This waist-thick Third Order Blood Python had a rather domineering name—the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python.
It could belch out highly corrosive Blood Qi!
Precisely because that name was so distinctive, Lorevil had a lasting impression of it.
Just as the Third Order Blood Python spat out its corrosive Blood Qi, Lorevil once again executed the Moon Arc Variable-Line Kick!
Her slender, fair leg carried a sharp gust of wind, slamming hard into the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python’s maw.
“BANG!”
A deafening crash rang out.
Though the snake’s body didn’t budge an inch, Lorevil used the recoil force to find a foothold, spun her body, and steadied her center of gravity.
Meanwhile, Leina snapped back to attention.
After beheading the charging Blood Beast, she flicked her wrist repeatedly!
Several streaks of cold, sharp light shot toward the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python’s eyes like meteors.
“Watch its eyes!”
But that wave of corrosive Blood Qi passed Lorevil and surged straight at Fini.
Lorevil’s peripheral vision caught it.
Her pupils contracted—Fini was in danger.
Fini forced herself to endure the dizzying sensation, hastily drew in her swirling water ring, and condensed it into a blood-colored shield in front of her.
“SIZZLE—”
The corrosive Blood Qi struck the blood shield, immediately producing white smoke as the shield visibly melted away.
Fini couldn’t help but let out a low cough.
Lorevil felt a surge of anger rising within her. Her gaze locked onto the coiled Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python.
The python seemed to sense it too.
A glimmer of human-like cunning flashed through its vertical pupils!
Its body flickered, then dove straight into the dense undergrowth, vanishing without a trace.
“You’ve got to be kidding me?”
Fini’s chest heaved violently. She stared wide-eyed, utterly speechless.
“That’s way too sneaky. It tried one bite, failed, and just went straight back into hiding.”
“Don’t let your guard down. It will definitely come back.”
Leina sheathed her sword and stood alert, her eyes fixed on that patch of grass.
“Besides the fangs in its mouth, the scales on its body are also corrosive. And that Blood Qi from before—if you get even a little on you, it’s nearly impossible to wash off.”
“Then how are we supposed to fight this? Can’t get close, can’t catch it, and we don’t even know where it is.”
Even the usually cheerful and lively Fini was starting to lose it.
She stomped her foot in frustration.
She wiped the sweat off her face.
Her mental energy was running dangerously low, so she pulled out a vial of supplement potion and drank it, her complexion improving only slightly afterward.
After advancing to Third Order, she had become a core member of the Family, so these supplements were now hers to drink freely.
“Here’s the plan: I’ll use Blood Line to probe its location. You two clear out the Blood Beasts closing in on us first. Don’t let us get caught in a pincer attack.”
Lorevil took a deep breath, and a Blood Line shot out from her fingertip.
They all instinctively glanced back at the clearing they had just finished mopping up.
Dozens of ferocious-looking Dark Beasts had surrounded them again, snarling with sharp fangs bared as they crept closer step by step.
“I just advanced to Third Order, and now I have to take on this many Blood Beasts? Isn’t that a bit much?”
Fini’s cute little face scrunched up like a bitter gourd as she pouted.
Even as she grumbled, Fini didn’t hesitate. She gripped her Moon Blade and gritted her teeth as she followed Leina forward.
All around them, the Blood Clan squad was locked in bloody combat with all manner of Blood Beasts.
There were also a few exceptionally talented Awakened among them, reaping Second Order Blood Beasts without mercy.
Occasionally, a Blood Clan member would crush a Blood Crystal in their hand to replenish their reserves.
Meanwhile, the nine instructors prowled the edges.
Whenever a student fell into danger, a thick pillar of Blood Qi light would descend from the sky, driving back the frenzied Blood Beast.
Occasionally, they would step in personally, swiftly dispatching any target too troublesome to handle.
After all, the whole point of this training exercise was to temper the students, not to feed them to the beasts’ jaws.
“At least it’s manageable. These Second Order Blood Beasts only run on instinct—they just mindlessly repeat the same bite over and over.”
Leina said in the brief lull.
“If they actually had some intelligence like the Third Order Blood Beast, we might be in real trouble.”
“True. And that three-eyed giant ape that went berserk earlier chased off all the nearby Third Order Blood Beasts.”
Fini chimed in.
“Otherwise, this area wouldn’t just have the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python—there’d be plenty more.”
“Strange.”
Lorevil kept expanding the range of her Blood Line detection, meticulously sweeping for any trace of the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python.
