(I’ve been busy with some family matters and only able to do one chapter recently. My apologies!)
“Looks like this guy is the boss of this stage…” Elia observed the giant creature in the center of the tornado, murmuring.
“Who cares what it is! Let’s beat it to death first!” Vian threw five blood-red orbs at the tornado… but the skill was absorbed by the tornado.
Vian refused to accept this and threw a few more spells, but every single one became nourishment for the tornado. And indeed, it was nourishment, because after devouring her skills, the tornado grew even larger.
The tornado raged wildly, and even Kiz’s magic was about to give out… If this magic disappeared, they would definitely be swept into the tornado and torn into pieces.
So Elia deployed a Holy Light Barrier to add another layer of insurance.
“Hmm… From what I can deduce, we have to enter the eye of the wind to attack that thing, but if we force our way in, we’ll definitely be shredded. If we can temporarily weaken the wind wall, maybe there’s a chance.” Lisa analyzed softly.
“So how do we weaken it?” Vian asked.
Lisa thought carefully.
Element… Element… So what can counter the wind attribute? Wait! That’s it! Fire attribute! Fire can counter wind!
Then Lisa immediately patted Vian on the shoulder and asked, “Vian, use your strongest fire magic to attack the wind wall.”
“Huh? So in this world, wind attribute is countered by fire?” Elia watched with a bewildered expression.
Vian blinked and said, “Okay, I’ll try.”
[Ninth Step: Blazing Dragon Execution]
In an instant, she shot into the sky, her whole body ablaze with a sea of flames, and a fire burned in her eyes. Then she extended her right palm and pushed forward, and the surrounding flames quickly gathered into one fire dragon after another.
Dozens of these fire dragons all crashed into the tornado’s wind wall, causing one earth-shattering explosion after another. Each explosion even spread extremely powerful fire elements… This caused a ripple in the wind wall.
“This is working! Keep going!” Elia shouted.
She could only cheer them on from the sidelines. She had already said she couldn’t use any magic other than Holy Light. If Holy Light weren’t so useful in most situations, Elia would have become a useless fighter.
Of course, Little Princess Kiz was similar; she could only use dark attribute flames… and that didn’t count as fire element.
Vian gritted her teeth and continuously released flames, while Lisa also helped her.
Under their continuous attacks, the fluctuations in the wind wall grew more and more intense.
Finally, a gap appeared in the wind wall, so Lisa hurriedly shouted, “Now! Charge in! Remember to protect yourselves with magic!”
Elia charged into the gap first, and immediately she felt intense pain… wind blades were constantly attacking them.
Kiz’s magic and her barrier could only withstand the damage from the tornado itself; they were powerless against these wind blades.
The four of them had to endure the pain as they crossed the wind wall and entered the eye of the wind.
By now, the four were covered in cuts and bleeding profusely… The three Blood Clan members healed themselves with their super regenerative abilities, while Elia cast a few Healing Magic spells on herself.
Wounds healed, now it was time to face this turtle boss.
But… holy crap, inside this tornado there was such a vast, strange space… It looked like quite a luxurious hall.
Furthermore, in the center of the hall stood a giant, formed from raging winds, with four transparent wings on its back.
As soon as it saw them, the giant raised its massive arm, and then a giant wind blade shot from its hand, much stronger than the ones outside.
Elia raised a Holy Light Shield to block that wind blade.
However, the giant’s attacks didn’t stop; it kept releasing wind blades from there.
[Eighth Step: Divine Bulwark]
Then, Elia directly cast this spell. Her Holy Light Shield instantly expanded dozens of times, even covering half the hall.
As soon as this spell was cast, all the wind blades and various messy wind attribute magic released by the giant were blocked outside.
“Our own magic won’t be blocked by this barrier. Now’s the chance! Attack it with your highest damage skills! Fire attribute is best!” Elia shouted.
[Tenth Step: Holy Light Judgment]
[Ninth Step: Blood Demon Final Slash]
[Ninth Step: Shadow Rupture]
[Ninth Step: Flame Essence Demon Slash]
As the four poured all their magic onto the giant, its body began to rapidly disintegrate, until it dissipated into a gentle breeze.
Then, the hall also collapsed, and the four fell back onto the ground.
In front of them stood a cyan crystal pillar, with a cyan gem sparkling inside it.
Elia walked up and took it, ending the Trial of Wind.
At that moment, Vian lay directly on the ground and said, “I-I-I can’t… I really can’t… Let me die for a while…”
Although Kiz was also exhausted, she still went over and kicked Vian, who was lying on the ground dying quietly, and said, “Get up. There’s still plenty more ahead.”
“I don’t want to continue…” Vian wailed.
“Don’t forget, you were the one crying and throwing a tantrum insisting on following us, so we reluctantly brought you along. We didn’t invite you from the start~” Lisa said with a smile, crouching beside her.
