Lilith and Bai Lili waited outside the ancient castle’s main gate for a while before it slowly opened. A young woman in a maid’s uniform came out to greet them. She had neat, shoulder-length short hair and an icy, cold demeanor. Standing there like a block of ice with no expression, her meticulous appearance made Bai Lili somewhat nervous.
“You have arrived. My master has been waiting for you inside for quite some time.”
The maid’s icy, cold voice reached the ears of Bai Lili and Lilith.
Bai Lili and Lilith followed this maid into the ancient castle. The maid’s name was Qianmeng, and her master was Vivianna, the owner of this castle.
Qianmeng introduced the castle to Bai Lili and Lilith, narrating everything from the small paintings to the glorious history of this place.
This was Vivianna’s castle. The outer perimeter had a sea of bloody roses and a crimson forest. However, a sudden catastrophe directly transformed the outer crimson forest into its current state and also eliminated the vast majority of living creatures.
Then, for unknown reasons, this place was turned into a secret realm. Because of Lilith’s ability, or rather, her bloodline, she accidentally activated the restrictions here.
That’s why Vivianna directly captured Lilith. As for why Bai Lili was also captured, Qianmeng didn’t know. Speculating about her master’s thoughts was not something she should do.
After following Qianmeng around this Blood Clan ancient castle for a while, Bai Lili and Lilith finally met Vivianna. Vivianna had pure white silver hair. Her scarlet eyes were like the red moon hanging in the sky here.
They emitted a dangerous glow. A black lolita-style dress adorned her body, beautiful yet enchanting. Paired with those eyes, she was both captivating and perilous. Merely sitting on a chair on the castle balcony, she brought considerable pressure to Bai Lili and Lilith.
It was the fear of the weak towards the strong. Lilith suddenly felt that in front of Vivianna, she was like an ant that could be crushed to death with a casual pinch. She also realized that in the presence of a powerhouse, she was indeed pathetically and somewhat laughably weak.
Seeing that Bai Lili and Lilith had arrived, Vivianna stood up to welcome them.
“Welcome to the Blood Clan Ancient Castle.”
Vivianna opened her arms and embraced both Lilith and Bai Lili. Bai Lili still hadn’t forgotten about how to leave, so she asked,
“Miss Vivianna, um, how can we leave this place?”
Vivianna curled up a meaningful smile.
“That… depends on Lilith. Probably about a week.”
Vivianna looked at Lilith with a smile, while Lilith felt a bit creeped out by that gaze.
“What do you need me to do?”
Lilith looked at Vivianna warily. Vivianna didn’t mind and waved her hand, signaling Qianmeng to take Bai Lili down to stroll around the castle.
Bai Lili just stretched out her hand, paused mid-air for a moment, then withdrew it. ‘If Vivianna wanted their lives, she would have acted long ago. She didn’t need to wait until now. I also don’t have the ability to interfere with her.’ Thinking this, Bai Lili lowered her outstretched hands.
“Lilith, I’ll come find you when I have time.”
Bai Lili put her hands together and bowed apologetically to Lilith.
Lilith was just about to say something when Vivianna stopped her. After Bai Lili was taken away by Qianmeng, Lilith said somewhat irritably,
“So, what do you want me to do?”
Vivianna wore a slight smile.
“Of course, to make you my successor. But you must first pass several trials I have arranged.”
Lilith looked at Vivianna. She truly didn’t detect any malice from Vivianna. Moreover, the feeling Vivianna gave her was indeed that of a top-tier powerhouse. If she wanted to kill her, she wouldn’t need to go through such roundabout methods.
Seeing Lilith’s wary appearance, Vivianna thought for a moment and extended another olive branch.
“I can tell you like that little golden-furred fox. I must say, your taste is indeed good. If I didn’t already have someone I like, I’d probably be captivated at first glance too.”
Vivianna sat back down on the chair and said to Lilith,
“I can help you win her over. And you will gain power and more time to interact with her. How about it? Two birds with one stone.”
“Also, don’t pretend to be so innocent here. I’m quite clear about what our Blood Clan is really like.”
Seeing the other party like this, Lilith stopped acting. If she was a little ray of sunshine in front of Bai Lili, then the current Lilith was like a noble princess, with an unfathomable obsession in her expression.
“Tell me, how do you plan to help me win over Lili?”
Vivianna shook her index finger.
“Winning over is a strong word. But I can give you time alone with her. The rest is up to you.”
Lilith pondered for a moment. She didn’t like others interfering with her pursuits.
“Fine, I agree.”
Seeing Lilith agree, Vivianna turned to a mischievous smile.
“Then let’s begin.”
Vivianna murmured an unknown incantation. The first trial was the Trial of Knowledge. As a blue vortex appeared before them, Vivianna added,
“The theme of the first trial is knowledge. Rather than directly transmitting it into your brain, I think it’s better for you to learn it yourself.”
Lilith looked horrified.
“Hey, hey, you didn’t say anything about studying!”
Before Lilith could finish, Vivianna kicked her into the vortex. The kicked-in Lilith shouted,
“Vivianna, I hate you!”
Then Vivianna’s voice reached Lilith’s ears.
“Don’t worry. The time flow rate there is different from here. Study slowly. Once you’ve learned all the books there, you’ll naturally come out. Think of your fox girlfriend.”
And so, Lilith found herself muddle-headed in another place. It was a small library, with many books on each bookshelf. Looking at this scene, Lilith thought,
‘Do I have to study this many books? This isn’t right… No, for Lili, I’ll give it my all!’
Lilith randomly pulled out a book. It wasn’t about abilities but about races and bloodlines. Lilith spent about four hours digesting this book.
According to Lilith’s understanding, abilities shouldn’t actually be called abilities. It should be said that races and racial traits, when they reached her world, were called abilities.
Now Lilith roughly understood. That is to say, each person’s ability symbolized their own bloodline and race. The abilities of dual-ability users were divided into two categories because of racial traits.
But there was one person Lilith couldn’t figure out. She decided not to think about it. There was an old thing outside; she could just ask her. That would save her the trouble of thinking. Looking at the rows of books, Lilith felt a bit overwhelmed.
“How long will it take to read all of these?!!”
Lilith’s complaint echoed throughout the library.
