Kaka was a strange little fairy who enjoyed measuring value through scores.
He digitized everything in the world and treated individuals differently based on the magnitude of their numbers.
However, Ryan knew that this was Kaka’s special ability.
He could see through the soul value of all things and quantify that value.
Furthermore, this ability could level up.
As Kaka’s strength evolved, he would eventually reach a point where he could see a target’s weaknesses at a glance.
In essence, the abilities he granted people—such as enhanced memory and stabilized knowledge—were merely extensions of this special power.
Kaka himself was unaware of the true nature of his power; he simply felt that he was somewhat special.
Later in the original story, Kaka provided a great deal of help to Rita through her fairy, Nunu.
But that was a story for another time.
Right now, Ryan believed the main difficulty was how to make a “score-slave” like Kaka follow him willingly.
He knew that in the game, Rita’s score in Kaka’s eyes was only thirty or so.
Relying on his little sister to persuade Kaka was basically impossible.
He also didn’t know how many points he was worth in Kaka’s eyes.
Ryan couldn’t wrap his head around the world as Kaka saw it, and he was even more clueless about how Kaka assigned scores.
He only hoped that he could leave a good impression and earn a decent score.
Thus, when Kaka turned to look at him, Ryan gave him a kind smile.
‘He smiled!’
‘He smiled at me!’
‘I have gained the recognition of a Great Being!’
Kaka was incredibly excited.
He never expected such an existence to be willing to show kindness to his humble self.
‘God loves the world!’
This phrase naturally surfaced in Kaka’s mind.
‘Those short-lived fools in white clothes who are obsessed with faith actually make a lot of damn sense!’
Without Ryan even needing to call him over, Kaka decisively abandoned his kin and rushed resolutely into the “embrace of God.”
At this moment, Kaka felt he had grasped the future!
“Most respected short— Lord of the Covenant, your arrival brings unparalleled glory to the Fairy Hall. I, Kaka, shall follow all the principles of the Six Covenants and remain at your beck and call.”
From Kaka’s voice, Ryan heard a bizarre sense of respect and admiration, even tinged with a hint of humility.
‘What’s going on?’
‘Was Kaka this much of a bootlicker in the original story?’
‘Is this really Master Kaka, who doesn’t even view those below thirty points as sentient beings and treats those below fifty as if they have no human rights?’
‘Don’t be like this, I’m a little scared!’
While Ryan felt flustered, he also keenly realized that Kaka’s attitude toward him was very problematic—it was too respectful.
His score must be quite good, at least over fifty.
Otherwise, Kaka couldn’t possibly be this respectful.
He even seemed more subservient than when he faced the Fairy King.
“Huh? Is this a fairy? So cute!”
At that moment, an untimely voice interrupted Ryan just as he was about to speak.
Rita had finally adjusted to the discomfort from the previous hug and began to curiously observe her surroundings.
She immediately noticed Kaka floating in front of them.
But to Kaka, that pleasant voice was incredibly grating.
‘Human!’
‘Why are you speaking!?’
‘Why are you interrupting my listening to Great Teachings?’
‘Oh… I see! You don’t want God to favor me. You don’t want me to serve God.’
‘You’re afraid I’ll steal your position as a Divine Attendant, aren’t you?’
‘The boss was right. These short-lived females really are all heartless vipers!’
‘This is simply detestable!’
‘You’re just a servant with only 32 Combat Power. Do you even have the right to speak here!?’
Kaka’s round body gradually began to swell and sharpen, looking like a bloated pufferfish.
However, Kaka’s anger was interpreted by Rita as acting cute.
She excitedly reached out her hand, seemingly intending to touch the fairy who was about to explode with rage.
Seeing this, Ryan’s heart nearly turned cold.
‘Can’t you see Kaka is about to blow a fuse? You still dare to tease him?’
‘If you tease him and then pat your butt and leave to sign a contract with Nunu, what am I supposed to do?’
In the nick of time, Ryan grabbed Rita’s wrist, his expression turning cold.
“Rita, this is not the time for your nonsense!”
Rita’s first reaction upon being grabbed was to frown.
She wanted to immediately shake off Ryan’s hand, but she found that he was holding her wrist tightly.
There was an added layer of seriousness in his gaze.
Only then did Rita remember the shouting of the fairies from earlier.
She understood that now was indeed not the time to continue arguing with Ryan, so she simply curled her lip and let him hold her wrist.
She might hate Ryan right now, but she wasn’t the type to be ruled by anger.
She wouldn’t act unreasonably; Rita could judge the priority of matters.
Indeed, now was not the time to communicate gently with the fairies and sign a contract.
“What is the Calamity? What will happen to the Fairy Hall after this? Will the fairies be in danger?”
Rita was good at getting to the point.
Her questions were exactly what Ryan was considering.
“Kaka, can you explain the current situation to us in detail? What are the characteristics of the Calamity that the Fairy King is fighting above the heavens?”
Compared to the confused Rita, Ryan’s train of thought was much clearer.
He needed to find out how critical the situation was before deciding whether to jump straight into the contract signing with Kaka.
Once Ryan spoke, Kaka immediately returned to his usual round, glowing form and replied respectfully:
“Respected Lord of the Covenant, about three Glows ago, our leader, the Fairy King, sensed an erosion of the Covenant rules from the outside world. You must know what it means for the Covenant to be eroded.”
“To ensure the purity of the Fairy Hall, we followed the boss to the top of the dome to see which Covenant had gone wrong.”
“Just then, the boss was enveloped in a dark green light. Immediately after, the boss declared that a Calamity was coming. He sent all of us who followed him out of the dome and then completely sealed it off.”
Recalling the situation at the time, Kaka added with lingering fear: “When I was thrown out, I saw the beginning of another set of numbers besides the boss’s. It was vaguely the number eight…”
Kaka’s explanation used localized fairy terms, leaving Rita completely bewildered.
However, based on his knowledge of the game, Ryan was barely able to piece together a narrative.
A “Glow” was a unit of time for fairies, equal to one hour.
Covenant erosion was easy to understand.
The six major Covenants between the Fairy King and humans were sworn by both races.
Erosion meant that another race was trying to interfere with the Covenant.
Inadvertently, Ryan thought of what Claude had told him—that his original family had once been involved in the artificial destruction of a Covenant with the Fairy King.
Was there a connection between that and the current invasion of the Fairy Hall by a Calamity?
The thought flashed by and vanished.
Ryan refocused his mind and continued to organize the information Kaka provided.
A dark green light had attacked the Fairy King, and Kaka inferred from the numbers he saw that the opponent’s strength was greater than the current Fairy King.
As fellow Calamity-class powerhouses, the Fairy King was worth about seventy points in Kaka’s eyes.
But this invading Calamity was a powerhouse Kaka rated at least eighty or higher.
Combined with the fact that the Fairy King had said “a Calamity is coming” rather than “a Calamity-class is coming,” it indicated this attack had nothing to do with the other three Elemental Kings.
Instead, one of the five Great Calamities had made a move, and this Calamity’s strength was more than a level higher than the Fairy King’s.
A dark green symbol…
A Calamity significantly stronger than the Fairy King…
Ryan had a vague impression of these two characteristics.
It seemed like a Calamity with a similar image had appeared in an early main plotline of the game.
However, perhaps due to the transmigration, every time Ryan tried to recall details related to the game’s plot, his memories became very fuzzy.
As expected, the most urgent task was to trick Kaka into signing the contract first.
