After resting for a good while, Ziya and Bai Li were already sitting on pins and needles.

Their hearts and minds were filled with worry for Bai Ning’s safety, and their anxiety was palpable.

“Ziya, Bai Ning… she won’t really be in trouble, will she?”

Bai Li asked worriedly.

“S-She shouldn’t be. I don’t think Sister Long Jiu would go so far as to kill her, no matter how angry she is…”

They were happy that the newcomer was indeed Bai Ning, but saddened to see her covered in wounds and looking absolutely wretched.

Both Bai Li and Bai Ning were speechless, their faces dark with exasperation.

“Cough, cough. Bai Ning, your injuries are severe. Come over here and let me heal you.”

Bai Li gave a light cough to break the tension.

She was about to cast Auxiliary Magic when a realization hit her.

She hadn’t learned how to use Demon Race Mana yet!

Bai Ning lay on the ground and spat out a mouthful of blood.

Bai Ning struggled to prop herself up, her breath as weak as a flickering candle.

Bai Li hurriedly pulled Bai Ning into an embrace, exposing her smooth, delicate neck without hesitation.

“Ziya! First off, you didn’t follow the plan. Forget not flying out from the other side and insisting on the main gate, but why didn’t you fly straight back to your own palace or my territory? Why did you have to stay in the forest to play some wilderness survival game?”

Ziya turned around dejectedly, revealing the small fleshy wings on her back.
