“Sir, your tickets for you and your girlfriend. Please take them.”
“Thank you.”
The title of girlfriend put Li Yang in an excellent mood.
An Ling, on the other hand, blushed all the way to her ears.
But outside she was a complete social wreck and didn’t dare poke her head out to refute it.
If she had known, she would have bought the tickets online.
But Li Yang had said they needed this kind of paper ticket for it to feel like an old-fashioned date.
“So expensive.” An Ling felt a little distressed.
Even though Li Yang was the one paying, she still felt distressed.
Li Yang’s money was still money.
An Ling remembered that when they went to amusement parks as kids it hadn’t been this expensive.
Back then she had dared to go in and play with Li Yang using that tiny bit of pocket money of hers.
Now she had more money in her hands, yet she felt a little like she couldn’t afford to play.
“Mm, it is a bit, but having fun is what matters most. The money’s already been paid, so to not waste it we have to have fun.”
“Li Yang has big principles too, huh.”
“Of course. Let’s go.” Li Yang naturally took the girl’s hand and headed for the entrance to have the tickets checked.
Holding hands and all that.
Thanks to Li Yang grabbing her hand for everything he did every day, An Ling had already been desensitized.
They had their tickets checked and entered the park.
This place had changed a lot.
It had been renovated in many ways.
An Ling could no longer recognize the paths inside.
“From here on I can only leave it to you, Mr. Li Navigation Yang.”
“No choice then. I’ll just have to kidnap you.”
Kidnap you back to my house.
“Alright, hurry up and enter navigation mode.”
“Then where do you want to go?” Li Yang asked.
In truth he wasn’t very familiar with the paths anymore either.
But he had the little map that came with the tickets.
An Ling had one too, of course.
But if she looked at it, wouldn’t Mr. Navigation become useless?
“Whatever. Just don’t play the little-kid rides,” she said.
“Whatever, huh?” Li Yang pretended to think for a moment. “Then the carousel. Little kids playing it is too childish. Big kids playing it is just right.”
“Besides, I remember when you were little you wanted to ride it but were afraid other people would say you were childish. You watched every time we passed it. Isn’t your age just right now?”
“That’s not it!” An Ling hurriedly denied it, her face faintly turning red. “I was just looking. Looking at the adults sitting on it and playing. It felt weird.”
“Then the roller coaster?” Li Yang pointed at the towering tracks in the distance.
An Ling lifted her head and glanced.
That roller coaster was at least ten-something stories high.
The tracks twisted and flipped.
Just looking at it made people’s legs go weak.
“That… there are a lot of people right now. We can ride it later when there are fewer.”
“Then the pirate ship?”
An Ling shook her head.
“The drop tower?”
An Ling shook her head even harder, her ears swinging along with it.
Li Yang looked at her like this and couldn’t help laughing.
Of course he knew An Ling was scared.
After all, she was the coward who had played whack-a-mole the moment they entered an amusement park as kids. “Then what do you actually want to ride? I still think the carousel would be good.”
“That’s not it! I’m not scared!” An Ling gritted her teeth.
The face she had maintained for years could not be lost today! “Then… then…”
An Ling weighed the pros and cons in her heart. “Then the roller coaster!”
“Ohhh! You actually chose a must-ride amusement park attraction?”
Li Yang looked at her.
This little creature whose tail was already trembling with fear but who still talked tough.
Looking at her like this had its own unique flavor too.
“Then let’s go.” Li Yang took her hand and walked toward the roller coaster.
An Ling followed behind him.
Her heartbeat had already started to speed up.
“It’s fine. I’ll sit next to you. Even if you fly out I can still catch you.”
“That kind of comfort is completely useless. Shouldn’t you say nothing will go wrong?”
“Is that so? I don’t think there’s any such thing as absolute safety, but if you hold my hand it’s definitely a lot safer.”
In the end they still lined up in the waiting queue.
After a few more groups came down it would be their turn.
“Aaaah—!”
The screams came from far to near, then from near to far, shaking An Ling’s ears until they unconsciously pressed back.
An Ling lifted her head and glanced up, just in time to see the roller coaster invert and plunge down from the highest point of the track.
The faces of that whole car of people were twisted.
Some people closed their eyes and forced themselves through it.
Some people opened their mouths wide and screamed.
Some laughed.
Some cried.
Some laughed while crying.
An Ling’s tail unconsciously curled up and wrapped around her own leg.
“It’s still not too late to regret it now.” Li Yang looked down at her, a smile hanging at the corner of his mouth. “We can go ride the carousel.”
“I don’t regret it!” An Ling talked tough. “I’m riding the roller coaster.”
“Alright then. This little one can only admire Lady An Ling’s courage. If you cry I’ll comfort you. Of course that means holding you in my arms.”
“Who’s going to cry?!” An Ling bristled in 0.1 seconds.
Li Yang looked at this dead-duck stubborn and bristling appearance of hers and couldn’t help laughing out loud.
The previous group came down.
The line slowly moved forward.
There were still two groups ahead before it would be their turn.
An Ling watched the people in front get on the roller coaster one after another.
Some were excited.
Some were nervous and scared just like her.
Some had been coaxed and tricked onto it by their companions.
One girl even started crying before she got on and was being half-held and half-coaxed by her boyfriend.
“Look at that girl.” Li Yang leaned in close to her ear and lowered his voice. “She’s scared just like you. Crying is fine too. I’d only think it’s cute and hold you while I comfort you.”
“I’m not scared at all!”
What a pity, Li Yang thought.
He rather wanted to hold An Ling in his arms and comfort her.
He would have to find a chance later.
Soon the line moved forward again.
An Ling looked at the couple in front.
The girl was very nervous and was being held and comforted by her boyfriend.
An Ling watched them and suddenly felt a little envious.
That girl could be openly scared in front of her boyfriend.
She could act spoiled.
She could ask for comfort.
If she cried a little, could she get that kind of treatment too?
But she and Li Yang weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend.
