Greed didn’t consider himself a womanizer, but he had to admit the woman before him was absolutely stunning.
He studied Noah carefully—a loose-fitting camouflage uniform, a dagger and pistol at the ready, and a long blade hanging from her waist.
A woman with such beauty who made no effort to conceal it was definitely not an ordinary person.
“Leader Greed, please calm down,” Noah said.
She could tell Greed enjoyed the feeling of control, so she threw him a casual compliment.
Pointing at the password lock on the main gate, she added with a faint smile, “Everyone, let me say a few words. I know that all of you here have only one goal: escape this research institute. And the simplest way to escape is, of course, to open this gate.”
“Why did I call that gentleman a mediocre talent? Because I’ve already obtained the gate’s password through a special channel. That mysterious person gave me several sets of passwords and told me only one is correct. But unfortunately, not a single one starts with the number 5.”
The moment she said this, the entire hall erupted in uproar.
Pride turned red with anger.
He strode over to Greed in two or three quick steps and jabbed a finger at Noah’s face.
“Nonsense! Who do you think you are! How dare you question my work! My password-breaking formula uses Terminus Technology’s twelve-line algebraic method—the highest technical crystallization of the Dark Key! And yet a white-haired monkey like you dares to question me! You—”
Pride wanted to keep cursing, but Greed pressed down on his shoulder to stop him.
With a look of shock and doubt from Pride, Greed raised his eyes toward Noah and asked in a calm tone, “So why should we believe you?”
Noah smiled in satisfaction.
Since Greed was asking that, it meant his resolve had already wavered.
She rubbed the hilt of her blade and replied unhurriedly, “If my password is wrong, what will you lose?”
Greed thought for a moment, then shook his head.
“Nothing.”
“And if the password is right?” Noah raised an eyebrow, pressing on.
Greed’s pupils contracted sharply.
He weighed the pros and cons in his mind, then extended his right hand respectfully toward the password lock.
“Please, go ahead.”
Did Noah really have the correct password?
Not at all.
She just wanted to test whether the password lock had an error limit, and whether entering the wrong password would set off the so-called explosives.
She had already made up her mind to throw away this life.
She would try every possibility regarding the password lock.
Noah’s actions left Aurora utterly stunned.
She had followed Noah all this way and never once heard her mention anything about a password.
But now, at the main gate, it was as if Noah had suddenly gone mad, rambling on about things Aurora couldn’t understand.
Aurora quietly stepped back a few paces.
She had a vague feeling that something terrible was about to happen.
If things got out of control, she would just turn and run.
Under the expectant gazes of most Sin Organization members, Noah walked up to the password lock.
She glanced at it and saw it only had four digits.
She thought quietly, and suddenly a sequence of numbers came to mind.
That was the number written on her room’s screen, her failed product designation.
Noah wondered, ‘Is it possible… the gate’s password is the same as the password to my room?’
Unlikely.
There was no reason for the person who set the password to do that.
She studied the screen closely, then turned back to ask Greed, “Have you ever entered a full password?”
At her question, Greed thought for a moment, then nodded.
“We tried a few times, but they were all wrong. We were worried this lock had an error limit and couldn’t be opened, so we stopped trying.”
“Heh, you were overthinking it. This lock has no error limit. You could try a few more times without any problem.” Noah smiled, then turned back to operate the password lock.
Her words made the people below start whispering among themselves.
But in truth, Noah had no idea what the lock’s settings were. She was just bluffing.
Besides, if she hadn’t said that, the Sin Organization might have forcibly interrupted her experiment.
So to prevent mutiny, her statement was necessary.
Under the eager gazes of every Sin Organization member, Noah reached out and pressed the screen.
She first entered her room’s password—0413—but unfortunately, it had nothing to do with the gate.
[Password incorrect. Please try again.]
A cold mechanical voice came from the lock.
Noah sighed in disappointment. Amid the noise of the crowd behind her, she tried a few more number combinations, all of which turned out wrong.
[Password incorrect. Please try again.]
After Noah entered the wrong password for the ninth time, Greed frowned.
He vaguely felt he shouldn’t have agreed to her request.
This woman exuded an air of weirdness from head to toe.
Where she came from, they didn’t know.
What her goal was, they didn’t know.
Whether her words were true or false, they didn’t know.
Seeing Noah about to enter a tenth password, Greed interrupted her in an unhappy tone.
“Beautiful lady, do you actually have the real password? You’re not just messing with us out of boredom, are you?”
No sooner had he spoken than the cold mechanical voice sounded again.
Greed’s brow furrowed deeply as he heard a hopeless announcement from the lock.
[Password error limit reached. Please contact the administrator to reset the password.]
[Repeat: Password error limit reached. Please contact the administrator to reset the password.]
Administrator?
The administrator had gone to hell! Greed’s face turned pale.
He looked up at Noah with a hateful glare and roared, “You… you dare trick us! Didn’t you say this lock had no error limit?!”
Every member of the Sin Organization went mad.
One moment they were at the gates of heaven, the next they plummeted back into hell.
All of them grabbed their weapons, waiting for Greed’s order to chop Noah into mincemeat.
But Noah merely glanced back at them faintly and said with a half-smile, “Hah, what’s the rush? Didn’t you hear? The administrator can reset the password.”
Greed was even more astonished.
His eyes widened as he looked at Noah in disbelief.
“Are you trying to tell me… that you are the administrator?”
“No, you’re overthinking it.” Before anyone could react, Noah drew the long blade from her waist and swung it with all her might straight at the password lock.
Sparks flew.
The lock was cleaved cleanly in two.
Noah looked at the remains on the ground and said in a cheerful tone, “What I mean is, even if there was an administrator, it wouldn’t matter anymore.”
