Boundless sea and sky!
After distancing himself from that green tea princess, Abel gazed at the crisp, clear autumn sky and immediately felt his mood brighten.
He thanked the Goddess for letting him recall his past-life memories in time, even with one foot already stepping through the gates of hell!
He had timely avoided falling into that woman’s trap again.
He had avoided contact with that group of heaven-defying little fairies.
And he had avoided the tragic future of being angered into becoming a turtle!
The feeling of controlling his own destiny was truly wonderful.
What would he do next?
Of course he would continue as a wandering knight, roaming the continent.
As a transmigrator, failing to properly experience the customs and scenery of this other world would be wasting the good intentions of the express driver who had brought him here.
As for being knight commander, even if he starved to death on the road, got swallowed by a dragon, or jumped from the Sky Tower, he absolutely would not do it!
“Abel!”
A somewhat familiar voice rang out.
Abel looked toward the sound and saw a golden-haired youth smiling as he walked over.
Although they had not seen each other for several years, he immediately recognized the other party.
It was his older brother, the current Marquis Noct!
Um, that is, the legendary “true male lead” in the game!!
Julius Noct!
Whether the planners had done it on purpose or not, this older brother marquis possessed dazzling golden hair, handsome features, and an extraordinary bearing.
He even carried a faint feminine air, possessing a peculiar neutral beauty.
It had to be said that this was another twisted taste of those dog planners!
As for the player avatar, it was a little green-haired guy with a head of oily green short hair, looking exactly like he was wearing a strange hat.
Add to that the fact that all the heroines in the game plot generally had favorable feelings toward Julius, and thus the player’s title of green-haired turtle was born!
Actually, from the original players’ perspective, Julius had not done anything heaven-defying.
In fact, the person in the game plot who truly cared about the protagonist was not those “little fairies” but this kind and humble older brother.
That was the most ironic point.
Moreover, as a transmigrator, Abel after all shared decades of brotherly affection from living day and night with his older brother.
These years, his older brother as marquis had not treated him poorly at all.
This knight commander position had even been recommended by him.
It was a classic case of hoping his incompetent younger brother would make something of himself.
Setting aside the terrifying filter of “Myanmar North 2D games,” Abel felt this older brother was actually quite reliable.
“Big brother, how come you’re here?”
Abel stopped in his tracks and looked toward this amiable older brother.
Julius smiled and jogged forward, patting his brother’s shoulder.
“I was waiting for you right at the palace gate! To celebrate your appointment as commander of the Goddess’s Sword Knight Order, and our brothers’ long-awaited reunion, how about we go for a drink together?”
“I refused Her Highness the Princess…”
Although Abel had made the decision to avoid being angered to death by the Myanmar North heroines in the future, it was after all his brother’s good intention, so he immediately felt a bit guilty.
Julius seemed not to have heard Abel’s words and continued on his own.
“As knight commander, you can’t keep slacking off like this in the future. With a proper position… Hm? What did you just say?”
Julius widened his eyes, full of disbelief.
He stared blankly at Abel for a good while before speaking.
“…This is what you deserve. You saved that princess from an assassin’s hand. Your martial skills and courage completely match the knight commander position! Could it be…”
After thinking for a moment, Julius arrived at an explanation.
“It couldn’t be that unruly and unreasonable princess—”
“Wait, Abel, I’ll go into the palace right now and protest to her…”
Abel immediately grabbed Julius, who looked ready to stand up for his brother.
He hurriedly shook his head.
“It’s not that, big brother. It’s that I feel I’ve already grown accustomed to a life of idle clouds and wild cranes. The responsibility of the kingdom’s knight commander is still too heavy for me.”
The real reason naturally could not be explained to Julius.
But his older brother was still exactly the same as several years ago, unchanged in the slightest.
That still warmed Abel’s heart.
Young, handsome, full of a sense of justice, and within the kingdom’s upper echelons, a rare good noble who loved the people like his own children.
Such a Julius being liked by many girls, Abel felt there was nothing too wrong with that.
As for himself, being a wandering knight suited him better.
This time returning to the country was purely just to see the family he had not seen for many years.
Now that the goal had been achieved, he had no reason to stay in the kingdom.
Being knight commander was impossible—this lifetime, it was impossible.
“…I-I see.”
Julius let out a deep sigh and looked at Abel helplessly.
“Before our father and mother passed, they asked me as the older brother to take good care of you, this younger brother. So I wanted to use this assassination incident to let you live a stable life…”
“Staying in the kingdom wouldn’t be bad, right?”
“Lord older brother, you have already fulfilled your promise to our parents.”
Abel said this.
Julius’s lips moved, but in the end he accepted Abel’s words.
He also knew that this talented younger brother had no ambition for this, so why force him to stay?
“Then let’s still go for a drink together. Tomorrow we’ll return to the marquis territory to visit ‘father and mother.’”
“Good.”
This time, Abel did not refuse.
Instead, he followed Julius as they walked together on the streets of the royal capital’s commoner district, without a luxurious carriage or a large group of accompanying guards.
Sure enough, this was still his older brother, uncorrupted by any noble extravagance.
The streets were crowded with people.
Abel stopped in his tracks and saw several posters pasted on the roadside.
On the left side of the poster was a female warrior with neat golden short hair and a good figure.
The expression was depicted well, fully rendering the girl’s wild charm.
This person Abel naturally recognized—one of the original game’s heroines, who would later become the charge captain of the Goddess’s Sword Knight Order, known as the Crimson-Eyed War Demon, Aruma Noyn.
On the right side of the poster was a female holy knight with flowing silver hair, wearing silver armor, her expression very serious and proper—the current rising star of the church.
The future third squad captain of the Goddess’s Sword Knight Order, known as the White Lily Knight, Ingrid Sigfield.
Two women who could anger people to death without paying with their lives.
One was all about the thrill of battle, acting without thinking, even ignoring the player’s orders as commander and doing things her own way.
The second was the complete opposite, so saintly it could be called stupid!
Those brainless saintly statements almost all came from her mouth.
Recalling these plot points, Abel felt a stomachache coming on.
“Oh, Abel, are you also interested in the Goddess Festival?”
Julius seemed to notice his younger brother’s heated gaze.
He narrowed his eyes slightly and teased, “Makes sense. You’ve also reached the age where you’re interested in girls. Let me tell you secretly, knight commanders are often the dream lovers of girls…”
“No, I’m not interested.”
The Goddess Festival was a martial competition held to pray to the Goddess of War.
This match between the White Lily Knight and the Crimson-Eyed War Demon was the finale of the festival—the final decisive battle.
Making it to the finals showed that both had considerable strength.
Although they were launch character cards, they were still SSR after all.
“It’s fine, no need to be shy. These two girls are indeed good-looking, and their strength matches my brother! How about after the evening match ends, I introduce you to them?”
“No no… Wait, big brother, what did you say?”
Abel suddenly caught a key word, his expression changing drastically.
“You regret it? As expected…”
“No, you said the match would end by evening?”
“What’s wrong?”
Oh crap! I hope there’s still time!
“Big brother, stop this match immediately, otherwise many people will die!!”
