Zhu Qiu slept until the afternoon as usual, then prepared to get up and eat.
Time arrived at the next day.
She rubbed her eyes and glanced at the time.
“It’s already 1:30 PM?”
“Hmm? Why didn’t Zhu Xiaxia wake me up for lunch today?”
“That’s strange, you know? She’s always worried about Zhu Qiu going hungry.”
“But at noon, the most, most, most important time of the day, she actually ended up missing lunch because of it.”
‘Could it be that lunch time changed? Or did she go out for something and forget to notify Xiaguang?’
To get to the bottom of it, she quickly washed up, quietly opened the door a crack, and tiptoed out.
‘Let me see where Zhu Xiaxia is.’
Zhu Qiu first walked to the door of Zhu Xiaxia’s room, opened it just a tiny bit, and secretly observed inside.
‘What do I see?’
Zhu Xiaxia was actually sleeping!
Zhu Qiu instinctively pulled her head back, her face full of shock.
‘Oh no, this is way too abnormal. This is as ridiculous as Xiaguang’s cooking being as bad as Zhu Xiaxia’s used to be.’
‘No, let me take another closer look.’
Zhu Qiu leaned her head over again, pressing close to the door crack to observe.
“Wait!”
She made a shocking discovery.
Why was there a bulging lump beside Zhu Xiaxia?
And she had been stroking it with her hand the whole time.
It looked like she was showing great concern.
Zhu Qiu’s brain began to spin at full speed.
‘I don’t recall Zhu Xiaxia having a habit of hugging pillows when she sleeps. If she hugs anything, it’s only me from when we used to sleep together.’
‘Wait!’
Zhu Qiu suddenly seemed to realize something.
She immediately widened the door crack a bit, stood on her tiptoes, and stared intently at the spot Zhu Xiaxia was stroking.
Under her sharp gaze, she saw a wisp of golden hair lying on the pillow.
In that instant, Zhu Qiu understood everything.
The person lying there was none other than her longtime companion, Sword Spirit.
And Sword Spirit looked exactly like her, with a personality also influenced by her.
Plus, Zhu Xiaxia was a madwoman—she wouldn’t bother with all those complicated details.
She must have mistaken Sword Spirit for her.
‘Wrong, one hundred percent wrong!’
‘Her position is being shaken!’
‘Sword Spirit actually beat her to being “Mommy.”‘
Realizing this, Zhu Qiu didn’t hesitate any longer.
She forcefully flung the door open, just to wake Zhu Xiaxia and Sword Spirit up.
“Mother! Time to get up!”
Who would’ve thought there’d come a day when Zhu Qiu woke Zhu Xiaxia up?
What a rare sight.
“Oh~ my precious daughter is here. Come lie on the bed.”
Zhu Xiaxia seemed to have known all along that Zhu Qiu was watching from the door.
She scooted over and made some space.
She expected Zhu Qiu to refuse with resistance, but unexpectedly, she crawled right in.
Sword Spirit, lying off to the side, saw Zhu Qiu herself arrive and got so scared that she bolted on the spot, vanishing in place.
Although she loved the feeling of being in Zhu Xiaxia’s arms, no matter what, that had nothing to do with her.
That was Zhu Qiu’s place.
Having Zhu Qiu was enough for her.
“My daughter got up so early today~”
“You’re one to talk. It’s already afternoon, and you didn’t get up either.”
Zhu Qiu pouted her little lips, throwing a small tantrum.
“Mother just saw another version of you, and I couldn’t help it… Don’t mind it, okay?”
“My precious daughter, can you tell Mother who that little child who looks exactly like you is?”
“I definitely mind… Wait!”
Realizing she’d misspoken, Zhu Qiu immediately corrected herself.
Zhu Xiaxia turned her head to look at where Sword Spirit had slept last night, only to find she had already disappeared.
“Are you that concerned about her?”
Zhu Qiu pouted and lightly pounded Zhu Xiaxia’s chest in dissatisfaction.
“Mother is just curious. Besides, if I don’t get this straightened out, it’d be really easy to mix you two up.”
“Hmph!”
And she said she’d mix them up?
Even though they looked the same, their colors were completely different—one was normal, while the other was pure gold.
And she still claimed she’d confuse them?
That’s just outright lying!
Zhu Xiaxia was annoying.
But separate matters were separate.
She still needed to explain things.
“She’s my Sword Spirit, the incarnation of the Holy Sword. And that’s it.”
Zhu Qiu didn’t want to explain too much.
“I see. Yesterday you had Sword Spirit buy things for you. Looks like my daughter and Sword Spirit have quite the special relationship.”
“No we don’t.”
Zhu Qiu instinctively shot back, but after retorting, she didn’t know what else to say.
“Alright, alright. It’s about that time—time to get up. Tomorrow is your academy’s school-wide event. Do your best, okay?”
Zhu Xiaxia got dressed, rose from the bed, leaned close to Zhu Qiu’s cheek, and gave her a kiss.
In an instant, Zhu Qiu’s face turned bright red, and steam began rising from her head like a kettle coming to a boil.
“I’ll do my best!”
Meanwhile, in the Dragon Second District.
Yiluo Enya had planned to go to the Dragon Race’s surface to practice by herself like last time, but the question of how to get down still troubled her.
Although she had managed to get down last time, that kind of behavior was far too dangerous.
One wrong move and she’d have intimate contact with the ground, ending up as a pancake and becoming plant fertilizer.
The academy’s practice grounds were only that tiny bit of space, nowhere near enough.
With no other option, she had to temporarily pause her practice plans.
Since she was already here in Dragon territory, and with 2 days of the weekend left, there wasn’t anything else to do.
She might as well enjoy herself, treat it like a trip, and see if there was anything interesting around.
So during the day, she wandered around near the house.
But wherever she appeared, the surrounding dragons would cast contemptuous glances and whisper among themselves, seemingly not welcoming this friend from the Elf Race.
Yiluo Enya could tell what those dragons were thinking.
In the end, to avoid embarrassing herself, she would return to the house.
Now it was nighttime, and she was getting bored again.
A few days ago, at least Zhu Qiu could chat with her, but now she was all alone—chatting didn’t exist at all.
Suddenly, an idea popped into Yiluo Enya’s head.
‘At night, there shouldn’t be many people on the dragon streets, right? Since I can’t stroll around during the day, going out at night should be fine.’
With a cautious attitude, Yiluo Enya got dressed and walked out the door.
She then locked it behind her, making sure no one would barge in while she was away.
Sure enough, there really weren’t many people on the street.
Combined with the dim sky, they probably couldn’t see her clearly anyway.
‘Might as well walk around freely and boldly then.’
Yiluo Enya arrived at a street lined with shops selling all sorts of goods.
‘That makes sense—since I came to the Dragon Kingdom, I ought to buy something.’
Fortunately, the shop owners were more courteous and didn’t shun her just because she was an elf.
Just as she was about to head back and rest after buying her things, an elderly dragon stopped her.
“Little one, want to take a look at Grandpa’s toys here? A rare rattle drum.”
