Regarding the fact that gods cannot be chosen and cannot be harmed, the Unified Divine Realm explains it as such.
The history books of the Kingdom of Aezera record the same.
There is no doubt.
Cecilia wore a saintess robe dress, mainly pure white, with intricate gold-thread embroidery on the hem and cuffs. In her hand, she held a scepter of the same color scheme, topped with a golden crystal that emitted a soft glow.
Yuna’s expression remained cold. She had put back on the silver armor exclusive to the Royal Knights, with the iconic knight’s longsword hanging at her waist.
Finally, Dorothy. Dorothy changed into a blue-and-white Western-style dress with layered skirts and a red bow tied at the collar. To hide the demon horns on her head, she wore a wide white round-top hat, making her look like a human noble lady.
As they say, clothes make the man—even the Demon King has turned into a noble young lady.
“Miss Yuna, is that armor heavy to wear? It looks really cumbersome.”
Lin Naiyue looked at Yuna, who was helping her adjust her armor and sword, and asked.
Yuna shook her head. “I’m used to it. It’s a maid’s duty.”
Primrose raised her hand and announced, “Alright, since everyone is ready, let’s prepare to set off.”
Just then, the tavern door was pushed open.
Border Lord Consta walked in with her guard captain, Aiwei.
Consta still wore a white lace-trimmed round hat, a European-style suit jacket and short skirt adorned with intricate white lace, her golden wavy long hair flowing behind her. She looked dignified, elegant, and full of mature feminine charm.
She stepped forward in black over-the-knee boots, walked up to Primrose, and respectfully performed a curtsey.
“Goddess, to express the deep respect of all the townspeople of Tattle Town for you, I have specially arranged a grand farewell ceremony.”
Consta straightened up, a hint of excitement flashing in her eyes.
“Farewell ceremony?” Primrose frowned.
“Yes!” Consta grew more excited as she spoke. “I have ordered all the townspeople to stop their work and stand on both sides of the main street. From the Golden Rose Inn all the way to the city gate, a full two kilometers, both sides will be filled with people seeing you off!”
As she spoke, Consta gestured with her hands.
“When the time comes, you and the Lord Hero will walk down the middle of the street, and the commoners will cheer for you and pray for you. I have also arranged for special people to scatter colorful ribbons on both sides of the road. You will step solemnly onto the grand road to seek the legendary Hero’s Holy Sword and Holy Armor amidst a sky full of ribbons and deafening cheers!”
After speaking, Consta looked at Primrose with full expectation, her emerald eyes sparkling as if waiting for praise.
After hearing this, Primrose was completely numb.
The image instantly popped into her mind: herself and the old lady walking down the middle of the street, with dense crowds on both sides, ribbons floating in the sky, and shouts of “Long live the Goddess” ringing in her ears.
She would also have to maintain the dignity of a deity and wave to both sides from time to time.
This is nothing short of a public execution!
She would never do something so mortifying even if it killed her. She was actually a person with social anxiety, not someone who liked to show off.
“No, absolutely not.” Primrose refused decisively, leaving no room for negotiation.
Consta was stunned, her smile frozen in place. “Goddess… wh-why? Everyone is looking forward to seeing your divine face again.”
Primrose’s thoughts raced as she searched for a suitable excuse. “We are going to Miracle Snowfield on a secret mission; we can’t make a big show of it. The Demon Race has eyes everywhere. Such a high-profile departure would be like telling the Demon King our movements.”
Consta understood. “I see! The Goddess is far-sighted. I have been thoughtless.”
Consta’s reverence for Primrose deepened another layer.
Dorothy, standing nearby, heard Primrose’s words and couldn’t help twitching the corner of her mouth.
‘Guard against the Demon King? The Demon King herself is standing right in front of you!’
Although Consta felt a bit regretful, she quickly adjusted her attitude. “Then I will take everyone to the teleportation array we used before.”
Earlier, when Primrose took the old lady to the outskirts for training and fought slimes, they used Tattle Town’s teleportation array, which could directly teleport to the nearby outskirts.
Upon hearing this, Cecilia gripped her scepter tightly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. “Goddess, from Tattle Town to Miracle Snowfield in the far northwest, the journey is very long.
Along the way, we will have to pass through dense forests, cross steep mountain ranges, and ford swift rivers. On this long journey, I wonder what interesting things we will experience!”
She looked at Primrose and began to ramble on about her fantasies. Cecilia’s mind had already started playing a movie. During the day, she could follow behind the Goddess and watch her figure shimmering in the sunlight.
At night, they could camp out in the wild. She could personally make the bed for the Goddess, and even… bathe together with the Goddess in a wild river!
At this thought, Cecilia’s breathing quickened, her cheeks flushed as if they would bleed, and the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but lift. “Goddess, I have prepared the highest quality camping tent and the softest silk sleeping bag. During the journey, I will take care of you and the Lord Hero down to the smallest detail!”
But at this point, Primrose interrupted Cecilia’s fantasy. “We won’t use the teleportation array this time.” Primrose said a bit awkwardly.
This time, she wanted to go and return quickly, planning to use teleportation magic to take them directly to the entrance of Miracle Snowfield. Primrose called up a holographic map of this world in her mind.
She just needed to find Miracle Snowfield on the map, lock the coordinates, and then directly cast group teleportation magic.
Consta was taken aback. “No teleportation array? Then… does the Goddess plan to walk to the outskirts? Although there is a side gate with few people that leads to the outer area, it is in the southeast direction, requiring a big detour.”
“Yes, Goddess, walking would waste a lot of time.” Cecilia was also stunned.
Primrose smiled slightly and explained, “I can use transfer magic to take everyone directly to the destination.”