Yet the big beast seemed to have evaporated completely.
There wasn’t even a hint of its presence.
Growing impatient, Lorevil gave up on that and turned her attention to Leina and Fini, who were being surrounded by several Second Order Blood Beasts.
With a flick of her wrist, a new Blood Blade condensed into her palm.
Though she had to admit, the quality of the Second Order Blood Beasts in this training exercise was genuinely impressive.
Most of them were at the Second-Tier Peak level.
One Second-Tier Peak Blood Beast lunged out, opening a massive maw full of fangs and actually biting down directly on the Blood Blade Lorevil swung at it!
“WHOOOSH!”
“CRACK—!”
The rock-hard blade body was actually shattered by that bite!
Leina noticed what happened.
She spun her Blood Core weapon, preparing to turn back and support Lorevil, but Fini stopped her.
“Don’t rush. Lorevil will be fine.”
Fini shook her head at her.
The moment she finished speaking, a flash of crimson flickered through Lorevil’s wine-red eyes. Then she clenched her palm!
“BOOM!”
Like a thunderclap, the scattered fragments of the Blood Blade transformed into countless fine Blood Lines that surged toward the Blood Beast like a tidal wave, wrapping around it thread by thread until it was encased in a thick, blood-colored cocoon!
The beast thrashed madly inside, letting out muffled roars, but it couldn’t break free from the binding!
Lorevil’s feet shifted slightly, and she was already at the beast’s side.
One slender, jade-like hand condensed a Blood Blade.
She flipped her wrist downward, and the razor-sharp Blood Blade sliced across the beast’s throat, spraying dark crimson blood.
With a pained howl, the beast’s limbs convulsed violently a few times before going still.
“Lorevil, how… how is that possible? Your Blood Blade shattered, and you can still use it like that?”
The unbelievable sight left Leina dumbfounded.
She blinked her beautiful eyes in utter bewilderment.
“Nothing special. I just developed a self-created Secret Art based on my own talent. I only modified the standard Blood Blade Secret Art and linked it with the Blood Web Secret Art.”
Lorevil casually flicked the blood droplets off her hand, a slight smile curling at the corner of her mouth.
Leina understood immediately.
Lorevil’s Secret Art integration was likely no inferior to her own.
Being able to execute it so fluidly, without a hint of hesitation, was an exceedingly rare feat.
Just then, something unexpected happened!
A thick, dark shadow burst out of the undergrowth—it was the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python, which had been lying in wait all along.
And at that moment, Lorevil had just finished off the Blood Beast.
Her aura was slightly stalled—a gap where her strength hadn’t yet regenerated.
Its jaws gaped wide, reeking of foul rot, and it lunged at Lorevil’s head like an arrow released from a bowstring.
“Watch out! Dodge!”
Fini shouted urgently, instinctively pouring her remaining mental energy into a repelling water ring that enveloped Lorevil.
“BOOM!”
The Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python’s massive head slammed into the repelling water ring, sending ripples splashing everywhere.
The ring trembled violently and became riddled with cracks.
That solid, crushing impact forced the caster, Fini, to let out a muffled groan.
She clutched her chest and stumbled back two steps, a trickle of blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.
The water ring shattered—Secret Art backlash!
Using the brief moment of buffer, Lorevil executed a Blood Flash and retreated several meters, barely avoiding the fatal bite.
The young woman’s heart was still pounding.
But when she looked at Fini, she saw her pale face and blood trickling from her lips.
In an instant, Lorevil’s eyes darkened.
Fury blazed within her chest.
She no longer bothered conserving her strength.
Reaching both hands forward, countless thick Blood Lines burst forth.
“Rustle…”
Under her full output, they wrapped around the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python like crazed vines!
She could never forgive herself for letting Fini get hurt because of her own negligence!
The Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python let out a hiss, having neither expected the girl to react so quickly nor anticipated the extraordinary toughness of the Blood Line bindings.
The moment it was entangled, it began struggling.
Its massive body rolled and twisted across the ground, kicking up clouds of dust as it tried to tear free from the blood web.
But Lorevil’s anger had reached maximum.
The Blood Energy she’d been conserving flowed endlessly into the Blood Lines, causing the snake’s entire body to creak and groan under the pressure.
Seeing no way to break free, the Heaven-Swallowing Earth-Devouring Python bared its ferocious fangs, opened its bloody maw wide, and bit down hard on the Blood Lines wrapped around its body!
