After listening to Naya’s plan, everyone fell silent.
Noah took out the Tarot deck from her pocket and showed the Strength Card to Naya.
“What about this? Will enhancing it affect your script?”
Naya stroked his cane and frowned.
“I don’t know. I’ve never seen the power of the Stars before, so I’m not sure if it can increase the script’s duration.”
After a discussion, they finally settled on this plan: first have Naya turn everyone into Ghost Forms, then sneak attack the New Truth members here.
The New Truth were originally old subordinates of the Research Institute, so they all have the same system.
By killing them without getting blood on the uniforms, they could use the stripped uniforms to disguise themselves as New Truth members.
This way, they could not only reduce the burden on the script but also move unhindered through the Incinerator Area.
As long as they didn’t reveal any flaws, they could even pass through this area without anyone noticing.
The method was good, but not foolproof.
Xin touched her tail and ears, then turned to look at Noah beside her.
“Well, what about us? Your madam is a stunning beauty, and I have these long cat ears. There’s no way we can disguise. They’re not blind—won’t they see through it at a glance?”
This was indeed a problem.
Naya thought for a moment, then looked at the two of them.
“Alright, if in the end the script really can’t hold up, you two put on your hoods and follow at the back of the line. If anyone becomes suspicious, just kill them directly, but make it a one-hit kill. Don’t give these soldiers a chance to call for reinforcements.”
It could only be this way.
Xin glanced at Shabu lying at the back of the line.
“What about her? You can’t have her crawling behind us, can you? Are you going to tell the New Truth Organization that she’s our pet?”
“This really can’t be helped…”
Naya immediately shook his head.
“We’ll have to go ahead and clear the path, letting Shabu follow far behind. When needed, I’ll call her for support.”
Xin glanced at Noah and asked doubtfully,
“Then why can’t we all follow behind? One person following is the same as three.”
“Don’t be silly. There aren’t many high combat power members in our group…”
Naya replied helplessly.
“Three of our top combatants are absent. If something happens to the vanguard, you won’t be able to support in time.”
“That’s true…”
Helpless, Xin agreed to Naya’s request.
The operation began.
Naya first took out a pen and wrote a line in the script:
“The script says: We are all Ghost Forms.”
Under the blessing of Cosmic Divine Power, all members of the Primordial Organization were transformed into Ghost Forms.
Noah clenched her fist, feeling her body extremely light.
But this was illusory—they could only become invisible, not walk through walls.
With Noah’s divination ability, the group quickly found the right path.
From Zone B to Zone C, there were no New Truth Organization members guarding the corridor at all.
It was only when they arrived at an Incinerator Control Room that they saw a few members, all holding pens and paper as if recording something.
A huge incinerator was roaring in the center of the room, the noise mixed with scorching hot air surrounding them.
Xin stepped to the door, first glanced at the layout inside, then whispered to Suo’en.
“Kid, you’re Suo’en, right?”
Xin turned to look at him.
“Do you know how to assassinate?”
“Look at what you’re saying. I’m a scout—this is what I do.”
Suo’en drew his Long Blade, eager to try.
“Don’t worry, I won’t mess up.”
Suo’en’s [Shagai] Squad excelled at exploration and stealth—assassination was the most basic skill.
Xin glanced at the number of New Truth members in the room, then waved behind her.
“Five people, come with me. Also, your weapons are too big, not suitable for assassination. Take these.”
Xin handed five slender daggers to these people and instructed again.
“Tread lightly, breathe steadily, and I shouldn’t need to explain the basics of assassination. The six of us will each target one person, acting on my command. Slit their throats as fast as possible, then quickly drag the bodies over here. Got it?”
“Yes!”
The Shagai Squad took the daggers Xin distributed and nodded firmly.
Xin turned around, tiptoed lightly into the room.
Although the incinerator noise could cover their footsteps, Xin still used the pads of her feet to avoid making any sound.
The Ghost Form’s invisibility allowed these six people to successfully sneak behind the New Truth members, awaiting Xin’s command to immediately send these six to the City of the Dead.
But at this moment, these New Truth Organization members had no idea what was about to happen.
One of them was recording the incinerator data when he suddenly shuddered.
He lifted his head doubtfully and looked at another member across from him.
“Huh? Why do I suddenly feel a chill at my back?”
The member across was startled at first, then replied in a mocking tone.
“Are you crazy from overtime? I’m almost sweating from the heat and you say you’re cold? Did you take the wrong medicine?”
“Eh? Strange…”
The man scratched his head with the pen, then turned to look around.
Frowning, he asked the others,
“Is it just my imagination?”
“You’re not scared that the Primordial Organization will attack, are you?”
Another member next to him sneered.
“Rest assured! The Great Leader is about to complete the Ascension Plan. Those ground rats definitely wouldn’t dare…”
Before he finished speaking, Xin gave the order.
“Now!”
The blade of the dagger had been lingering at the throats of these people for a while.
Upon hearing Xin’s command, the Shagai Squad immediately covered the mouths and noses of these people with one hand while using the other hand to slit their throats as fast as possible.
Without giving these New Truth members any chance to react, the assassination was already complete.
“Good job, everyone.”
Xin high-fived Suo’en, then together with the others moved the bodies outside the room.
They quickly stripped the uniforms off these people, not even leaving behind the few supplies on them.
Noah glanced at the six members who had changed into New Truth uniforms, then looked up at Naya.
“How are you? Can you still hold on?”
Naya lifted the Ghost Form from these members and immediately felt the pressure ease a bit.
He first let out a breath, then replied to Noah.
“It’s okay, dear. I can still hold on. The Strength Card is our last trump card. We won’t use it unless absolutely necessary.”
“Yeah, don’t push yourself… We’re all counting on you…”
Although a bit uncomfortable, Noah tried to express her concern.
Upon hearing Noah’s words, Naya immediately said with surprise,
“Dear… you’re finally willing to care about me… I…”
“Cough, cough…”
Xin coughed heavily from the side, looking at Naya with contempt.
“Hey hey, we’re all watching here. Showing off your love will get you struck by lightning!”
