To prevent attacks from the Primordial Organization, the New Truth Organization changes its secret code at regular intervals. Without Noah’s divination, it would be nearly impossible for anyone to get through here disguised.
But Noah made a slight move and used divination to crack the so-called secret code.
An ordinary member of the Primordial Organization saluted the manager and said,
“Reporting to you, sir: The New Truth Organization lasts forever.”
The code was correct.
The manager carefully examined the squad, looking a bit puzzled.
For one thing, their heights were irregular, and for another, he didn’t seem to have seen the leader before.
He quickly walked over, frowned, and asked the group,
“You don’t look familiar. Which squad are you from? Why haven’t I seen you?”
The leader of this Primordial Organization member had already prepared a response.
He saluted again and reported,
“Greetings, sir. We’re from Squad 22, just returning from Incinerator No. 17. Please let us pass.”
Seeing no flaws, the manager nodded.
He then looked at the several hooded members behind and asked again,
“Are the apples ripe?”
The leading member immediately replied,
“Already picked.”
“Peeled?”
the manager asked again.
“Need to be transported. Can’t peel.”
“Understood. Go ahead.”
Only then did the manager turn away, satisfied, allowing Noah and the others to pass.
What the manager said sounded cryptic, but it was actually part of the code.
“Are the apples ripe?” meant: Is the data collection complete? “Already picked” meant: It’s been collected.
“Peeled?” meant: Where is it going? Can I see it? “Need to be transported. Can’t peel” meant: It needs to go directly to the leader; you don’t have permission to view it.
The manager understood the meaning of the code, so he let them through.
After this round of questioning, the leading member was already breaking out in a cold sweat.
The group hurried to leave—staying any longer might really expose them.
After saluting the manager, the leading member led the others forward quickly, preparing to leave the Control Room.
Just then, the manager suddenly turned and shouted,
“You! Come here!”
He was pointing at Xin. The manager frowned and slowly walked over to the group.
He carefully examined Xin, who was silently bowing her head, then looked at the leading member.
“Show me the data you collected.”
The leading member was startled.
He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
“Sir… this… might not be convenient… This data is to be handed to the leader… you…”
“Less nonsense!”
The manager took off the grenade launcher hanging from his back, his muscles tensing.
He stared at Xin’s figure and said in a certain tone,
“Where are you people really from? There are over a hundred members in the New Truth Organization, plus about fifty from the Primordial Organization. I’ve never seen anyone like this! Did you crawl out of the furnace or what?!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Xin had already condensed a katana at top speed.
She raised the blade and slashed upward, knocking the grenade launcher out of the manager’s hand. The manager was startled and immediately shouted around,
“Enemy attack! Enemy attack! Full alert!”
Instantly, alarms blared.
New Truth members who had already pressed the alarm grabbed their weapons and ran toward the group.
Naya directed everyone to retreat while asking Noah beside him,
“Honey, was this also in your divination?!”
“No! Divination isn’t prophecy. How would I know this would happen?!”
Noah retorted angrily.
While Xin was entangled with the manager, the group hurried back, trying to leave the Control Room.
But the manager slammed the console hard, closing all entrances to the Control Room and blocking their escape route.
Xin was surprised by the manager’s action, then said sarcastically,
“Oh, you’re pretty confident. Locking us in here also cuts off your reinforcements, doesn’t it? Do you really think you few rotten eggs can beat us?”
“Hahahaha!”
The manager laughed instead of getting angry. He lifted a nearby obstacle to block Xin’s attack while shouting,
“The leader of the Primordial Organization, Suo’en from the Shagai Squad, plus some freak who popped out of nowhere—don’t you think my life is worth trading for the three of you?!”
“You can recognize me too?!”
Naya pulled off his hood and rubbed his forehead in frustration.
“Sigh… being too handsome is a sin…”
“Bah!”
The manager blocked one of Xin’s attacks and leaped back.
“The chaotic aura on you is like a dead rat in a sewer. Did you think I couldn’t sense it? Since you showed up here, your lackeys must be hiding around. I don’t know how you got in, but I promise you’ll regret this!
I, Hudson, will cut you down right here!”
With that, the manager, Hudson, raised both hands and slammed the ground hard.
Sand mixed with lava gradually enveloped him, and a stone giant appeared before the group.
Hudson channeled the Earth Divine Power, and the flowing lava transformed the other five New Truth members into stone statues. Hudson raised his head, clapped his hands, and shouted loudly,
“Earth!”
Then the five stone statues echoed with a roar.
“Lava!”
“Sand!”
Hudson shouted again.
“Earth-Shattering!”
The statues echoed again.
“Hahahaha!”
Hudson laughed loudly, clapping his hands, and walked toward the group step by step.
Xin felt the ground vibrating from his steps and gritted her teeth as she backed away,
“This is going to be trouble…”
“It’s Earth Divine Power!”
Naya frowned and waved his hand backward.
“Fall back! Everyone fall back!”
Xin put away her katana and picked up the grenade launcher she had confiscated. She fiddled with it and shouted to the group,
“How do you use this thing?”
“Miss Xin, throw it to me!”
Suo’en immediately called out.
He caught the grenade launcher Xin threw, aimed at Hudson without thinking, and fired.
The roar of the shell made everyone’s eardrums ache, but Hudson only had a few pieces of his rock armor chip off.
Hudson laughed, stepping forward with heavy strides.
Suo’en fired repeatedly, but the shells only killed a few small stone statues and had no effect on Hudson at all.
Xin charged into the smoke of the explosion, raised her katana, and slashed down hard on Hudson’s head.
Although a layer of rock armor was shaved off, her katana also snapped in two.
Xin was horrified as she retreated, shouting,
“This thing is too hard! Any other ideas?”
Naya pulled out that stack of paper from his bosom, bit the cap off his pen, and prepared to use his remaining strength for a final gamble.
But Noah reached out and stopped him.
She looked up at Hudson across from them and said with confidence,
“Don’t rush. Let me try.”