Vian instantly sat up from the ground, glaring at her, and said, “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you! And when did I cry and throw a tantrum? Come on, explain it to me!”
To that, Lisa smiled without a word.
“Let’s go. We’re about three stages away from completing the First Trial.” Elia said softly beside them… Her tone was very gentle.
“If you don’t come, we’ll leave you here,” Kiz said to her in an extremely stern and cold tone.
Afraid of being left in this damn place, Vian quickly stood up.
Then, the four pushed open the fifth door.
Behind the door was a darkness—literally unable to see your hand in front of your face. Even the Blood Clan’s Night Vision was ineffective here.
Elia released Holy Light to illuminate the surroundings.
But as soon as the Holy Light appeared, it was instantly swallowed by the darkness. So she gritted her teeth and said, “This is definitely a dark attribute trial, or I’ll bite Kiz’s fragrant neck and leave ten marks.”
“Hey! Elia!” Although Kiz was calling her name, there was actually a flicker of anticipation in her eyes! But Elia didn’t notice.
“We can’t see anything, how do we fight?” Vian asked with a frown.
However, as soon as she finished speaking, a rustling sound came from the darkness, as if something was approaching them.
“Watch out!”
Kiz swung her scythe toward the source of the sound… She seemed to have hit something… because she heard a scream, but it soon disappeared.
And then, more unknown enemies surged forward.
In the darkness, they couldn’t see the enemies, so they had to fight by sound and instinct, even facing attacks from all directions.
This blind battle lasted a long time. When Kiz killed the last one with her scythe, the surroundings fell silent.
“Is it over?” Vian asked quietly.
Lisa didn’t answer her. Instead, she suddenly turned around and stabbed her sword at Vian.
Seeing this, Vian’s eyes widened, and she instinctively tried to dodge.
But the sword grazed her face and stabbed something behind her, causing an extremely eerie scream.
Vian’s face turned pale from fright, and she protested, “Hey hey hey! If you’re going to hit something behind me, can you tell me first! You almost scared me to death!”
“Is that so? The strongest Prince of the Tzimisce Clan gets scared by something this small? Little me is truly shocked~” Lisa said with a sly grin.
“I (a flowery mess of curses)”
Elia ignored Vian’s beautiful language and just lowered her head to analyze… This can’t go on. They had to find a light source, or break this boundless darkness.
Wait! What is that? Why is there light over there?
She looked up into the depths of the darkness and saw a faint light dot. The problem was, a light dot suddenly appearing in this darkness was really strange! In any case, it definitely couldn’t be the exit. So what could it be? Was it a new type of monster?
“Look over there! There’s light over there!” But Elia still said loudly.
“Huh? This… this… okay, let’s go!” Kiz didn’t know what to say, so she just called for the other two, who were still arguing, to hurry up.
Then, the four walked toward that light dot.
However, none of them noticed that not far behind them, a person in a white robe was watching them… This guy lowered the hand he had originally raised.
Along the way, enemies constantly ambushed them, but Elia and the others had now adapted to the darkness and could counterattack in time each time.
Soon after, they reached the place where the light dot was. It turned out to be a small light orb floating in the air.
And below it stood a black crystal pillar containing a black gem.
But under the illumination of that small light orb, Elia clearly saw a giant black python coiled around the pillar.
“Alright, alright, time for another thrilling boss fight,” Elia said jokingly.
“Thrilling? How come I feel like each trial’s boss is much simpler than the previous ones?” Lisa retorted helplessly.
“This time will be even simpler, because this big worm is a dark elemental, and my Holy Light happens to counter it.” Elia stepped forward. “So I’ll be the main attacker this round, you just cover me!”
As soon as she finished, the giant snake lunged at them.
Elia raised her hand, turned her Holy Light into a light sword, and directly struck the snake. This made it writhe in pain, and black smoke rose from its body.
Just like the giant, the dark magic released by the black snake was almost entirely blocked by Elia’s shield, unable to harm them at all.
Next, Elia decided not to torment this little snake anymore. She directly spread a large golden magic circle behind her, preparing to deliver the final blow.
[Tenth Step: Divine Glory]
As her chant ended, the magic circle burst forth with intense and extremely dazzling Holy Light.
Under this Holy Light, the poor black snake, without even having time to struggle, turned into a pile of black ash and dissipated into the air.
This time it was a one-hit kill, resolved faster than any other boss.
Then Elia walked to the crystal pillar and took the black gem.
At that moment, the darkness instantly dissipated, and the surroundings became a bright space.
The sixth door was right ahead… On it was written: “Congratulations on clearing the Dark Trial. Next will be the final challenge of the Element Labyrinth. We wish you success in advancing and earning the qualification to enter the Second Trial.”
