After climbing out of the gaming pod, Bai Yue Ling clutched her head, feeling a wave of dizziness.
She had been immersed in the game for far too long, playing from yesterday afternoon straight through to noon today without a single bite of food, relying solely on the pod’s life-sustaining fluid for nutrition.
Every time she played for an extended period, she’d feel lightheaded, as if her soul had wandered too long before snapping back into her body.
Fortunately, the discomfort didn’t last long and would fade after a short rest.
“Ugh~ So hungry, but I don’t feel like cooking…”
Bai Yue Ling stretched lazily, letting out a satisfied moan as her curvaceous figure was fully displayed.
But the next moment, her movements froze, and her delicate brows furrowed slightly.
“Something… feels off?”
Squinting, she rubbed under her armpit, muttering, “My chest feels heavier again? No way it’s gotten bigger…”
Being a conspicuously busty girl was a real hassle.
Back at school, her excessive cuteness made her the class mascot.
Even delivering homework to the teacher’s office drew whispers from other instructors, and picking up takeout meant enduring curious stares from delivery women…
It was bad enough in real life, but in the game, it was worse. Getting ambushed on the street by mysterious older women who’d “cross her legs” was a real threat.
In short, Bai Yue Ling felt her curves were nothing but trouble, increasing her risk of being targeted for “leg-crossing” antics.
“Guess I’ll order takeout~”
“If only I were a flat-chested loli, maybe those older women wouldn’t bother me…”
Sighing, Bai Yue Ling squinted and hefted her chest, trying to gauge by feel if it really was heavier.
To her surprise, her hands didn’t meet soft flesh but something cool and sticky.
…Like Slime.
Almost exactly like…
Slime?
Bai Yue Ling looked down and gasped, eyes wide.
“WAAAAHHH!!!”
Two pale blue Slimes clung to her body like chest and skirt armor, wriggling with wet, squelching sounds.
“Slime… How are there Slimes in the real world?”
Instinctively, she tried to peel them off, but they slithered up her arms.
A cold, haughty voice rang out.
“Ignorant human, why the fuss?”
Bai Yue Ling froze. “You… You’re Jelly?”
“Hmph,” Jelly replied coolly.
“How… How are you here?”
“Tch, I should be asking you that,” Jelly said, sounding mildly surprised. “You suddenly vanished in a flash of white light, and somehow I got dragged along to this bizarre place.”
Bai Yue Ling’s lips parted, her shock overwhelming.
Why… Why would a Slime from World of Fate follow her into the real world? This was too surreal!
No wonder her butt didn’t ache when she got out of the pod—something had been cushioning her.
“What are you spacing out for? Explain this!” Jelly climbed to the top of her head, speaking imperiously. “What is this place? How did you teleport here? And why is my power reduced to Level 1?”
“Uh… Well…” Bai Yue Ling’s brain short-circuited, unsure how to respond.
Just then, a peculiar rhythmic knock came from the door.
That knock… It was Mu Yao, her neighbor, dropping by again.
Bai Yue Ling hurriedly set Jelly on the bed, slipped on a short skirt, and said, “No time to explain. Stay in the room and don’t come out.”
If anyone discovered a creature from World of Fate could cross into reality, the world would descend into chaos.
Jelly snorted, watching Bai Yue Ling close the door before turning to inspect the room.
Everything was alien to her: a strange coffin-like device capable of teleportation (the gaming pod), a glass bulb glowing with lightning-like energy (a lightbulb), and a scantily clad miniature doll (a figurine)…
Limited to Level 1 in reality, Jelly couldn’t transform into human form and could only slither like a Slime. She crawled onto the balcony, gazing out.
A vast river cut through the city, flanked by towering skyscrapers piercing the clouds, their grandeur surpassing any ancient ruins she’d seen. Strange metal contraptions (vehicles) zipped along the ground, and the city’s majesty was unlike anything in her experience.
“…Have I slept too long?” Jelly muttered, confused. “Why can’t I comprehend anything out there? But the city we saw after teleporting from the Underground Ocean seemed normal enough.”
As she pondered, a small head popped up at a window across the way.
A five-year-old girl pointed at the wriggling Jelly, shouting excitedly to someone inside.
“Tch, human kids are such a hassle… One day, I’ll lead my Slime army to conquer the world and make all humans slaves to the Slime race,” Jelly grumbled, hopping off the window and slithering back inside.
Crawling aimlessly, she accidentally nudged the computer mouse, and the idle screen lit up, startling her.
“Eek! Where’s that light coming from? No magical energy at all!” Jelly shrank back warily, then crept closer when the computer didn’t react.
The screen displayed the World of Fate forum, and her eyes were immediately drawn to the rows of text.
“Is this some kind of device? How do I use it? Hmm, seems like I control this rat-like thing…”
Wrapping herself around the girly pink mouse, Jelly began her first-ever internet surfing adventure.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Mu Yao, dressed in black socks and a white skirt, walked in carrying a large tray piled with steaming dishes.
“I’ve never cooked before, but I learned these from online videos. Try them, Zero-Zero!” Mu Yao said excitedly.
Bai Yue Ling stared at the table laden with extravagant dishes—Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, Nine-Turn Large Intestine, Braised Alligator Leg—and twitched her mouth.
“Who starts cooking with dishes like these? Shouldn’t you begin with something simple like scrambled eggs with tomatoes?”
Mu Yao tilted her head. “Huh? Is that how it works? I didn’t think there was much difference. These just took a bit longer to make.”
“A bit longer?”
Bai Yue Ling took a bite and was surprised to find that, despite being Mu Yao’s first attempt, the food was… actually pretty good?
Could this girl have a knack for cooking?
“Oh, by the way, Little White, I watched a new video about Priest Hero earlier,” Mu Yao said, chewing daintily, her clear, lively eyes fixed on Bai Yue Ling’s face. “I feel like… Zero-Zero, you kinda look like Priest Hero.”
