Vylian still wore a gentle smile, but a vein was actually throbbing on her forehead.
“Heh… is that so?”
What was with these lines? She was a female Hero, so why did she sound like a lecherous old man? She was getting way too full of herself!
‘Endure it. Endure it.’
She couldn’t endure it at all.
Vylian lunged out and kicked the stool Anlis was sitting on. With a loud clatter, Anlis lost her balance and fell hard onto her backside.
“Ow!”
“Oh my, I’m so sorry~” Vylian tilted her head, an innocent smile on her face, though there wasn’t a hint of apology in her eyes. “I wanted to pour you some water and accidentally kicked the stool. I really am quite clumsy. The Hero wouldn’t blame me, would she?”
Anlis opened her mouth, but nothing came out.
‘Tsk, this girl definitely did that on purpose!’
She really couldn’t take a joke.
